"Hello, is this Angelina Wylde?" came the still voice behind the line.
"Yes..." Angie replied, confused. "Who is this?"
"I'm from the hospital... I'm afraid your daughter, Amira Wylde, has been admitted. She got into an unfortunate accident on the road... "
"I'll be right there..." she replied, voice breaking. "Thank you,"
She at once hung up the phone, unable to process this information. She couldn't believe her ears. "No... no way..."
"Mom, is everything okay?" Oliver asked, as he was walking past his traumatised mother, who was seated on the couch texting someone, in order to head to the dining room.
"No... actually. I got a call from the hospital, and... I don't know how to say it, but... Amira got in an accident."
"WHAT?!" the boy yelled. "Will she be okay?"
"Yes, she will," she replied, voice sounding sad. "Now, I'm going to go see how she's doing. Luckily, Uncle Leo agreed to take care of you for a bit."
"Can't I stay here? I'll only be playing with my console. I won't burn the house down." Oliver whined.
"That's the problem. You won't even get up to do anything else. You'll have fun there, kiddo. Trust me."
"Fine..." he groaned.

Leo Wylde was the eccentric, curious younger brother of Angelina Wylde, always up to something new. Even after he got married, you'd think he had settled down. In fact, quite the contrary. He married a woman who mirrored his spontaneous nature. Because of the fact that he was rather infamous as the family prankster, he got along well with his nephew and niece.
He was a game developer by day and a travel vlogger by night. Oliver, being the avid gamer he is, went over to his uncle's place every week, to test out each and every update of the games before they were published.
"Whoa... the game is epic!" Oliver exclaimed, as he placed his video game console on the coffee table. He turned to his uncle, who was seated beside him, receiving the live commentary, proud of his work, yet, embarrassed by his glitches. "Thank you so much for letting me do this. I love it."
Leo smiled. "You're welcome, little dude. Ya know, you remind me of my best friend, Jay Winters."
"Who's that?"
"He's the younger brother of Ashton Winters, the CEO and founder of Winters, and your..." he paused, for a minute, a drop of sweat rolling down his forehead as he recalled his sister's lecture. He took a deep breath, then went on. "Your... favorite company's creator."
"He must be so lucky..."
"We came up with a whole scheme to become brothers-in-law... good times."
"So... you wanted my mom to marry a famous CEO..." Oliver muttered to himself.
"And Jayden wanted his brother to marry a famous author." Leo added.
Oliver's eyes widened with intrigue, his mind racing with possibilities. "Did it work?" he echoed, his curiosity piqued.
Leo chuckled, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. "Let's just say... life had other plans." he replied cryptically, evading Oliver's question with practiced ease.
As the afternoon wore on, Oliver found himself immersed in the world of gaming, his laughter echoing through the room as he tackled each level with determination. Leo watched with a sense of pride, grateful for the opportunity to spend quality time with his nephew.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the cityscape outside, Oliver reluctantly packed up his belongings, preparing to head home. "Thanks for today, Uncle Leo," he said, his gratitude evident in his voice.
Leo ruffled Oliver's hair affectionately, a fond smile gracing his lips. "Anytime, kiddo. You know where to find me if you ever need a gaming buddy," he replied, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
With a final wave, Oliver made his way out the door, his mind bursting with thoughts of the day's adventures. As he stepped into his mother's car, Leo's words lingered in his mind, sparking a newfound curiosity about the mysterious connection between his family and the enigmatic CEO of Winters Technologies.
