Omen was standing outside of the massive warehouse, leaning against the wall as he looked forward.
Joshlynn made her way out and pulled out a box of cigarettes. She dyed her hair to a dirty blonde that went down past her shoulders. She was wearing a white leather jacket, dark blue jeans, and a heavy metal t-shirt. She removed circle shaped sunglasses as she got closer to Omen. She was young but rough looking.
“Want one?” She asked as she pulled a single one out.39Please respect copyright.PENANADvWga4vtHr
“No.” Omen replied very dryly while continuing to stare forward into the endless space, like he was seeing through everything and into the universe.
“Alright.” She said before she lit it with a lighter, taking a large breath before blowing the smoke out.
“How is Pala?” Omen asked.
Joshlynn looked over at him as she took another hit.
“He hasn’t spoken a word. He seems to be moving around more though. I saw him eating for the first time in a few days.” She replied.
Omen slowly tilted his head down to stare at the ground.
“He will come around.” Joshlynn said as she walked over, putting her hand on his shoulder.
“We all did.” She said, Omen’s head slowly turning to the side to meet her gaze.
“You believe me, right?” He asked her.
She smiled, yet waited to respond.
“You’ve said it many times…we are the future.”
She finished her cigarette in a single breath before blowing the smoke out and heading back inside.
As Joshlynn was opening the door, one of the male followers stepped out. She handed him the box as they both smiled.
He was much larger than her and very muscular, the build of a football linebacker. He had a buzz cut and a large sleeve of multiple tattoos merging together. He was dressed in a very tight long sleeve shirt and sweatpants, a small bracelet around his wrist.
The door shut as he walked over, opening the box and holding it towards Omen.
“Want one Sir?” He asked.
“No thank you Dominik.” He replied.
Dominik shrugged and began to smoke one of the cigarettes.
“So, you and Joshlynn?” Omen asked.
Dominik blushed as he tried to play it cool.
“Joshlynn? No way…I mean…not that she’s…I wouldn’t…” He stumbled over his words as Omen softly chuckled.
“Don’t worry…you two are a great match for each other.” He said.
“How do you…oh right, your future seeing thing.” Dominik said in a joking tone.
“Do you believe me now?” Omen asked.
Dominik took a big hit of the cigarette before chuckling.
“Well, after seeing those fucking freaks get shot in the head and then heal up…yeah, I believe you now.”
Both of them chuckled as there was a few feet between them.
“We just have to figure out how to kill them permanently.” Omen said.
Dominik took a large hit.
“Drowning?”
“No, drowning doesn’t work. No matter how little oxygen they have, their brains continue to function. Anything that involves suffocation is out.” Omen quickly replied.
Dominik looked surprised as he thought for a few more seconds.
“Decapitation?” He asked.39Please respect copyright.PENANAkbzeuQjEAP
“The head stays conscious while the body becomes lifeless. Neither deteriorate and if you hold them close enough they grow back to reattach.” Omen replied.
“What happens if you remove their brain?”
“A new one grows back that somehow keeps all of the same memories, which scientifically really doesn’t make any sense.” Omen quickly replied once again.
“How do you know all of this shit?” Dominik asked.
Omen slowly turned to look at him.
“Research.” Omen replied.
Dominik chuckled, but then stopped as he realized Omen’s face was stoic and emotionless.
“Wait…for real?” He asked.
“I have told you before that I’ve been dealing with these things…well most of my life.” He said.
“Still crazy to think about.” Dominik chuckled.
Omen went back to staring into space as Dominik finished the cigarette. He patted Omen softly on the back.
“I will follow you until I die sir.” He said.
He made his way to the door, which opened before he got there. The other male supporter stepped out as the two firmly grabbed hands and pulled each other in for a strange hug.
The other man was slightly smaller but still muscular. He was clean shaven with the beginning stages of a mullet growing on his head. He was wearing a white tank top with very small and subtle sweat stains along with athletic shorts.
Dominik passed him the box of cigarettes as he headed inside.39Please respect copyright.PENANAt0H95u1vDq
“Morning sir, care for a cigarette?” He asked.
Omen softly chuckled.
“I’m fine, thank you though.” Omen replied.
“Alright, suit yourself.” He said as he took one cigarette out.
“How is your family Mason?” Omen asked.
“Father’s still gone. Mom is having to look for a third job.” Mason replied.39Please respect copyright.PENANAeQPHf7IxbR
“I told you, if you ever need money, to just ask.” Omen said.
“Yeah well…I see the budget we have for this. I wasn’t sure you had any to give.” Mason replied.
“Don’t worry, I have more money than you might think.” He said.
“Let me guess…you looked into the future for stocks and bets and whatever else?” Mason joked.
Omen softly chuckled.
“Maybe.”39Please respect copyright.PENANAJeSaT7IWKy
The two looked at each other with smiles before they both laughed. Omen walked over and pulled Mason close, the two hugging when Omen put his hand on the back of his head.
“I treat you all like my children…you have been with me since the beginning.” Omen whispered into his ear.
Mason teared up and hugged back.
“Thank you Sir.” Mason said.
They stopped hugging as Mason made his way to the doorway. The final supporter, a young girl stepped out and bumped into Mason.
“Sorry about that Nadia.” Mason said.
“Fuck off.” She quickly replied, snatching the box from his hand. She walked over and looked at Omen, not even offering before she took a cigarette and began to smoke it.
She was dressed in a black skirt that barely flowed down and was quite close to her body. Her top was a black fishnet shirt over another black t-shirt.39Please respect copyright.PENANAalnD6iWLYp
“Nadia.” Omen said.
“Boss.” She replied.
She began to smoke as the two stood in silence.
“Family?” Omen asked.
“Dead.”39Please respect copyright.PENANAAoAkCXxtWp
“Good.”
“Whatever.”
“School?”
“Bullshit.”
“Fair.”39Please respect copyright.PENANAtbecIDIBRH
“Yup.”39Please respect copyright.PENANASZmZBKc4i5
“Good talk.” Omen said as he went to walk towards the door, but she turned to step in front of him.
“You told me that those Anomaly things are real and I believed you…” Nadia started.
Omen looked confused at her.
“Yes…and?” He asked.
“You didn’t tell me they were unkillable.” She said.
“Only for now…we’ll find a way to kill them.” He replied.
“We better, cause those fucking things are disgusting.” She flicked some ash to the ground.
“Trust me…I know.” Omen replied.
“Good…cause you need to figure out how we can kill those fuckers.” She said.
“You have got to start watching your mouth.” Omen replied.
Nadia flicked some ash at Omen, but within a split second his hand was wrapped around her throat. Her eyes were beading out of her head as her face was very quickly changing to red, slowly fading towards blue. Omen didn’t say anything, but just stared into her eyes.
“We will…don’t worry.” He whispered before letting go, Nadia falling to the ground and coughing violently.
“Smoking kills.” Omen said as he fixed his clothing, heading inside.
Nadia kept coughing as she looked at Omen full of hatred, but then flicked the cigarette away and walked inside.
Joshlynn, Mason, and Dominik were all talking in a small circle around a monitor.
“Alright everyone, give me some good news.”39Please respect copyright.PENANASPJYGVDzao
Over at the far wall were each of the Anomalies, handcuffs keeping their arms behind their back as they laid naked inside of dog cages.
“We tried burning them…” Joshlynn started.
“But their skin healed and became tougher.” Omen interrupted.
The followers looked at each other as Nadia stormed in loudly.
“Here we go.” Omen said as he turned around, Nadia punching him hard in the face but shattering her hand. She screamed loudly and fell to her knees.
“Get her to the medical room please.” Omen said.
Mason swallowed hard as he walked over and helped Nadia to her feet. They began to walk off, but then Omen could hear something.
“Stop!” He said loudly. Mason and Nadia both froze as Omen very slowly turned around.
“Come here.” His voice was dry and angry, but not too loud.
Mason turned around, but Nadia kept her back to him.
“Nadia…turn…around…” Omen was now gritting his teeth. Joshlynn and Dominik were both looking at each other confused and worried.
Nadia very slowly turned around, clutching and covering her hand.
“Show me…” Omen said.
Nadia was shaking in fear as she uncovered her hand.
It was completely healed as tears ran down her face.
“What a shame…” Omen whispered.
“You are a monster!” Nadia screamed as her eyes glowed white.
All of the tables and monitors in the room flew wildly into the air, creating a tornado inside of the warehouse. Omen walked through it as if it was nothing. Mason ran towards him and clutched his jacket from the front.
“Sir! She’s on your side! I promise!”
Omen looked into Mason’s eyes before throwing him to the side. He kept marching forward before grabbing Nadia by her head, twisting violently to the side and breaking her neck. Everything crashed into the walls and floor as her body dropped to the ground. Omen looked down at her, not seeing that Mason pulled his handgun out and was pointing it at Omen’s back.
A loud gunshot filled the air, Mason shaking before looking down at his chest. Blood was pouring out as he collapsed to the ground.
“Good to see you again.” Omen said, looking up towards the doorway.
Next to it, standing inside a long hallway the other direction, was Pala with his own white revolver. Smoke was coming out of the barrel as he had no emotion at all on his face.
Pala didn’t say anything, but walked over to Nadia on the ground. Her neck loudly and visibly snapped back inside her neck as Pala dragged her over to another dog cage. He handcuffed her arms behind her back before throwing her inside. A few seconds later, her head suddenly snapped back in place as she gasped for air.
“I hate you!” Nadia screamed.
“Joshlynn…Dominik…you know what to do.” Omen said.
The two looked at each other before nodding, walking over to Mason. Joshlynn grabbed his arms while Dominik grabbed his legs, picking him up and carrying him towards the door.
Pala moved to stand next to Omen, staring at Nadia with no emotion. Omen put his arm over Pala’s shoulders and smirked.
“We will figure out what to do…together.” Omen said.
Pala continued to stare forward, gripping the white revolver so tightly it shook and rattled.
