I had roamed throughout the school for twenty minutes before heading to class. The closer and closer I got, the more negativity I felt in the air. 495Please respect copyright.PENANArGV17S126C

When I walked into room 122 I noticed that Vampires sat to the right, Werewolves to the left, Fae in the back. I looked to the Vampires, but they hissed. I looked at the Fae, and mostly recieved welcomes but then one of them... Snarled. Fae were not to be messed with, so I didn't dare walk to them. I glanced at the Wolves, and some glared.495Please respect copyright.PENANA0J4HPQdY8A

So I chose a desk that was front and center. The werewolves began whispering, and in a matter of minutes I felt someone tapping my shoulder. I looked up to see a blue eyed, silver haired, female Fae. She whispered, "Thorn Dawn sits there. You should probably move."
Thorn Dawn is a well known Werewolf throughout America. He's handsome, strong, and supposedly a Commander for the Werewolf Kingdom. If I moved I would be considered a Werewolf lover... Ultimately, I'd get punished. So I couldn't move, despite how much I wanted to. "Are there assigned seats?"495Please respect copyright.PENANAtF1N8jzG94

She shook her head. I leaned back, interlacing my hands behind my head, "Then I'm not moving." She huffed then walked away, right as the bell rang for class to begin. The teacher wasn't here yet, along with the famed Thorn Dawn.
We all waited, for about fifteen minutes until a tall, strong, black, Fae man walked in, wearing all black and a name tag. Mr. Adamson...495Please respect copyright.PENANA9hMQObBf1y

He looked at me and gave a nod, "I see the new student has arrived. Helena, correct?" I nodded, "Yes, but I go by Hel." He nodded, and grabbed a clip board. "No Thorn... Yet."
And at that moment, the Thorn Dawn, walked in. Mr. Adamson grumbled, placing his clip board down. Thorn, looked at me in the eyes, and I looked right back. He wore blue boot cut jeans, a grey muscle T, and sneakers. He has golden brown skin, a muscular body, brown messy hair, and silver-blue eyes. He was so attractive, I had to force myself not to blush. He walked towards me, then stopped at my- or his- desk. He smirked, and sat at the desk behind me.
Mr. Adamson passed out textbooks, on gosh knows what, to everyone except me. Instead, I recieved a few sheets of paper with questions on them. "The answers will help me know where you're at. Raise your hand once your done." I nodded and he went to his desk.
"So, I assume you know who I am," asked Thorn from behind. "You assume correct." He chuckled. I didn't turn to face him, "What's so funny?"
"You." I spun around, "Excuse me?!" He put up his hands, "Hold on, let me explain. No Vampire, has ever spoke to me when I've asked that question. I'm just surprised." Suddenly a Werewolf pulled him from his desk and whispered something in his ear. Thorn winked at me while they talked, so I flipped him off and got back to work.
I hated him making me feel bubbly inside. For making it harder for me to follow the rule. Damn you Thorn. Damn you for being so hot and charming.

I sat at a table with Lucian, sipping and savoring my bottle of blood. It's only been a day, and drinking it feels normal... I was starting to see why Humans are disgusted of Vampires. 495Please respect copyright.PENANA8S2NxcaBJS

"I hear you met Thorn Dawn." I swirled the blood, "Yeah."
"So what happened?" I glanced up at him, then back down, "One of the Fae told me that I apparently sat in Thornsseat. There were no assigned seats, so I didn't move. Shortly after Mr. Adamson arrived, Thorn came in. He walked to the desk I was sitting at, smirked, and sat at the desk behind me... He even winked at me!" He put a hand over my mouth, "Shh!" I glared at him and he removed his hand. "You shouldn't talk about a Werewolf flirting with you. Especially since you're a Fledgling Vampire."
"Why? Because the Queen will think I was being kind? Because it shows disloyalty? One, I pretty much ignored him, until I thought he insulted me. Two, I never smiled back, or gave the kindness I would have given as a human. Three, I flipped him off and went back to work, when he winked at me." He gave a small smile, "That's good! You're on the right track. But the Queen won't care. You haven't been part of Kruthian long enough to be trusted by her. You haven't even gone through the tests." I blinked a few times. Tests? What kind of tests was Lucian talking about?
"I guess that's understandable, but what do you mean by, 'tests'?" He took a large gulp of blood, and nearly slammed the bottle down. "The tests are to see if you can really be a Kruthian Vampire. The Queen is always testing new Fledglings, so I suggest you be careful... She could be watching you as we speak." I shiver, at the thought of the Vampire Queen watching my every move. It was honestly terrifying, but I didn't show my fear. I couldn't.
"Zach might tell you more about the tests if you ask." I nodded, finishing off the blood, right as the bell rang. 2:00... Time to head for room 205.

The room had nothing in it, except for two teachers and two students. Zach- or Mr. Church- stood next to, who I assume to be, Mrs. Bening. She had long blonde hair and blue eyes. No wings, and no Fae-like ears, so she had to be a Werewolf, probably here to teach the two Werewolf stude-
Oh crap.
Thorn is one of the students... He was leaning against a wall talking to the other Wolf. "Everything alright?" I blinked a few times and looked up at Zach. Shit... Was I staring at them? Zach glanced at the Werewolves, "They won't hurt you, not while I'm around."
"That's not true Zach. She has to spar with one of them today," Mrs. Bening said as she laid down a large Gym Mat. Zach spun around, "She just got here, why the hell does she have to spar, Marissa?" After he said that, I began to feel extremely off. Like none of this was real.
"Because my King and Queen, along with your damned Vampire Queen wants to see a sparring match... Today. Or do you want to disappoint the oh so grand Queen Nira?" Zach scoffed, but said no.495Please respect copyright.PENANA3gFmw6Xmua

"Watch your words, Marissa. I'd rather not have another unpleasant conversation with Nira." Suddenly the Werewolves turned to the door and knelt. A cloaked woman and man walked in, motioning the Werewolves to rise. "Sorry, your Highness."
"It's fine," the cloaked Werewolf King said as he and the Queen walked to Thorn.495Please respect copyright.PENANAdiR0mhtunZ

Then the Vampire Queen in a Black and red Gown, with a black hood walked in. I gulped as I felt the King and both Queens eyes on me. Zach whispered as he knelt down, "Kneel." I quickly got on one knee, bowing my head.
"This is the Fledgling you spoke of?"
"Yes, this is she." There was a long silence, then the Queen spoke once more. "Rise." We rose, and Queen Nira suddenly lifted my chin up with her forefinger and thumb. She moved my head side to side, likely studying me. "What's your name, girl?"
"Helena, your Highness." She began circling me, "What's your last name?"
"I- I don't have a last name." She abruptly stopped walking. "Because you are an Orphan." How did she- "Enough with the surprised look! I know everything about new Fledglings. From now on, you will be Helena The Orphan. Understand?" Suddenly the Werewolf Thorn had been talking to, laughed. My eyes began to fill with tears and in the corner of my eye, I saw Thorn elbow him in the stomach.
"UNDERSTAND?!" I flinched and nodded, "Yes, I understand, your Highness." She nodded and Marissa spoke, "Helena, you'll spar against Thorn."
You have to be kidding me!
Thorn stepped onto the mat, looking at me with a blank face. Zach then whispered, "Look for unprotected spots, and fighting patterns. Go." I slowly walked onto the mat, looking straight at Thorn.
"I'll go easy on you," He said, slightly bending his knees and raising his hands. I hissed, "Don't." He huffed and suddenly his fist connected with my jaw.
Everything froze, and grew darker. The King and Queens vanished, right as a little boy- which looked like a mini version of Thorn- appeared next to me. The boy tugged on my hand, "Come here!" In this odd, and new world, I nodded and allowed him to pull me away from Thorn. "Look, look! The moon," He said, full of distraught and curiosity. The boy pointed up at the ceiling... But there was no ceiling, there was only blood red stars and a blood red moon... "Something bad is going to happen." I looked down at the boy, "What will happen?" The boy grew and aged suddenly, becoming an exact replica of Thorn. "I don't know." Then he vanished with the stars and moon.495Please respect copyright.PENANAJ4kfhq8LWb
