Right, so I had this idea...
Y'know... poems?
And, y'know... me?
Also, y'know... types of poems?
Well, I like to write a lot of freestyle, random, whatever comes to my head poems, and sometime they're good and sometimes they are really not. There's so many types of poetry in the world! Why stick to freestyle?
Therefore I decided I would make it my mission to write a poem for every type of poem there is... until I realised how many there are, and that I might have my work cut out for me.
There's roughly seven MAIN types:
7 Common Types of Poetry and Their Unique Features (yourdictionary.com)381Please respect copyright.PENANAeKJee7L0sm
(this website says that there are 50 types in total)
Then I saw this site:
List of 168 Poetic Forms for Poets | Types of Poems and Poetry - Writer's Digest (writersdigest.com)381Please respect copyright.PENANA0lEx8dkeEk
And you can see from the name... this one says there are 168 types...381Please respect copyright.PENANAWvWAYHaw4u
In the end, I found a website that says that there are 27 types and lists and explains them:
Types of Poetry: The Complete Guide with 28 Examples (scribophile.com)381Please respect copyright.PENANA2ZVOZZ6pkf
SO, IN CONCLUSION, what do you think? Should I give it a shot? I'd definitely use the last site, I think.
Also, one of the types from the last link has an... interesting name.
