All right. I will return to mother diviner, for now. She is probably quite worried that I have become a wanderer.
The supply box is small enough for me to carry and still has some supply within. I can attach it to my belt and take it with us.
Arvie: “Master, do you remember how to strap a bow to your back?”
No, I don’t.
Arvie: “Let me help you.”
With a little struggle, we finally strap the bow and the arrows to my back then we get out of the cabin and begin to walk away when suddenly we hear a sound from behind us.
What just happened?
Arvie: “The cabin’s door has vanished, sir.”
Kyree, what are you doing?
Kyree: “You are the owner of this cabin, so I’ll lock and hide the door whenever you decide to leave, and show it whenever you return. It’s the routine procedure, and you have the position marked on your local map, so you can find it without any problem.”
Yes, here it is on the map. All right let’s begin our journey.
Arvie: “Master, it’s probably better to use your new life detection sense to see what is around us.”
Yes, that would be wise… Wow, I can sense so many critters around me.
Arvie: “You should be able to sense danger as well. Do you detect any danger around?”
I don’t know. I have no experience with this but there is no significant difference in the life forces around me, so maybe they are all harmless, let’s find out what they are.
I close my eyes and focus on the new life detection sense, then I look around and try to keep the new sense active in the background while trying to find the critters.
Gradually I get the hang of it and can use it with more ease, and we find many small and large critters around, but they are all harmless.
Sadly, I had forgotten all about these creatures but now I know quite a bit about them, thanks to Arvie, who is determined to be my companion teacher.
Eventually I understand that just like seeing, the larger the life force, the further away I can detect it, also I can detect a packed group of critters from further away than just one of them.
Arvie, I did not think about it before, but you are quite hard to detect and only when you are very close to me.
Arvie: “Master, are you trying to detect life within a droid?”
Hah, that was a good one, but why do I detect you?
Arvie: “Maybe you detect the tiny kaelin flows within me.”
Maybe. All right enough life detection. Let’s try the bow.
Taking the bow in my hand, I try to shoot a small Vessoro and fail miserably. The first shot hits the floor branches half way to the creature and the second one misses it widely to its left.
The third one hits the branches a few steps in front of it, which causes the creature to stare at us with one of its five eyes, and before I can shoot the next arrow, it looks down the floor gaps, jumps down in one of them and flies away.
Well, that was embarrassing.
Arvie: “This is only the beginning, sir. Your aim will get better with practice.”
I hope so. Let’s go back to the village.
Arvie: “Master, You should use the new resources and abilities at hand. I can mark the approximate location of the village on your local map and you can define a goal to reach the place. This way you can always sense the general direction toward the village.”
Great Idea. Let’s do it… Fascinating! Now I understand my previous urge to find the cabin. Yes, we should go that way.
Arvie: “Master, if we go in that direction, we’ll reach Foramundo and have to face the critters that dwell within or near the caverns. It’s better to find a way around the plateau, but you should walk carefully and keep your life detection active to avoid any outlaw that might try to possess your new bow.”
All right, let’s go.
The first few trunks are uneventful. We encounter a lot of critters in our way, and I keep practicing my marksmanship on them and actually hit a few, but we do not take any trophy with us.
We are trying to find a way around Foramundo toward the village but a sense of unease is growing within me without any apparent reason. Suddenly I sense a group of large life forms ahead on the other side of a huge spore tree.
Stop Arvie, I sense many large life forms ahead, and they have an alarming aura about them. This might be the danger sense you were talking about.
Arvie: “They might be Faen raiders. We should avoid them.”
We try to sneak around them, but reach the edge of the current trunk. There is an abyss in front of us and at the bottom we can see horrendous gasses covering the nether levels.
Looking back, I sense the life forms moving around the trunk and blocking our way back.
Now what? We are trapped here.
Arvie: “We cannot go back? Then we have to find our way to a lower layer of branches.”
Arvie zooms around for a while then returns to me.
Arvie: “Master, I found a way, please follow me.”
All right, but aren’t lower layers dangerous.
Arvie: “The stench of the nether would be a little more pronounced, and the wild life would probably be a bit more dangerous, but it is either the second layer, or the raiders at our back. Here it is, sir”
All right. Let’s do it.
Clinging to a suitable branch I slide down toward the lower layer branches, and with the help of Arvie, I finally jump on a leaf at the end of the long slide.348Please respect copyright.PENANAM7f1UqE2xl
