(Anita Amour)
We entered a neighbourhood called RoseMary Falls.
There were small pink brick houses across from each other, and beside the bunch of houses, were local shops.
“I haven’t been here before.” Vera said.
I smirked. “I did.”
He squinted. He usually does that when he thinks something is suspicious, or when he thinks I’m lying. “You have?”
I sighed. “No.”
He gasped. “We’re lost!”
“Quiet down!” I yelled in a low tone. “We can turn around and go back. We’ll just wing through the battle I guess.” I grabbed his hand and started moving until my eye caught something in one of the windows. “Weapons!” There were weapons hung on the wall inside the building at the end. It was different from the others. Its shade of pink was strong, and there was a large singular window; unlike the others which looked older and had several windows.
“Good eye,” He said. “Let’s get them and quickly head back.”

“It looks better now that they’re up close.” I said after we walked inside the place. There were metal hammers, axes and knives. There were even blades.
Vera placed his hands on his hips. “They’re stocked.”
I elbowed him. “Obviously. Let’s grab them.” That’s when I heard the door slam close.
“Duck!” I whispered.
We instantly ducked behind a counter.
“What are we doing?” Vera asked. “This is a store, right? It was next to the houses.”
I hugged my knees. I was unsure why. Maybe I was just startled. I looked side to side. My eyes widened. There was a carpet on the side that read: WELCOME HOME
“Vera,” I whispered. “We need to leave.”
“What do you mean?” He whispered back.
“This isn’t a store. We broke into someone’s house!”
“What?! But it didn’t look like the other ones.”
“Maybe it was a very late or very old version. Either way, this isn’t a store. We have to go.”
“It’s over. We’re done for!”
“Shh!” I put my finger to my lips. I heard murmuring from in front of the counter. I sat up to steal a glance before ducking back down. “Someone is blocking the door. We have to hide elsewhere until they leave. Then we’ll sneak out. Let’s hurry upstairs.”
“But-”
“Now.” I ordered, cutting Vera off.
Vera followed me as we hurriedly went up the stairs and into the first room. It was a small bedroom with a thick yet a cozy looking quilt, and a dresser with sea creature figurines. There turned out to also have a window.
“We have no time to jump out the window,” I said, before turning around. Vera was gone. “Vera?” Then I felt a hand seizing my ankle and pulling me under the bed. I almost screamed before I realized it was Vera. “We’re going to hide here? What if they find us?”
“Let’s hope they don’t.” He replied.
