Not two hours later, 7 had his head on the table, a defeated look on his face.51Please respect copyright.PENANAPplVARItum
“I can’t study… any more… we’ve still got so much more to write… I’m counting on you, 8…” He trailed off.51Please respect copyright.PENANAaDBm0xWxp8
I couldn’t help but laugh. “Alright, we can take a slight break,” I chuckled as I pet his head.
…Wait.
Before I could process what I just did, 7 suddenly shot up.51Please respect copyright.PENANA9n12XV8isd
"Hey, I have an idea. Let's go to karaoke! There’s a place really close by.”51Please respect copyright.PENANATyw5v5zgC4
I was taken aback by his sudden suggestion, though it did potentially save me from explaining myself. Karaoke was the last thing on my mind, and I had a lot of work to do aside from the group project. But then again, I had been feeling burnt out lately, and hearing 7 sing might be the thing I never knew I needed in my life.
"Sure, why not," I said, a small smile spreading across my face. “I have to warn you though: I can’t sing, so you’ll have to do the singing.”51Please respect copyright.PENANArov0BDPXjk
7 scoffed. “Yeah, right, they all say that. And even if you really do suck, who cares as long as you have fun?!”51Please respect copyright.PENANAvo04atMIXL
Swinging his arm around my shoulder, he led me towards the library exit.
As we walked to the karaoke bar, I couldn't help but feel grateful for 7's spontaneous nature. He may not be the most focused or disciplined person, but he had a way of bringing me out of my shell and reminding me that it was okay to let loose once in a while.
