So...Coen here!

My goal is to attempt to write a novel or story collection on the Romance genre. It will be my first official romance story on Penana. I will try my best to at least write a COMPELETED one even it's not 50,000 words!

So this is my first time participating but I plan on working on a novel called Northwood. It's the prequel to the novel I'm currently working on.

The story is set in 1943, and is a fantasy sci-fi and follows the story of the young Lord Solomon Ashford, a genius writer and visionary that will open the way to a new world. A World of werewolves, a world where the Black Death has returned and Victorian era London is at the heart of it all. Of a war that begins in the shadows, and slowly floods the streets of London with blood whilst those in the crossfire are killed by the mysterious White Plague.

Of a war that begins with one boy's love for fairy tales.

Pardon me, but I was just wondering how to actually enter the NaNoWriMo. Is there a website or something?

(Sorry, I'm a beginner)

I finally picked out my NaNoWriMo for this year! I was juggling a few ideas for bit and finally decided. Mine takes place on a planet that is pure water with only rock formations that resemble the tip of icebergs. Civilization thrives on ships, small boats, and on the rock formations.  The ocean's currents are ran by Androids that operate in caves that are below the sea beds. The planet is invaded by aliens, The Nyem, and they create land for the first time. My main characters stumble upon the land after the explosion sends the world's currents into chaos. It's their adventure on land for the first time basically. And the Nyem character teaches them how to live off the land sort of. lol There is a lot of pirate talk as my android main character glitches a lot.

I have finally decided to try my hand at something a little bit easier than historical fiction this year. I'm writing a young adult story set in college. It's a music setting at a prestigious conservatory in New York City. Maybe Juilliard. I'm not sure yet. I've been to Juilliard before (sort of but not as a student). I don't know a lot about it, so I might just make it a fictional one so I don't have to worry about research (hehe). Anyway, my MC is a young woman who fell in love with piano playing at ten years old after hearing a thirteen year old prodigy playing at a world class piano competition for young musicians.

I'm pretty excited about the story as a whole. It's the first time I'm writing a music based story. I'm trained in singing and I dabble in piano playing also but I've never been able to conjure up the right story until now.

I've tried and failed in the past to complete NaNoWriMo three or four times, due to failing health reasons. This year, I'm trying to avoid even catching a cold, much less ending up in hospital again. I'm holing up indoors, eating healthy, drinking lots of water and tea, and working with writing buddies for the first time to help prep and plot together. I'm excited. :)

I've also tried NaNoWriMo in the past, but the reasons I've never done it are kinda silly, usually is just I forgot. I have no internal clock out calendar, so I never can keep track of what month it is, let alone what day xd. So usually I missed it by days, weeks, one time I missed it entirely xd. This time will be different, I've got alarms set to remind me xd so yeah.
