Mischa sharply parted the people around her, bouncing off them like a pinball, rushing to Rhianna. Two guards saw her coming and moved forward to restrain her as the doctor and two nurses hovered over Rhi, working feverishly.
"Let me see her. Let me......permettez-moi...."
All Mischa could see, between the two guards containing her, was the back of a nurse and the lifeless body of her best friend. The doctor was speaking quickly----to quickly for her to understand---and one of the nurses rushed to retrieve some medicine from the drug cabinet.
"What happened?" she called out to no avail, using the wrong language in her panic.
Mischa tried again to get around the guards. She just wanted to see her. She wanted Rhi to see her. But one of the guards threw a forearm into her chest and her feet went out from under her. She fell hard to the floor, head slamming on the tile. The guards dropped down, using gravity to their advantage, pinning her where she lay.
"Please. S'il vous plait," she managed. "Rihanna....."743Please respect copyright.PENANAda3QoHu5Cs
Then, between the two guards restraining her, craning her neck as far off the floor as she could, Mischa saw the doctor, a middle-aged man with long gray hair, straighten up, relax his posture, and shake his head at the nurse. He wrapped his stethoscope around his neck and turned towards the nurse who was retrieving the meds. "Gabrielle," he called. "Il n'est pas necessaire."743Please respect copyright.PENANAJYmFRwgBOv
"No!" Mischa wailed.743Please respect copyright.PENANAPr4SnRXkzN
He looked up at the clock on the wall. "Le temps de mort....ah, il est quatorze heures quarante."743Please respect copyright.PENANAHWm1Ux19up

"You---you killed her," Mischa said, the last words she heard anyone say before everything went black.743Please respect copyright.PENANAR3VKkFtlwQ
