I've noticed that poems and short stories are gaining a lot of popularity, so I want you guys to write a poem. I'll also make a short story prompt if that's what you're better at.

The Prompt:

When I look out the window...

A continue-the-story project where a sentence starter is given and we have to write a story together. No need to be too serious as long as you're having fun and following server rules.

Hiya! This is my first contest, so sorry if the description is a little weird. Regardless, though, I hope you have fun if you decide to enter!

Write me a story about someone blending in, but being found out by one of their peers! An example could be a werewolf trying to pass as human in high school, but one of their classmates walks in on them fighting a transformation. Another example could be someone of the LGBTQ+ community in the closet when a friend confronts them, a serious conversation about their identity following. This prompt is very vague on purpose, so there's lots of room for creativity and fun stuff. If you do have any questions about something, like, say you have an idea but you're not sure it fits the prompt, do shoot me a comment somewhere and we can talk about it.

Since I'll be the one judging these rather than letting the most likes decide the winner, here's some extra ideas if you want to really move me:

- Creativity! Do something unexpected with the prompt, or include a backstory with some original characters you've been drafting a backstory for!

- Emotion! I'm a sucker for works with lots of raw feeling, especially if there are dark themes.

- Big pictures! This one isn't as important as the others, but it's essentially commentating on problems in our society or some sort of generational trauma, something along those lines

- Effort! If I can see that you put lots of time and detail in your work, or you really put some thought into the prompt, I'll instantly fall in love with it...

Additionally, I'll be commenting on everyone's entries, so don't worry about me ignoring your writing. If you're hoping to receive criticism in your comment, be sure to add that in your entry, otherwise I'll assume you don't want any.

Please choose your favorite fairytale and add a twist to it, so that the main character falls in love with someone different than they typically do. Love is a complicated thing. We can fall in love, but there's more to the word as just romance. It's about friendship and family too. It's about being alive, about hurting and feeling. In this contest I invite you to write a 100-150 word story about any kind of love. It can be romantic, but it doesn't have to be. The main character discovers that they are the main character in a book. What are their thoughts and feelings? What do they do? Do they try to not be the main character?

Here's the prompt: First, you'll read the following and once you have a firm grasp of their attitudes and their characteristics, you write your own Random Event. Ur basically writing shorts with a Tumblr mindset (mix a bit of manga mindset in there.)

Iori Inu: 16 yrs old

Takatsuki: 21 yrs old

Iori: "Ah."

Taka: "What is it?"

Iori: *he points* "A fucking. Cat."

Iori: *accidentally cuts finger*

Iori: "Yommy."

Taka: "...What?"

Taka: "Ah! There's a bee! Iori, look out-"

Iori: *grabs bee between teeth*

Taka: "Don't. fucking. swallow it."

Yuu: points at pitiful man* "'happened to him (lol)?"

*Iori, with puffed, reddish cheeks*

Taka: "He swallowed a fucking bee."

You can add extra characters for all i care. as long as Taka and Iori are still there.

Write a story where the character wakes up not remembering anything. You have complete creative liberty here. I'm annoyed with all these contests where its just "Make me a cover" Or "I have decided every aspect of what I want this story to be about and how it plays out"
