“So what do we do?” I asked.copyright protection4PENANADOgpwS21C4

“What do you mean?” Hestia asked confused.copyright protection4PENANANFIMjrp43E

“What I mean is what should we do next?” I clarified. “We can’t just sit here. The others are god knows where. We don’t even know if they still exist. We need to at least try to help them.” I urged.copyright protection4PENANAZt22Fj0gkh

“She’s right.” Sid agreed with me. “We at least need to find out for sure what happened.”copyright protection4PENANASY59nB2qCE

“Ok.” Hestia nodded. “What do you think we should do Lady Hera?” She asked. Sid and Demi were also looking expectantly at me. With Zack gone, I was technically in charge.copyright protection4PENANAvqkedDFCHI

“Why don’t we try to find Zack?” I said. Sid actually rolled his eyes, and Hestia dropped her gaze. “What? We went to school together! He is the only one that I actually know where to find.”copyright protection4PENANAgGcjJRCJ8X

Sid was shaking his head. “Look, no disrespect to your boyfriend. But he was a terrible god. Even if he is still alive, I’m not sure we want him back.”copyright protection4PENANA01W5bkHdKk

“He’s not my boyfriend.” Was the only thing I could think of to say. I knew that Zack had been the root of everything that had gone wrong on Olympus. And maybe Sid was right, maybe Zack would hurt us more than help us. “He is still one of us. He deserves for us to at least look for him.”copyright protection4PENANARfLbuYP9Aw

Sid sighed. “I disagree with you, but I will follow you if you do this.” He stood up. “He may not be your boyfriend, but he is more than a boy friend.” With that Sid walked away into the forest.copyright protection4PENANARRd3aWVNG4

I turned to Hestia. She said. “We might as well get under way.” She too stood up. Helping Demi to her feet she added. “Come on, let’s go find Zack.”copyright protection4PENANALH6HMh1uuM

“We walking the whole way?” I asked.copyright protection4PENANAOm2zywynF8

“Of course not.” Hestia said. “I have a few tricks up my sleeve. Sid, get over here!” Sid came as he was beckoned. Hestia offered her hands to Demi and Sid. Both of them took hold.copyright protection4PENANAUx08Ba4xYL

Sid offered me his hand. “This is just a start.” I told him grabbing his fingers. “We will find them all.” And away we went. I heard a pop, and I felt a reassuring warmth spread throughout my body. Then we were  in a bathroom.copyright protection4PENANABJsIrfZtJu

“Urgh!” Hestia exclaimed pinching her nose. “I wasn’t aiming for this stink hole.copyright protection4PENANAfyQi8oOGMu

Sid looked around and his eyes got wide. “You can’t be in here! He shouted pushing me and Demi towards the door. “This is a boy’s bathroom.”copyright protection4PENANAPG2POD0TaY

Demi yelped at this and closed her eyes. I was more annoyed. “I’m a Greek goddess, I can go where I want.” I told him stubbornly. Then the smell hit me and I added. “I want to go outside.” I exited the restroom gasping for fresh air. “What do you guys do in there!” I demanded. “That smelled worse than death.”copyright protection4PENANAFMI7u9muC6

“You don’t want to know.” Sid muttered darkly. “And for the record. I don’t ever remember smelling Blade.” He smiled and chuckled a little.copyright protection4PENANAYSFOaNdYtZ

“Very funny.” I muttered. Once my nose was clear I was able to look around. “This is my high school!” I realized.copyright protection4PENANAtjGv8v99oj

“Well duh!” Hestia muttered emerging from the bathroom. “You wanted to find out if Zack was still alive, this was his school. So I came here.”copyright protection4PENANA736PbAZy4B

“Good logic.” I muttered. “But we can’t just search every room for him.” I told her. “In fact, we probably shouldn’t even be here.”copyright protection4PENANAE2tjRD74CB

“This was your idea.” Hestia said. “You are supposed to come up with the plan. I’m merely the means of transportation.”copyright protection4PENANA45UKB3gKcE

“Ok.” I said. “What to do.” I had to come up with a plan on finding one boy in a school of two thousand. “Umm.”copyright protection4PENANA4kIaaUL9sP

“How about we have the office call him down?” Sid suggested.copyright protection4PENANAL7SerKSyPu

“What would we tell them?” Hestia asked. “Ah, yes. We are Greek gods here to see Zack. That would only get us arrested.”copyright protection4PENANAaTA4Eb8UWl

“Well then.” Sid said throwing his hands in the air. “Sorry I tried.” After that he just walked around looking at the posters on the lockers.copyright protection4PENANAz0GibQcW0F

“We aren’t even sure that Zack exists.” I reminded everyone. “We can’t just start wandering the halls looking for someone that might not even be alive.”copyright protection4PENANAMLNFZepRNe

“Bigfoot hunters do that all the time.” Sid shouted from down the hallway.copyright protection4PENANAmX8W2N8aH4

“Shh! There are classes going on all around us. We don’t want to get caught.” I warned him.copyright protection4PENANAvh5bAg2Nd2

“Hey.” He muttered. Sid grabbed a piece of paper and ripped it off the locker. He ran back to us. “Check this out.” he handed me the paper.copyright protection4PENANAsZNgENu4Fh

“Join Yearbook today?” I read. “No, I don’t really want to.” I told him. “I’m not the club person.”copyright protection4PENANAj1frYhe6rW

“No!” He said. “The school yearbook! You know, the thing that has the pictures of all the students in it?”copyright protection4PENANAbXeh9OybBL

“Oh!” I got it. “Zack will be in it!”copyright protection4PENANAe4K2kpPPuu

            “If he’s alive.” Hestia added.copyright protection4PENANA7NwmfvDuC5

“This is how we can tell real easy.” Sid said. “If he’s in the book, then we know he’s alive. If not, he never even knew life.”copyright protection4PENANAqN3F5ctDo5

            “Hey.” I muttered. “Have a little respect.”copyright protection4PENANAoDa9Fvzul3

“Just take us to the Yearbook room.” Hestia ordered. “Now.” I had never been in the Yearbook room, until now. It was just a couple desks with stacks on stacks of yearbooks.copyright protection4PENANAZsRwP61sBD

“Grab one and start reading.” I said. We all did, though Demi was just randomly flipping. We were at it for a while, until finally.copyright protection4PENANAy1rBHwObad

“I found him!” Sid shouted. He rushed over to the desk I was sitting in and shoved the book into my face. “You see, Zack is right there. Third from the left.” He pointed him out to me.copyright protection4PENANAhzQsJvXi0i

“My god.” I said awed. “He does exist.” I was happy to learn that Zack was alive, but now I was faced with another decision. Should we bring him with us? He didn’t have the best track record as a god after all.copyright protection4PENANAm0LewAky3V

“Let me see it.” Hestia took the book. “Yep that’s him.” She closed the book and started to hand it back. “Wait a minute.” She snatched it out of my outstretched hand and examined the front cover.copyright protection4PENANAcBXDdFa2Ql

            “What’s wrong?” Sid asked.copyright protection4PENANAg7U6zDCxWC

Hestia held the book so that the cover was facing us, this is last years. You see, this book is from last year. From before when Zack was a god.”copyright protection4PENANAQiDBw9cRIf

“So we just have to fine this year’s then.” I said. “We know that he exists at least. What could have happened to him in a year?”copyright protection4PENANANURLx5qI8h

Hestia flipped open to a random page. She pointed to a picture. “It hasn’t even been a year, yet the girl in this picture, and the one I’m looking at are polar opposites.” The photo was my yearbook picture.copyright protection4PENANA3ooXvYB8vx

She was right. I had changed so much since then. Not even counting becoming a goddess. The same could only be said for all the others as well. Not counting their deaths, if any of them were dead, which I hoped hadn’t happened. Never mind, I don’t want to think about that.copyright protection4PENANALmPoYmyaeg

“No big deal, we just find him in this year’s yearbook.” Sid said returning to the piles of books. “There has to be one here somewhere.”copyright protection4PENANAq1aiMIndrw

“No.” I said suddenly realizing. “This year’s yearbook can’t be done yet. The school years practically just started.”copyright protection4PENANAuuVTsqR4yn

“So a student manifest or something?” Sid suggested. “They have to have a list for when they do start working on it, right?”copyright protection4PENANABkJrIHNgS1

“I thought you wanted to leave Zack?” I asked turning to him. “Before you said we would hurt us more than he would help. What changed your mind?”copyright protection4PENANAxi3IAQqY3S

Sid took a deep breath. “I didn’t really like Zack. But I was being ignorant back there. I realized, that if Zack didn’t exist anymore because Zeus was dead, then the others wouldn’t exist either as their gods had never come to be without Zeus.” Sid sat down in a chair. “We can’t do this alone. We need the others. And finding Zack will let me know for sure that there are others to find.”copyright protection4PENANAuynqrPQjUp

The thought that there might not be any others had not occurred to me. I had only thought that they were living their mortal lives again. But now, with Sid’s thoughts in my head, I was scared. I was scared that we wouldn’t find the others. I was scared that there would be no others at all. “We will find Zeus.”copyright protection4PENANAGvJqWs7KI0

“Hey.” Demi shouted. We all turned to the little girl. She was waving a piece of paper in the air.copyright protection4PENANAMfiPXTGoSK

“Let me see Demi.” Hestia said. Demi handed it over. Hestia read the paper. “This paper has Zack’s name on it.” Hestia passed it to me with Sid looking over my shoulder.copyright protection4PENANAgniENKtE3o

The page looked like a piece of homework or a quiz. And Zack was written quite prominently across the top. “So he does exist.” I pointed to the date. “This paper was turned in last week.”copyright protection4PENANA4KTNaQgiBY

“Hmm, I didn’t figure Zack as the guy to take Yearbook.” Sid said squinting at the paper.copyright protection4PENANAineAdcuTBm

“He hates math, so he takes all these electives to escape it. Anyways, that’s not important right now.” I muttered.copyright protection4PENANADSJWwwG0aK

“So, should we wait here for Zack to come to class?” Sid asked. “Or try to find him?”copyright protection4PENANAoeui2E8jWJ

“It’s up to you Kara.” Hestia deferred to me. “We will obey your wishes.”copyright protection4PENANAie7wPlJjel

“We leave.” I said making up my mind.copyright protection4PENANAGSdpOKWvL7

“And come back again tomorrow?” Sid asked. “That’s a waste of time I think. Why don’t we stick around and try to find him?”copyright protection4PENANAf9mJrpnAIk

“No,” I said speaking softly, “We are leaving. And we aren’t coming back.” I had decided that Zack would serve us best as he was now. He wasn’t fit to be a god, let alone king of the gods.copyright protection4PENANAk0zrxoMhI1

“Leave him here?” Hestia asked. “Why the change of mind?”copyright protection4PENANACoUQOIAKdl

            “Zack is alive.” I said.copyright protection4PENANAStvecXDAxl

            “Yes.” Hestia said.copyright protection4PENANAVSmujTS6aB

            “But Zeus is dead.” I continued.copyright protection4PENANA8MZ2DOLeyZ

“That is true also.” She added.copyright protection4PENANAArs5FF2jfA

“So he wouldn’t be able to help us with his god powers. Besides, he would do more damage than good. We don’t need him.”copyright protection4PENANAFas1FMUxT5

“We don’t need him, but we need someone!” Sid shouted. “We messed up everything as gods. We have to fix it, and to do that, we need some backup.”copyright protection4PENANA92R84vXQJw

“Exactly. That is why we will go and pick up the others.” I said. “Hestia, you picked up Deon and Adele in the first place, could you get us back to them?”copyright protection4PENANAPjXipCXrVd

            “Yes.” She nodded.copyright protection4PENANA2BovC3hwBb

“Good.” I walked over to the door. “We leave Zack to his normal life. He is king here as he was on Olympus. Why don’t we let him enjoy it?”copyright protection4PENANABKdtTiZQ8I

“Your, the boss.” Sid said shrugging. “But are we going to pick up the others? They aren’t gods now either, does that mean we won’t use them?”copyright protection4PENANAmY1jgqWeSS

“I don’t know.” I admitted. “But we can definitely talk to them about it when we get there.” I motioned to Hestia. Like before she offered her hands. I grabbed hold along with Demi. Sid stood where he was.copyright protection4PENANArVtPq5SHCt

He smiled. “I’m glad you in charge Kara.” He took my hand. “You at least have a plan.”copyright protection4PENANASee5I7oHXw
