"What?" I say to Connor laughing "who peed in her cheerios?" Connor said, "she's always like this, I think she needs a boyfriend" I whisper, "that's funny" he says, where did you transfer from? "mc Bryan have you heard of it?" he says "no" I say, why did you leave? "Too many people knew about me," he says, "what is that supposed to mean?' I say, whatever you want it to mean he winked, and with that the bell rung. I turned around to pick up my bag when I turned to look at Connor he was gone
"Woah that boy was fast," I said
"Lani come on!" Leah called
"What were you looking at?" Leah asked
"Nothing I thought I saw a llama," I said with a grin
"WHAT WHERE" Leah yells
Sometimes Leah can be stupid but I loved her
The next couple of classes went by in a blur. Florence, nash, wes, Leah and I were walking to lunch, we sat at our usual table, we put our thinks down, then headed to the lunch bar. We all sat down with our lunch and talked about our weekend
"Leah what did you do this past weekend?"I asked
"I stayed home and watched movies. It sucked" she said aww that's better than what I did "what did you do" wes asked wiggling his eyebrows "well I broke up with Luke because I caught him cheating on me with some girl at a party we went to on Sunday" I said "sorry lani you did not have to tell me if you didn't want to" he says apologetic, "it's OK I'm over it" I said with a weak smile
After taking a bite of my food, I let my eyes wonder the cafeteria, as I was looking around I noticed Connor staring at me, I looked away and got up to go to the bathroom.washing my hands I take one more glimpse at myself before I head out, as I'm walking out of the bathroom I trip on something that's in front of the door, "ouch I hissed" with tears filling my eyes, I look down to check my knees.
"Are you ok?" Someone asked behind me
"No, I just fell and scraped my knee," I said looking at my bloody knee
I looked up to see Conner looking at me with pained eyes "Here let me look at it" he says
"ok" I say while letting him take a look at my knee, next thing I know he says don't move and puts his hand on my bloody cut, "what are you doing?" I hiss. He says nothing and then the pain goes away, " I think it's fine now you can stop" I say he smirks and let go "you should clean up the blood" he says helping me up and with that he leaves. I walk to the nurses office to get my cut cleaned and a band aid, "Hi Leilani how can I help you" she asked with a smile, "umm I need to get my cut cleaned and a band aid, "OK just come to my office" she says pointing to her office. "So Leilani what happened," she asked "I tripped coming out of the bathroom" I answered aww is all she says before taking a cotton swab and whipping my cut
"Umm, Leilani?" She asked
"Yes" I answered
"There is no cut here," she says
What?! I say
"I'm pretty sure I tripped and scraped my knee," I say looking at my knee
"Maybe you fell and didn't draw blood?" She says shrugging her shoulders
"But what is that red stuff? I ask
"Maybe you got ink on your pants' she says with a concerned look
I'm not crazy I know what I saw,
Then I remembered how Connor put his hand on my open cut, maybe he had something to do with it, then all these questions rushed into my head
What if he has super powers? Is that why he moved schools because someone found out?
I started to feel dizzy
"I think I'm gonna go home and rest," I say loudly
"OK honey I will write you a pass," she says, and with that I left school, went home, took a shower and got in bed
This is no over, tomorrow I will have a talk with conner that's all I remember before sleep overtook me
