I was 17 when I read a book that everyone was talking about. It was everywhere on social media, hailed as amazing—a must-read. Curious, I decided to read it too, just to see what the hype was about. At the time, I didn’t really get it. There were things in the story I didn’t understand, but I kept reading because I felt I should.
A few months ago, I found that same book again and decided to give it another try.
This time, all I could see were red flags and the protagonist’s naive choices.
I soon realized I didn’t enjoy it at all—it was filled with emotional triggers and dark romance. I still don’t understand how I managed to read it back then.
So, I stopped and left it unfinished this time.
