If mythical creatures only exist in folklore, are they truly fictional? Or just kept under very tight wraps?

Hazel Adams is a timid high school student who spends all her time hiding from people and reading about Japanese urban legends. Those tales are far more interesting than her boring life, after all.

But monsters don't just live in stories.

Not only are these creatures very real, but a secret society of wizards also monitors and polices supernatural activity all around the world. To make matters worse, they just accidentally let four Japanese monsters- also known as Yokai- loose in Hazel's city.

Now, Hazel must work alongside these wizards to track them down before the unleashed Yokai threaten the balance between the natural and supernatural worlds.

In the world of Empyrea, the once-bright future has been reduced to ashes. The Æbyssal Triumvirate has entered into the realm and ravaged the land and corrupted its people with the hammer that the Covenant of the Void was allowed to become over time. Despite the warnings of the ancient Order of the Dragoon, Empyrea's reliance on Æther, the revolutionary power source that was meant to bring prosperity and progress, has instead led it to ruin: once-holy places are now desecrated, and the people live in constant fear of persecution. However, the Coalition Against the Æbyss continues to exist in the North of Empyrea, and it may have discovered a weakness it can exploit if it can find the right people.
