Just as the title says! If you don't know what to say, here are a few ideas to help get the ball rolling:

Name?
Language(s) you speak?
Why did you (or why do you want to) learn another language?
Favorite word in another language?
Hobbies?
What type of stories do you write?

こんにちは! I'm Stormie; I am a native English speaker and I also speak Japanese. My "fluency" in Japanese would be that I have had many conversations with native speakers online without having to look stuff up... or almost never :{D However, I haven't memorized all of the Kanji (one specific type of Japanese 'letter'), but considering that there are THOUSANDS it would probably be hard to do so. I plan on working on either French or Elvish (all dialects... no joke) next, once I have a better grasp on Kanji.

Other than learning languages, I love to knit (which I have done since I was 12), and write (which I have done since I was 14). My favorite genre is fantasy, but I love them all!

Hajimemashite! You can call me Nym. My mother tongue is Filipino but English is my second language. I'm currently studying Japanese so any tips would be very much appreciated. I've already memorized the Kana alphabet but I'm having trouble with the kanji. And I still cannot speak in Nihonggo.
My hobby is reading. I can literally spend the whole day reading. And then, there's my writing.
My favorite genre to write is fantasy. But I'm a sucker for a good romance so I'm practicing that as well.
Well, that's me.

@TheGirlWhoseStillUnKnown, よろしく! Kanji takes MANY years to learn, although the easiest way to learn that i have found is a sire called Wanikani. It gives you a few a day, starting with the most simple, and reviews for what you have learned as well, so you don't forget.

I'm Shadow, I unfortunately only speak english but love learning about other cultures and languages. I often set my stories in other countries and would love any insight I can gain. I'm new to penana so haven't uploaded many books but I am currently working on a book set in a japanese like culture and would love some insight once I get going on it!

May peace be upon you! The name's Mikha'il (a variation of the archangel's name Mikail/Michael).
I speak English & Malay. Currently learning German and will either be learning Mandarin or Arabic. I'm learning German because I want to work & live there (permanently)  and Mandarin/Arabic because it's required to finish my college.

I've got lots of favourite words in English, but the one I enjoy to say the most is 'rakish' and 'dwam'. Don't know why, but it's satisfying as hell. I'd say writing as my pastime but it tires me more than gives me pleasure. But it's better than drawing (stopped completely because it stresses me too much) so I guess that's my hobby? I also read and code when I have time. Currently obsessing over Detroit: Become Human so I guess watching clips of the games is considered to be a hobby? Heh, I don't know.

I write whatever I feel like writing (no particular favourite and such). I suck at poems though so there's only been a few attempts at that. It's expected from someone who writes in a very straightforward manner. I don't know why, but anything "deep", I find them to be.. dishonest. So I would be the last guy you'd expect to buy a poem book.

I'm a sprout on Penana right now but hopefully with time that changes. I've got a month off (semester break) and haven't got the energy to code for some reason, so I thought I'd fill it with writing. Looking forward to get to know you guys!

Hi! Welcome to the group! Writing can be a stress so don't force it. Most stories just flow on its own. I enjoy English but I haven't heard 'rakish' and 'dwam' before.

I used to obsess in games as well (well, until now) but since I've currently living with my aunt I stopped playing.

I look forward to learning with you!

@TheGirlWhoseStillUnKnown, hello Nym! thanks for the warm welcome :D

stories do flow on their own, but naturally you'd figure writing's not your forte when you've written over 100k words worth of story only to delete them after a moment. so i think i'll just stick to essays rather than stories.. sigh

and that's cool! my obsession with things are short lived all the time so next week it'll probably be gone already heh. i dont even play games.

me too! hit me up if you wanna learn Malay ;D it's a simple language to master, the problem only comes with the letter E because pronunciation-wise you never know whether it's ē or é :D

Hi! Sorry for the very late reply. Even though I like Penana I rarely get the chance to use it. So, are you still here or you've grown tired of it already? If you still are, I hope we get along!

@TheGirlWhoseStillUnKnown, still here! I don't check it as much because it's back to college, though. I only have 2 hours free time, and that's if I don't have anything going on. If you want to, we can message each other! You can message on Penana, right? I don't remember haha

Ðelai!
I'm Faren and I speak English natively, but know a pretty good amount of French, a bit of Spanish, Tok Pisin, and Swedish, and I'm intending to learn Welsh (Considering I live near the English-Welsh border.) Oh.. and I speak Wlyjnë, considering I created it... which leads me on to my hobbies, which are Conlanging (Creating fictional languages), writing, gaming, reading, and playing/creating music.

I tend to write fantasy short stories, but I intend on branching out.
