Dorian then led me to the high-class restaurant.
"Reservations for 2 under the name Dorian," Dorian said to the front desk clerk.
"Yes, Mr. Colson," the front desk clerk said, "Right this way." We followed him to a secluded area on a balcony overlooking the city. Dorian pulled a chair out.
"Please sit, Jeremy," Dorian said as he motioned for the chair he pulled out.
"Thank you?" I asked as I sat down and he moved my chair closer to the table.
"I want to treat my man well," Dorian said with a smile as he sat in his own chair. The front desk clerk gave us our menus and walked away quickly. I was looking at the menu and I couldn't recognize anything on the menu. Soon a waitress came up to our table.
"My name is Gretchen and I'll be your waitress," the waitress said, "Are you interested in any of our fine wines this evening?"
"I'm letting my partner choose this evening," Dorian said as he gestured to me.
"I don't drink," I said, "Do you have any soda?"
"Yes," Gretchen said, "We have cola, diet cola, and a lemon-lime soda."
"I'll have cola," I said.
"I will also have cola," Dorian said.
"Okay," Gretchen said, "Do you know what you want to order or do need more time?"
"I definitely need more time," I said.
"Okay," Gretchen said, "I'll be right back with your drinks." She quickly left.
"Dorian," I said, "I don't know how to read any of these."
"You don't?" Dorian asked.
"I do not," I said. Dorian came over to my side of the table and started explaining each dish. "I'll have that one then." I pointed to the ratatouille. Dorian smiled.
"I enjoy that as well," Dorian said as he went back to his seat. Gretchen came back a little while later with our drinks and set them in front of us.
"Are you two ready to order?" Gretchen asked as she took out her notebook.
"Yes," Dorian said, "We will both have Ratatouille."
"Wonderful," Gretchen said, "Your meals will be ready shortly." Gretchen left again.
"I'm guessing that you have many questions, Jeremy," Dorian said, "So out with it."
"I have so many questions, I can't just choose one," I said, "I'd rather answer the questions you have for me."118Please respect copyright.PENANALBvHScmJWV
"Okay..." Dorian said, "Can you read?"
"Not very well," I said, "I only went to school until 4th grade."
