"this is bad." he shudders. i turn to him, tilting my head in confusion.
"what is?" i ask, concerned. he only glances at me, then quickly looked back at the ground, seemingly becoming more anxious as time passed. his shaking had become violent.
"hey. what's wrong? what's bad?" i ask.
"...there are people here." he whispers, glancing behind him. i look over to where he was looking at, in fact, there are.
"...oh no. this is bad." i whisper back. "what do we do?"
"i don't know..." he sounded distressed. his face lights up. he looks at me, a hopeful light in his eyes. "do you think she can help?"
i give him a confused look. "who?"
"her! the monster!" my heart drops. my expression darkens as i turned my head away from him. "she, she can help..? right?"
i shake my head no. i can't look up to his eyes right now... i wouldn't be able to say no if i did.
"but she helped us before! whatever she did, it always worked!" he insisted. finally having enough. i was able to bring myself to look up to him. straight at his eyes.
" n o ." he flinches, looking back at the ground. i felt bad. but, he knows that he shouldn't have brought it up.
"...sorry." he apologizes. no longer able to look at me in the eye. "..i just thought it was an effective idea.."
"...it's.." i trail off.
"...it's alright.." i assure him. "you are right though. it is an effective idea."
i look away. "...but just because it's effective does not always mean it's good.."
