Books, we go to books when we are bored
Or when we are sad and looking for an escape
Books are like people
Fiction, and nonfiction
Some people spend money to look good, they are your fiction people
They are the people who don’t love themselves and are scared to be what god created them to be
Then there are the people who love themselves for who they are
They are your nonfiction people
They may not spend thousands to try to be pretty, but instead they give the world the finger
Then there are the stories that are fake but with a truth behind it
Almost like a mask
These are people who despise and hate the one thing they should love
They put on a smile for people and for the internet so people stop asking “why are you crying?”
We hide because unlike books we are ourselves but only by ourselves
We chose to be fiction in public and nonfiction in a dark room so people don’t see
Like a book, we are nonfiction and our scars on our wrists are the lines to a story
Our smile is the cover, our name is the intro, our history is our story and our death is the resolution
People judge a book by what the cover looks like but the story on the inside is always different
Like books turning the page leads to more destruction and pain
Unlike a book we bleed
And like a book it can either be hard to understand or easy
Do we look to a book when we are sad, NO?
Instead we hide behind the cover hoping they forget the words before them
We hope they see the cover and move on
To leave us alone
But we look inviting
Using us then and reading our story
Then leaving us on a shelf, with the story forgotten and uncared for
Looked over like it was nothing
Just like a book we have a cover
And just like a book we have a story, bad or good
Just like a book
There is always a tragic ending.
Our ending.
