In another kingdom, a young girl was sitting at a piano. She had blonde hair that went straight down past her shoulders, and she stared at the keys.
She lifted her small hands up and placed them over a few of the keys.
Her fingers began to move quickly and expertly, playing Chorus Novae Jerusalem at double the speed, then improvising a new melody on top of it with a barrage of notes.
“Lena!”
A loud shout made the girl jump and stop playing.
A middle aged woman dressed head to toe in royal clothing stormed into the room.
“What do you think you’re doing?” She asked in German.
Lena stared at the woman and didn’t say anything.
“Behave yourself. Play something simple.” The woman said before loudly slamming the door.
Lena turned back and stared at the piano.
The sound of loud talking and partying could be heard through the walls.
Lena sighed and went back to playing the piano, quieter than before.
She played Chorus Novae Jerusalem at its normal tempo, boring and basic music that seemed to drive her crazy.
Lena looked up at the ceiling as she played, not hitting a single wrong note without even looking.

Lena was now a few years older, sitting on a small throne next to the woman dressed in even more elaborate clothing. Next to her was a handsome man, dressed in even more extravagant and expensive looking clothing.
Lena looked forward as a middle aged man was playing a harp. Another played a flute and a third played a drum.
There was a young girl in front of who was singing a song.
The music was somber and slow, driving Lena crazy as her leg was bouncing in varying subdivisions of the tempo.
The woman next to her reached over and softly hit her in the back of the head, making Lena look up at her.
“Behave.” She mouthed to Lena, who turned her attention back to the music.
Once the music ended, the man and woman both applauded.
“What a lovely song. The King is most pleased.” The man said as he stood up.
The woman very quickly got up as well, as if it was unplanned.
“And your Queen is as well.” She said with a wide smile.
The woman waved her hand around to try and make Lena stand up.
Lena did and looked at the group of musicians.
“It was…fine.” Lena said.
The musicians all looked surprised when Lena suddenly began to walk down from the elevated thrones and in front of the musicians.
The Queen wanted to chase after her, but the King reached out to hold her hand and keep her back.
Lena looked over the musicians, seeming to think as she stared at them and the instruments.
“Perhaps you could try something like this.” Lena said when she took the harp politely from the player.
She began to strum and pluck it into a beautiful sounding melody. Then she handed it back to the player, who seemed to struggle to copy it exactly. Then Lena went to grab the basic, single headed drum and played a rather intricate rhythm on it.
The player watched intently and was handed the drum back, struggling to play it exactly the same.
Finally, Lena grabbed the flute and began to play a counter melody to the harp, improvising completely as the harp player began to add little flourishes and chords underneath.
Lena handed the flute back to the player, who did his best to improvise even half as well as Lena did.
The young girl singer looked at Lena nervously. Lena went over and held her hand.
“Sing from your heart.” Lena said with a smile before she took a few steps back.
The girl looked at the musicians playing and tapped her foot along.
She could be seen running through so many ideas in her head, which finally settled as she began to sing the words to Salve Regina, except at a much faster tempo with a different melody and harmony.
All of the musicians seemed very happy and energetic as they played, Lena bouncing along off to the side as they performed.
The King had a very large smile on his face, but the Queen hid her fear and disappointment.

Later that night, the Queen was tucking Lena into her bed.
“I never…ever want you to do that again.” She said.
Lena looked confused as she sat up.
“But Mother…” Lena started.
“No. We are guests here. I am a Queen now, and you aren’t going to ruin this, understood?” She said in a tense and cold voice.
Lena stopped talking and only nodded.
“Now, we have a guest tomorrow. Your Fath…sorry. Your King wishes for you to perform for them, but you play the music as it is supposed to be played, understood?” She asked sternly.
“Yes.” Lena replied.
“Yes what?” Her Mother asked.
Lena sighed and faked a big smile.
“Yes Mother.” Lena said.
Her Mother quickly shook her head side to side.
“No. We have talked about this. Yes what?” She asked again.
“Yes my Queen.” Lena said.
Her Mother shivered with a soft cheer.
“Oh that always feels good.”
She kissed Lena on the forehead and quickly left the room, shutting the door rather forcefully.

The next day, Lena was dressed in a very expensive dress that was as white as snow, standing with her hands in front of her clasping tightly with the King and Queen sitting in their thrones behind her.
The doors opened on the far side of the hall, another King making his way through with a few of his guards.
Lena looked back at her Mother, who waved her hand towards her.
Lena turned back and let out a quiet sigh before he began to sing Salve Regina as it was supposed to be sung.
As she sang, the King drew closer and closer.
An organ was playing alongside Lena as she sang, along with other musicians playing instruments such as harps, flutes, and bowed string instruments to fill the large hall with so much beautiful music.
“Interesting decision. Adding instruments to a Holy chant.” The visiting King said in French as he listened, clearly enjoying it.
The King and Lena’s Mother made their way down, passing Lena as she kept singing.
The King’s shook hands firmly, followed by the visiting one kissing Lena’s Mother’s hand.
“The music was actually written by the young girl singing.” The King said in French.
Lena’s Mom looked uncomfortable, but then the other King looked over at Lena.
“Oh really?” He asked in a creepy voice.
“Yes. She is my…” The King started.
“She is our very talented daughter.” Lena’s Mother interrupted.
The visiting King nodded and smiled as his eyes were locked on Lena singing.
“Very impressive. You must be so proud.” He said.
“Oh yes, very much so.” Lena’s Mother said.
The visiting King couldn’t take his eyes off of the young Lena.
Lena’s Mother suddenly jumped forward.
“Would you like to have her?” She asked.
The music suddenly stopped as Lena ran forward. The woman’s husband looked shocked while the visiting King had a grin on his face.
“I will give you whatever you ask for.” He replied with a bow.32Please respect copyright.PENANA9XD3PIbefX
Lena’s Mother looked like she was in a trance, imagining so much wealth and power.
Her husband pulled her aside.
Lena couldn’t hear what they were discussing, but her heart was beating nearly out of her chest.
Lena took a few steps back before turning to her Mother.
The King seemed defeated and he rubbed his face.
Lena’s Mother quickly ran back to the visiting King as Lena looked at the eyes of her new Father.
He looked back full of sorrow and sadness.
“You can have her for a year’s worth of gold.” Lena’s Mother said loudly.
Lena swallowed hard.
The visiting King looked at her and smiled before shaking hands firmly.
“That is no problem. In fact…I’ll give you two years worth.” He replied.
Lena’s Mother nearly fainted from the amount of money.
Lena felt her body wanting to run but also frozen in fear and shock.
“Deal.” Lena’s Mother said in an orgasmic tone, having to fix her clothing as her husband walked over.
Lena’s Mother hugged him tightly, not even looking at her own daughter that she just sold.
“Come here little one.” The visiting King said as he motioned for Lena to come over.
Lena didn’t move, looking at her Mother’s husband. He looked sorry, but nodded his head forward.
Lena could feel herself on the verge of crying, but she very slowly made her way over, taking her new King’s hand in her own.
She looked up at her parents, her Mother still not looking at her.
“This is such a wonderful day!” Lena’s Mother said loudly as she danced around.
Lena looked down at the ground as the tears began to run down her face.
The King, her old King, kneeled down in front of her and used his expensive robe to wipe her tears away.
“Don’t worry little one…I’ll find a way to bring you back.” He whispered to her in German.
He gave her a warm and loving smile, which made Lena try her best to smile back.
She jumped forward and wrapped her arms around his neck tightly.
“I love you.” Lena said in German.
He seemed to be caught off guard, like that was the most emotional thing he had ever been told.
His arms very slowly wrapped around Lena as he himself began to get teary eyed.
“I..I…love you too.” He said and smiled.
They hugged for a few seconds before Lena was the one to step back.
They looked at each other for a bit.
“Promise?” She asked.
“I promise.” He replied as he wiped his eyes.
Lena swallowed hard and looked over at her Mother who was still dancing around with pure joy.
Lena didn’t say anything to her, only turning around and walking down the massive hall with her new King.
“I’ll make sure you get your payment before the end of the month.” The King said as he quickly walked away, following Lena out through the doors.
The guards all followed as they left the King of the kingdom down on his knees, staring down at his shaking hands and the red rugs that cost more than most people’s homes.
He broke down into tears, crying as his wife continued to dance.
