someday I'll get it, the reasons why,

the hurt I feel now, the tears I cry,

when I'm older, i’ll understand

maybe i’ll finally understand,

why i deserve to struggle so much

why i feel so empty

why i can’t be happy

and why the peace my heart is longing for,

is so hard for me to find.

i’ll piece together all the pain,

each heartache i’ve had, every strain.

someday I'll see the hidden threads,

the whispered words, and the things unsaid,

the moments lost, the silent cries,

the shattered hopes, and the sleepless nights,

maybe then, when i’m finally at rest,

i can see a glimpse of the truth

behind this life of lies.
