THIS CHAPTER DEPICTS THE PRESENT THE CONTINUIATION OF FIRST CHAPTER

PRIYA
"Dadiiii" I screamed as I reached our haveli's gate. I ran inside not paying attention to anyone 'I was way too excited to meet my family to pay heed to anyone' "Maro Dikro" (my sweet baby). My dadi said with tears in her eyes .My Dadi was in her wheelchair when I entered the garden. She was sitting besides Ma, Masi, Maami [ moms brothers wife] and Tai ji [dads elder brothers wife] and Kabir bhai. I hugged her tightly and I felt a small tear escape my left eye. I missed them. They all gave me a group hug and then all my brothers came down to hug me. I touched mama's [ moms elder brother] feet to offer my respect but he hugged me saying " Ghar ki lakshmi paav nahi chutii( the goddess of the house doesn't touch anyone's feet) " I ran towards my brothers and my uncles like a little kid and hugged them tight , but I noticed Sach bhai , Arjun bhai and dad weren't there. "Where is dad , Sach bhai and Arjun bhai? " I asked looking around " They have some pending work they'll be here before pooja " My Tau-ji told me " Why don't you go and freshen up with Mia pooja will start at 9 so you can rest now since you have had a long day travelling ,come on bacha let's go up and I'll show mia her room " My masi said " No masi its okay I'll ask Lakshmi aunty to show Mia her room and I remember my room well, you can stay here please dont worry about me " Before they could reply I started making my way towards my room. Well its been long since I last came here , 2 years to be exact , but the haveli has changed the whole look from the outside is still the same but from the inside it's as good as a fivestar hotel. The interior is modern designed and the lighting gives it an ecstatic look. " Wow bro this place looks like heaven !" Mia exclaimed yeah she wasn't exaggerating the place was indeed heaven it was beautiful . My room was on the third floor I remember well but now I'm lost but but Kabir bhai was right behind me. " Found your room moonpie? " He asked mockingly I shook my head in a no. " That's why we tell you to listen first. Now come on follow me " After walking for what it seemed ages I got inside my room. " Holy crap, is this my room? " The room was beautiful it was big as big as my apartment back in Germany a couch a big bed a big closet a 100 inch tv and what not. " Language moonpie, this is not yours but Arjun bhai's room he asked me to let you stay here tonight to makeup to you since your room is not done yet but don't worry it'll done by day after tomorrow and if you guys want Mia can also stay here with you " " Thank you so much bhai" I told hugging him. He chuckled and said " Okay moonpie go to sleep now if you want I'll send ask lakshmi chachi to send you jelebi faffda ( gujrati snack of sweet and namkeen ) and your chanyacholi is kept there in the walk in closet on the right side of the Arjun Bhai's shervani's and yeah clean up and be ready by 9, arti will be done by you today so don't be late " " Yes bhai don't worry I'll be down on time"
Hyatthotel , AHEMDABAD INDIA 1:00 PM
ALEX
I reached Ahemdabad at 10:00am and I am meeting with Jack, my dad , Arjun Shah ,his brother Sach and his father Naresh Shah. After the meeting:
" Gabriel you guys are coming to our place at 8:00 right . Deepika has messaged me to remind you about it ." Naresh Shah said to my dad .
" Don't worry man, I'll be there with Grace , Hope ,Jack and Alex soon .did you talk to Priya yet what did she say?" My dad asked walking towards the elevator .
"We will talk tonight after the function . I know she'll say yes and respect my decision but I still am not promising anything to you . " He said . "What kind of promise dad?" Arjun asked .
"You'll know about it by tonight Arjun , don't worry it's nothing serious" uncle said ."Did you talk to Alex about it ?" He asked witha raised brow " no we'll talk to him after tonight as well . I'm sure he won't fail me as well ." Dad said . They were talking as if I wasn't here
"What's going on dad? What talk? " I asked " Nothing we'll talk after the function tonight, let's go bye Naresh . See you tonight" and he nodded .
There was a weird smile between the two old men which didn't went unnoticed by me and Arjun . We both knew something was going on but we decided to drop it .
My mom (Grace ) and my sister ( Hope) were here by 7:30 at my door looking beautiful angles in their traditional colourful clothes . I was forced by my parents to wear a sherwani . Though it wasn't my style I had to admit it was beautiful . "Come on Alex drive faster or we are going to be late " my mom from the seat behind yelled in my hear . " Yes ma'am and I thought we were to a party not at an interview " I said sarcastically . " its not a party young man , its a traditional festival where people expect you to come on time and we have to respect them."
"mom I'm really excited to meet Priya , its been so long since I saw her last " Hope said , breaking in the conversation . "last time I remember you were two when you met how do you even remember her?"
"no bro, I met her in highschool too, she studied in westminster too. " Hope completed her highschool in now and now she is copleting her PHD and she is Dante specialist(italian poet) .I am proud of her she has been througt a lot in her old school in Italy and she wanted to start fresh .
"Well then good for you" I said giving a smile
"Don't act like you are not interested to meet her I've seen how you use to held her when we were kids in pictures . You never even held me with so much love." Hope said with a smirk on her face . Well its true I do want to meet her but I'm definately not dying to meet her .
I was 7 when I first visited their place here in India .
FLASHBACK
2000 OCTOBER, AHEMDABAD
Alex's POV
"Alex and Jack please behave yourselves in front of them , don't make me or daddy run behind you with Hope in our hands." Mommy told us the nth time .
"Yes mommy we will behave" I told her. Today we are going to meet mommy's and daddy's colledge friends and their kids and their big family . Me and Jack we are very excited to meet them . They stay in palace here and they even have a lion as their pet . Their family consists of 16 people and they all live together .
"We are here guys and please don't forget to call them uncle and aunties , don't call them by their names ." Daddy said
"Okay dady" we replied in unison
The mansion gates were high with 8 guards on the door and several cars outside . There were atleast 20 cars parked here . The garden was big, starting from the gate till the palace . People with uniforms of guards were seen in every 15 seconds . The distance from the gate till the palace would atleast be 4miles . The whole place was decorated with lightings . Some dance music were been played in the background .
Entering the palace we were greeted by our parents friends and a grandma . They were standing near the living room door with a baby in their hands . Waving his hands towards us he asked the man standing behind him to call his son.
"Hey guys how are you? I missed you people so much . Is this Hope , she looks even cuter than her pictures " aunty Deepika said giving the baby to uncle Naresh hugging my mom who as now sobbing her arms . "We are great girl we missed you too ."
" May God bless you Hope giving you all the happiness and love from the world." Bestowing her wishes she took Hope from mommy and kissed her cheek affectionately.
" Oh my god are this handsome boys baby Alex and baby Jack , Naresh look how grown they are. Hi sweet pea and munchkin . How are you guys ? Do you remember me?" Auntie asked with hope in her hands and turning her attentions towards us .
" We do remember you , you are our Godmother and mommy's bestfriend" Jack and I said in unison.
"Aww , thats so sweet of you " auntie said keeping Hope besides their daughter on the sofa and giving us a long motherly hug .
we were introduced to the elders of the family but not the kids since they were in school which was not gonna end in like 3 hours.
While I was gazing at the beautiful reunion between my mom and aunt Deepika something touched my feet and I looked down to see the same baby was patting on my feet as is asking me to pick her up.
The baby was so beautiful . she was just like a doll . " Aloo aloo ajushh uppp" the baby said pointing towards
I picked her up and she snuggled closer to me . fisting her hands while in my hair and kissed my cheeks or rather bit me .
"you are a special person young man , because Priya doesn't let anyone touch her . " Grandma said patting my back and For some reason I felt proud
"Don't touch my sister . You are hurting her " a boy of my age came running towards us and attempted to take Priya from my hand .
" Give me my sister , she hates when some stranger touches her " he pulled her from my hand in a jerk . And suddenly the warmth I was feeling was lost . Her eyes were brewing tears and she started crying .
"See you scared her " he said looking towards me " No don't cry my moonpie , I'm here I won't let anyone hurt you I'm here ..I'm here .." he cooed her but she cried even loudly and swirled in his arms . I extended my hands towards her and she almost jumped from his hands to mine .
She calmed down in my hands and wrapped her tiny arms around my neck . I felt so protective over her . I held her towards me tightly making sure she is not too squeezed and made a promise to always protect her .The boy and uncle were shocked looking towards our actions . I was shocked at first because even Hope was like this with me .
"Dad why did Piyu cry in my arms , does she hate me now ?" The boy asked with tears in his eyes . I felt bad for him even I would be unhappy if Hope would choose someone else over me .
"No my child , she was just scared that you took her so roughly and you are in different clothes too I promise you she loves you very much " aunty came from behind me and said cupping his cheeks.
"Now come on, go and change from these school clothes so she would recognise her handsome brother ,now come on go fast . " She said kissing his cheeks and pointing towards the stairs
"Okay mommy " he said witha glint in his eyes then came towards me " And you ,take care of my Piyu if she doesn't cry the then I'll be your friend and if she does you have to deal with me "
"Arjun !" Came aunt's voice ."I'm going ma "and he went after giving me a death glare .
The next days passed in a heartbeat . It had been already 8 days and it was time to go home .
We were all now friends me , Jack ,Arjun, Sach ,Krish , Kabir and Abhishek . Leaving was difficult , I didn't want to leave Priya . We both were attached , my day started with kissing her cheeks and ended with me singing her to sleep . At first her mom wasn't sure if I was capable of making her sleep but I proved her wrong . Now she could even take my name clearly , I mean almost . While leaving she was still in her aftrenoon nap . I knew she was going to notice my absence and she would even cry but I have to go , while leaving her I promised " I'll come back to meet to you again , moonpie" a tear escaped my eye
FLASHBACK ENDS
We reached our destination , the place was still the same , exactly the same only now there were lightings everywhere and more fountains but still it gave the same homey and happy vibe. We wre greeted with Uncle Naresh and aunty Deepika . They saved their hands towards us . My mom was walk-running towards her and she was doing the same
" I missed you so much , how are you " she said with tears in her eyes . " Come on Deepika , you guys just Skyped 2 days ago " Uncle said looking at both of them .
"Did you say something ? Do you want to sleep on the couch tonight " aunty asked glaring towards uncle . Uncle stiffened hearing his shakes and with an inaudible no looking scared .
"Deepika meet Hope ,Jack and Alex ." Mom said changing the topic and saving uncle .
" Oh my look at you guys , you are so grown up , my babies grew up so fast.How are you guys ?" Sying this she hugged us all . We respected her themost after our parents . Uncle nd aunty had shifted to London a long time back but they still came here every year , their visits were frequent to us in Italy , but after a few years we all were busy in schools and universities that's why the last I remember meeting her was when I was 17 maybe . But she still had the same charm and enthusiastic smile which would make anyone's day .
"We are fine aunty , how are you guys and how's Arjun and Priya ?" Hope said in one go clearly showing her excitement to meet them .
"Well we are great as you can see and they are fine too , I think they are in the Pooja room wait let me call them , Priya was so excited to meet you . " She said and called one of the man standing in a security uniform asked him to call the whole family .
I was still talking to uncle when a phonecall disrupted our talk . 'ms sachi' it was my assistants phone . I excused myself and went towards the balcony , I knew the call was important because I clearly instructed her not to call me unless it was urgent.
"Yes Sachi"
"Hi sir , sorry to disturb you , the reason I'm calling you is because Grey Interprise is ready to invest in us but they are demanding your presence in the next meet which will be on Friday, I know you'll be coming by Saturday but if it's possible can you please try to come by .. " I didn't let her finish
" don't worry I'll be home by Wednesday and good job Sachi"
"Okay Sir I'll send you the schedule and the important points discussed in the meeting ,Thankyou sir , see you soon "the call ended . That's great Grey Interprise project was important for us ..
While making my way towards the room I was busy checking out the mail . I heard Hope's scream ' Priya ' . I looked towards her found a girl's back facing me and she was hugging her . She was wearing a golden top like thing and a long brown skirt she was perfect tall , golden brown skin , perfect black hair reaching till her bottom , perfect manicured hands with some design on her hands (im talking about mehendi here ) which is the same colour as her dress . She was literally a Godess .
"How are you Priya , I missed you so much . You promised we'd be in touch but you never called " Hope said in one breath still holding her hands .
"I'm sorry ,but I lost my phone a few days after meeting you losing all my contacts and medschool is exhausting , I had barely time to visit my parents . I know that's not an excuse but please forgive me . And I missed you too . "I felt like I have heard her voice before.
"It's okay I understand but don't do that the next time , anyways I want you to meet my brothers Jack and Alex . That's Jack talking to dad "pointing towards Jack who was talking to dad and then pointing towards me " and that's my brother Alexander right behind you" .She turned around to look at me and we both froze
"You " we both said at the same time
