Obsidian felt herself drifting off to sleep the next night. Today she learned how to defend herself from a normal cat attacking her. It had drained her to a hollow husk of tiredness. Despite her tiredness, she felt the urge to go get some fresh air outside. She carefully and quietly got out of bed and made her way to the dorm room exit, checking that everyone else was asleep.
When she got outside to the field, Obsidian sat down, exhausted. She felt better with the fresh air, but she felt the urge to go off of school property, and find answers to her burning questions about the prophecy. I should wait until I can defend myself better. Obsidian planned.
“Cannot sleep?” A familiar voice asked.
Obsidian jumped a little when the other cat startled her. Sherbert was standing behind her, his eyes baggy.
“I promise I will not tell, not like Snow the tattletale.” Sherbert continued.
“Okay.” Obsidian mumbled shyly in response.
“So, why are you out here?” Sherbert asked as he sat next to Obsidian.
“I needed some fresh air.” Obsidian whispered in response. She felt a little more comfortable around Sherbert, who was the only cat other than her mom she felt safe around.
“So you’re feeling extra brave tonight?” Sherbert asked.
“I just needed air that is not polluted with waste.” Obsidian mumbled.
“In other words, yes?” Sherbert asked.
“I guess.” Obsidian murmured.
Sherbert then wrapped his tail around Obsidian’s body and drifted off to sleep. Obsidian felt uncomfortable so she scooted away from him and went back inside to her bed.367Please respect copyright.PENANAtLN065zL3C

A few weeks later, Obsidian felt the rush of combat training flying past her mind and making it wander to her questions. I need answers! What do the cave drawings mean? Is this Darkness figure really all bad? Do we need to fulfill the prophecy now? Do we really need to kill Darkness? I will sneak out tonight, and answer my questions! 367Please respect copyright.PENANAD0sbdpeCSM

That night, Obsidian snuck out, checking to make sure no one was awake. She made sure her paw steps did not make a sound so Sherbert would not catch her again. Obsidian felt her heart pound hard with fear as she crept out of school grounds, when she finally got a few hundred yards off of school ground she stopped to rest, but as she listened to the sounds around her, she realized that someone was watching her.367Please respect copyright.PENANA40NQhz7M1v
