A gust of wind brought water droplets from the sky rushing down the grass at Patronal Desmene, Dublin area. The red and blue siren lights seemed to break the darkness of the night, cutting through the puddles which caused irregular mudflows right at the words "Ambulance".
The car was parked right on the tarmac with lines and white writing that immediately recognized it was a parking lot. After the car's engine was turned off, two officers took shelter in an umbrella, then walked quickly following a path between the neatly cut grass, until they came to a door two people wide.
#Knocks, Knocks!
"Who is there?" asked a woman though her eyes were peeking through the “O” shape of the door.
"Is this some kind of quiz, Madame Murtlock?"
#Ckrack! Geeek~
The door opened, one of the officers closed and put his umbrella on the umbrella rack near the entrance. The middle-aged woman with glasses ordered the two ambulance officers to enter and offered dinner.
"Sorry, another time. Today we want to go home early."
Even though they refused, the woman called Madame Murtlock offered two cups of hot cocoa and four chocolate nibs to take with them on the journey.
"What's wrong this time, Mr. Braud? Mr. Gideons?”
"Ah, this one is quite sad, isn't it, Gid?" the bald man turned to his rather thin friend.
“This woman is battered! Looks like she's been beaten! Eh, maybe a rape victim too?”
Two younger women in the same uniform as Madame Murtlock, the nun's uniform, suddenly came running up to them after hearing the words "woman" and "rape".
#Tch! Hah…. (Sighed)
"Where did you find it?" Madame Murtlock shook her head in surprise. Even the two nurse behind her also wore worried faces.
“Davheinport Street, Darkey!”
"Actually, it's not surprising. The place was filled with rich people. They will do anything to drive out the poor! Especially crazy people!” exclaimed the bespectacled man named Braud.
Madame Murtlock was silent for a moment. She seemed a little bothered.
"Susan, Abi, help them!" Madame Murtlock ordered the two younger nurses.
Susan, a woman with a cute and charming face with a short ponytail. Meanwhile Abigail, is a gentle and innocent woman, a little red freckles on her cheeks and wears circle glasses.
Susan fetched another umbrella, and then the four of them walked away from the red brick building with a conical roof, toward the ambulance. The two young sisters carried umbrellas to protect them.
#Jeg!
The back door of the car opens. Suddenly the noses of the two young nurses were tickled by something.
"What's this smell, Mr. Brad? Smell so bad!” Susan screamed and gasped, now pinching her nose. “Are you guys some sort of hero? How come you're so random at picking people up?"
Not only Susan, Abigail also felt that way. It's just that Abigail is more managing the language she wants to express.
“Regardless, Miss Susan, the person who did this is too much!” The ambulance attendant named Gideon immediately turned on the flashlight from his pocket cell phone. "Look! Anyone who sees this will definitely think the same!”
The woman hair was disheveled, her checkered shirt was shabby and looked wet, and she was only wearing underpants. Most of her body was covered with bruises, while her nose and mouth were covered with slightly dried blood scars. This woman is devastated, completely destroyed mentally and physically. She just cried softly whether it was pain in her body or heart.
"Well, on second thought, you are right Mr. Gideon." Susan gave a small nod. Now that the smell was no longer a problem, Susan felt sorry for the woman.
“Mr. Braud, Mr. Gideon, did anyone report this? Or you two just happened to be passing by?”
"Well, about that…"
The two ambulance officers said they actually got a lot of phone calls around Davheinport, so most people kept their numbers. The two ambulance officers admitted that they often received personal requests.
It's just that at that time there was a call from an unknown number. The person with the unknown number made the payment via transfer. The person with the unknown number simply said Davheinport area, a small alley with a large pub near the bridge.
"We didn't expect that the absurd address would turn out to be easier. It's just… this is very unexpected! This woman is dying and needs help!” explained Mr. Braud
“Hey, that means you guys are skipping work, right!? Geez, Ambertcourt Hospital should be stricter!” muttered Susan with a chuckle.
#Hah…. (Sighed)
"You don't have good grades apart from your chest and body don’t you, Miss Susan?" Mr. Braud adjusted his glasses.
“Hey, what did you say!?”
"B-By the way, we didn't skip classes. It was right after we dropped off the drugs at Port'O Neal Avenue anyway. At the same time, we have photographed the woman as evidence if asked, "
The officer named Gideon held out the photo.
“O-oh…. But, why did you choose this place out of all the hospitals?”
“Is that because there's no place to be kind? I heard from the talk of the nurse at this place before, they accept patients whose origins are unclear to be treated, right?"
Abigail nodded uncertainly. “Ahaha…, you guys went a bit overboard in that first part I guess?” she chuckled doubtfully.
The woman was carried like a princess, with two ambulance officers. While the two young nurses protected them with umbrellas.
When they got there, Madame Murtlock was surprised by the smell and condition of the woman. She immediately ordered Abigail and Susan to wash the woman. Of course, two ambulance officers helped carry the woman all the way to the bathroom.
Then, the two ambulance officers were about to say goodbye.
“Wait a minute, you guys without permission just put that woman in our place! And you also accept private payments. Doesn't God love you so much today, Mr Braud, Mr. Gideon!?" Madame Murtlock squinted at the two humans.
“Eh… um….. Ehehehe?”
"W-well, does Madame Murtlock really want to take the money?" Gideon seemed afraid to look at the middle-aged woman in front of him. He kept turning to his friend to quickly finish this little business.
"Wait a moment! If you run away, you will see the consequences!” Madame Murtlock left the two humans with the door open.
Braud and Gideon who felt threatened, they didn't dare to do anything.
in two minutes,
Madame Murtlock handed one of the officers a pen.
“Um… Madame?”
“This signature is proof that foreign patients from the Ambercourt Hospital ambulance were received by us. This letter is a continuation and reference for some of the drugs and such that we have requested from Ambercourt Hospital!”
“B-but…?” Mr. Braud glanced at his partner.
“Don't tell me you're also dumping all the responsibility onto us!?” Madame Murtlock protested emphatically.
“Ah, s-fine we'll sign it soon!”
After the paper was signed, Madame Murtlock put it in an envelope and led them away. Madame Murtlock had threatened that if the papers were not delivered, she would report the officers.
Now, the two officers are gone. Meanwhile Madame Murtlock was still shaking her head in astonishment.
#Hah…. (Sighed)
(How should I take care of that woman? After all, we are also overloaded….. But, I can't bear it either…..)
(Well, who else could it be? There's nowhere else but here….)
(Although, P. Audagird Hospital is not in good financial condition…..)
Madame Murtlock let the worries slip through her mind.
Then, she closed the door from the inside. With anxiety, of course.
