The challenge today is to describe what happened in the video. You can write it in the perspective of either of the two men, and make it in first or second person. (Kudos if you can do it in the second, I think that would be very interesting to read and difficult to describe!)

Be as descriptive and interesting as possible! Paint to me a picture of every emotion in this video. I want to be able to know the exact moment in your writing where the electric man decided to laugh at his own jest, and when exactly the banana man's fearful concern shaped to frustrated rage at the realization that he was being fooled.

You will be judged on grammar, word choice, and creativity. Let's see some amazing word play, and have fun! :)

This is less of a contest, and more of a whole lot of fun, but this was the only way I could get a ton of writers on one prompt. I'm pretty bummed that it has to be a contest, you're all winners in my book, mais, c'est la vie.

So, here it is. The challenge today is: Quick Writes! You are allowed 3 minutes to write to your heart's content about whatever pops into that creative, magnificent mind of yours. Time yourself, have someone else time you, ask Siri to time you! You're only allowed3 MINUTES. If the timer stops in the middle of a sentence, finish that sentence, and write nothing more!

But, here's your catch: your quick write has to be based off the last sentence of the previous issue! That's right! THE LAST SENTENCE OF THE PREVIOUS ISSUE!Bonne chance!

Make your last sentence bold, italicized,underlined, CAPITALIZED, or even insert a

horizontal line bar

to separate it from the rest of your work. Just make sure it's easily distinguishable from the rest.

Remember contestants, you CANNOTread anyone else's issue EXCEPTfor their LAST SENTENCE. We can all enjoy the promisingly majestic story after the contest is over. :)

So, I think this would be the most efficient and organized way to attempt this. First, those who wish to write should join as a challenger. Then, comment with 'First' if you are first to comment for a spot. Then, comment 'Second' if you are second to comment for a spot. Then, comment 'Third' or 'Fourth' or 'Fifth' ect ect, in accordance to when you managed to comment. Whomever commented 'First' is our first quick write and is allowed to choose a topic. Whomever commented 'Second' bases their quick write off of the last sentence of the previous issue (the 1st issue.) Whomever commented 'Third' bases their quick write off of the last sentence of the previous issue (the 2nd issue) and so on and so forth.

If it is your turn to write, please don't dawdle. There might be others anxious to write after you. No one has to fuss over grammar and spelling. You only have 3 minutes, so don't worry about it. This is more for fun than a competition, but I hope it also challenges you. :)

I know, what a long contest explanation, right?! But this can only truly succeed with the honest system and working together as a community. It's a well-known fact that the end of a story is always the hardest part.

Well, now it's time to put your skills to the test!

You can finish it in any way you want, make it short or long, I don't mind, but with the following story prompt I would like you to finish the story.

I just felt like doing a contest so here it is:

Your going to write a poem. It can be about anything (I usually like writing about romance, this is one poem I wrote for example:

When you broke my heart,

The pain was unbearable.

But I still stood up,

With my head held high.

When my heart was mended,

By the person I once loved,

I could've been so happy.

But,

He broke my heart once,

I'll never let him break it again

Here is another idea (I also wrote):

I smile when,

My lover walks in the room.

His face shows purehappiness,

Which makes me happy too.

Because,

I know that,

​It was me,

That made him smile.

Those are some ideas, you can write about anything you want to.

You are going to write a one-shot based on this quote. The one-shot will be about your character's timer hitting zero. The winner will have a story of their choice promoted in every way possible. Email, forums, I'll even post a link to it on Tumblr. Now get writing, because you have four weeks.

Write something about horror and mystery, make it something I have never heard about. Probably something fictional or maybe something that's real but you make it into a fictional world.
