Here's a weird one.
When I was little, the concept of time was incredibly confusing to me. Still is.

I would always think about sleep. When you go to sleep, you wake up immediately. You don't experience the in-between.
For context, my brother always went to bed before me. I would check if he was sleeping, and when he was, I would know that he isn't really sleeping. For him, it was already tomorrow, so he was probably eating breakfast. Because, like I said, you wake up instantly after you fall asleep - so surely right now, he isn't sleeping at all, he's already awake again.
Does that make sense?
This was quite an isolating concept. I thought, if nobody goes to sleep at the exact same time, then we could be running a few seconds, minutes or even days behind each other. Maybe, even though there were so many people around me, we weren't running on the same time. I was alone.
