Despite the miles between us, my heritage was a rich tapestry woven from far more than just the threads of Hong Kong's vibrant life. It included touches of Taiwan, echoes of Teochew, whispers of Japan, and the subtle influence of Malaysian traditions, a nod to my grandmother's lineage. Each visit back to this multifaceted city wasn't just a homecoming; it was a plunge into the depths of my multicultural heritage, a dive into the familiar yet always surprising embrace of a world that shaped my identity in more ways than one.

As a young Asian boy navigating the complexities of identity in England, my soul was imbued with an insatiable curiosity about the rich tapestry of my ethnic heritage. Everyone wants to have a special ability, a gift that makes you stand out or perhaps a superpower, everyone wants to be seen, noticed, acknowledged and accorded respect, But the question is, is it that simple? Is it all pleasant? Imagine a life whereby you have a unique ability, a superpower, and to some extent a curse, imagine a life where you aren't normal and no matter how hard you try you just tend to stand out and capture people's attention ( and mind you it's not every attention that's positive), a life that sucks so bad to the extent that you can't walk on the street without getting weird glances and secret whispers. Well, if you can imagine that, then I guess you'd have an idea how the life of Jasmine Brown and Kyle Robertson's looks like.
