The title of this blog is "Some homeschooler's blog," when it should be "some online schooler's blog." And I should probably change it, but the name kind of stuck..
I know the difference, btw!
So basically, when I created this blog, it was during summer break. At this time we were supposed to be decided on my homeschooling choices. My parents told me my choices were Abeka homeschooling, or using a homeschool program that is given from our school to complete for the year. Which isn't fully homeschooling, but that's what they call it.
There was also another option-- virtual schooling using our entire state's program with synchronous meetings. However, they told me this option was unavailable because they were already pretty full for my grade, and plus I'd be joining late. But they still put my name down anyway and said they'd let us know if there was a spot open.
Looking into our options, we decided Abeka was a bit too pricey for us then, and I didn't want to cut my school off completely. I've already done the school's homeschool program before, so I thought it'd be easiest. But around the end of July, the virtual program finally had a spot available.
Long story short, I was pretty excited to have meetings instead of being alone from asynchronous classes. I didn't change the name because I thought virtual and homeschooling were pretty similar anyway, and that no one would notice. I honestly don't think anyone did.
I'm probably going to use Abeka homeschooling soon, however. Though that sounds great, I'm not too thrilled because I'll have to leave my friends.
Anyway, thanks for reading! It's almost 8 AM so I'ma be starting class soon!
