[Question] Are there any subjects you're specifically interested in a lesson for?

Do you have a specific subject or area which you'd like a lesson on? Any places you need improvement in, for example. I'm just looking for a place to start.
Thanks!

Commas, specifically how to keep from going overboard?
2nd person POV? It's challenging for me

@roseofnoonvale,

You'd like to know more about second person narrative? (Continuing in all seriousness) That would be a good way discuss tenses as well as narritive pov's. The comma one would be a great puntuation series; colons, semi-colons, dashes, hyphens, periods, and all that jazz: definitely good starting places.
Thanks for the feedback!

@Pencil Melody,  your welcome. And may be a good idea to do lessons on commonly misused words like to/too/two, your/you're, its/it's and such. A lot of people make mistakes with those

I get accept/except mixed up, and words like that. And um...I can't think of the word but theirs a word and it helps you write so the character sounds like the area they're from

@XXjoeyXX,

That'll defintely be a good subject to start with then.
I'm not necessarily sure which word you're talking about. It's not 'accent' is it?

Thanks!

@Pencil Melody, I think he means colloquial language, or language of a region. Which accents would affect that

@roseofnoonvale, yes that! I have no idea exactly what colloquial language is...OK I sorta do but...

@roseofnoonvale,
That's what I figured he meant. For instance, when you're trying to write a character with a southern accent, all those "howdy folks" and "bless your hearts." Thank you for clarifying!

Hey! I know that some people have trouble with grammar (including myself). Maybe just a series of lessons addressing the most common grammar errors in stories? Or maybe one in Sentance structure?

@Stormie Dawn,

Thanks for the suggestion. I was considering this subject, and will continue to work on it. I feel so bad; I really haven't done a lot for this group.

@Pencil Melody, Naw, it's okay. Oh is it love the concept of the whole thing, helping the writers. Most groups are about random thing, but this one actually is making us better as writers. Good job!

Is there anything I can do? I see the posts help, etc. and no one has responded (except to one) but I don't know if they still want the help or grade, etc.

Well, there are a lot of stories that need grading.  If you need the grading sheet it can be found in the related thread about grading. Now if you're not sure whether someone still wants a grade or not, I would simply reply to them in the thread, starting with the grade request that's oldest in date.

I don't recall if anyone has asked about tutoring yet, but either way, I will work on a method for tutors to use and then present it to the staff to vote on.

Thank you for your willingness to help! ^-^ I greatly appreciate it.

@Pencil Melody, you're welcome :) and I'll read the grading thread and I'll ask on the thread if you want

@Anastasiabelle,

Thank you so very much!

Looking back on my previous comment, I realized that I made a statement that made it seem like you should post the question in the staff discussion thread. I apologize if you took it that way. I meant that you should reply to threads concerning grading help. I hope this clears any confusion if there was any. If not, then go right ahead, while I feel silly to myself.

Thank you! You're very kind! ^-^
