They've been walking for almost a day and a half.
The trip would be almost 8 days of walking at a normal speed and Carmine's legs were sore already, and they weren't even half way yet.
They were almost at the Feral Woods, a place where broken Pokemon roamed.
These Pokemon were called broken because something happened to make them go berserk.
It could happen to anyone, but it mostly happens at evolutions.

Both Carmine and Herrah leaped to defend Ari.
A blue light flashed, Carmine searched for where the blue light was coming from.
Carmine suddenly felt sore all over as she realized what was happening.
She was evolving! . . .for a very stupid reason, well, at least she looked intimidating now.
Carmine stood on her hind legs, because that's what Braixens did, and stared intimidatingly at Triller.
Triller ran away and screamed in his weird squeaky voice. "You will be mine one day Ari!!!".
Everyone watched him go, one second, two seconds, then burst out laughing.
"Wow, I'm so intimidating now, aren't I?', Carmine questioned happily.
"I hope I get tall", Herrah sighed dreamily.
"We should probably go now", Ari proposed in an uneasy voice. "Tiller is a total pushover, but his dad is a nightmare".
Everyone looked around. scanning the woods for Triller's dad.
When they saw nothing, they continued on the path to Alola, past the feral forest.
