Chapter 008
Beeihae Shinnshiow
The words that came out of the policeman's lips really came as an enormous shock to Beeihae Shinnshiow, who was still lying weakly on the bed. Instantly, he tried to get up.
"What's going on?" Completely confused, Shinnshiow shouted so loudly. His body shook violently.
"Shiowdi, you have to be patient first." Yihshyong rose from the chair. He held Shinnshiow's shoulder. His face showed a deep worry.
"You have to tell me what really happened." Shinnshiow was still screaming. Although not as hard as before.
"Shiowdi, don't scream like that." Iren opened his mouth. His face also looked restless. "If the doctors and nurses hear your screams, they can kick us out immediately. After that, they will definitely isolate you completely."
Iren's words did sound reasonable. Shinnshiow froze for a moment before finally letting out a breath. With slow motions, he laid down on the bed. Exactly like his previous position.
Why are my emotions so strange like this? Was it due to the effect of the poison? Or were there other things the doctors didn't say?
The two policemen who were in the room also looked worried. Everyone could definitely see the anxiety clearly etched on their faces. Yihshyong approached those two right away.
One of the two policemen looked at Yihshyong with questioning eyes.
"Are Mr. Duanmuh and Miss Liuchiou's condition stable?" Yihshyong's voice sounded slightly shaky.
"We don't know the details yet, Sir. So...."
"You guys just say things you already know."
"About an hour ago, three men came here. It turned out that they were Miss Liuchiou's relatives. The three men then insisted on transferring Miss Liuchiou to another hospital, which was the hospital of their choice. They said that the doctors there ready to receive the patient."
"And the doctors here immediately agreed?" Yihshyong said.
"Because Miss Liuchiou's condition is not worrying, so the doctors here have allowed it."
"They really have everything ready?"
"That's right, sir! They even brought an ambulance. Less than fifteen minutes since their arrival, Miss Liuchiou got into the ambulance, which sped away from this place in a flash."
"Is it that easy? Aren't they both victims of a crime," said Iren. "I mean, shouldn't the police also be consulted on that?"
"That is entirely the doctor's authority," said one policeman. "But indeed, the transfer would make our task a bit more difficult. We have to send some of us to the other hospital to get the statement from Miss Liuchiou."
"Besides, there are other things that are beyond our control," the other policeman also opened his mouth.
"You mean?" Jenqyih's eyebrows rose.
"Those three people aren't just any people. So...."
"Ah!" Yihshyong smiled. "We understand."
Wealthy people have advantages. The same thing is happening everywhere!
"What's important is that she's okay," said Iren.
Yihshyong nodded. "So it was the arrival of the people from Miss Liuchiou's family that led to the police being able to identify them."
"That's right, Sir! Half an hour after those relatives, the police confirmed that the other victim was Mr. Duanmuh."
"Now, how is he?"
"Just like Miss Liuchiou, he just needs to rest."
"Wait a minute." Shinnshiow, who had been silent for a while, could no longer contain the curiosity surging through his mind. He opened his mouth to join in the conversation. "There's something strange. You said that previously the police didn't know who the two victims were. Then how did Miss Liuchiou's family know that Miss Liuchiou was in this hospital? Who told them?"
"We don't know, Sir!" The two policemen shook their heads in unison. There were lines of guilt on their faces.
Yihshyong took a deep breath. "Thank you for the information. Now, gentlemen, both of you should resume your duties. Later, I will talk to you again."
"Yes, Sir! Thank you." Without saying much, the two policemen left the room. Their movements were so agile.
Yihshyong took Tsaehorng's arm. "Can I ask you a favor?"
"Of course, Uncle." As always, Tsaehorng is always on hand to help."
"I want you to find out about Dahge. What room is he in? How is he? Stuff like that."
"Uncle, please don't worry. I'll try my best." Tsaehorng nodded in a reassuring manner. He immediately left the room.
Yihshyong sat back down on the chair. He stared at Shinnshiow deeply. Shinnshiow looked back at Yihshyong. He couldn't wait to hear the explanation that his friend would give.
"I'm going to start telling a story. But you have to promise not to make a sound. I don't want the doctors to kick us out of here because they think we've provoked a patient who still needs a lot of rest."
Shinnshiow nodded. He didn't want to make things worse than before.
After taking a deep breath, Yihshyong began to recount everything that happened after Shinnshiow was kidnapped. That included things they kept secret, both from law enforcement and from Tsaehorng and his employees. Shinnshiow listened attentively to Yihshyong's description. He did not interrupt the sentences that came out of Yihshyong's mouth at all. The man who had just been released from captivity by the kidnappers listened to everything through in a calm manner.
Iren and Jenqyih also did not open their mouths while Yihshyong was talking. They both just nodded. Nevertheless, their faces were so serious.
A few moments later, Yihshyong fell silent. It looked like he had finished telling his story. He stared straight at Shinnshiow. Iren and Jenqyih followed what Yihshyong was doing. The three people seemed to be waiting for a reaction from Shinnshiow.
"I've finished telling you. Now you may ask questions or make any comments." Yihshyong opened his mouth after being silent for about a minute.
Shinnshiow was still silent.
"Do you think there is anything strange about what I just revealed?"
"The whole Shyongge story is weird." Shinnshiow nodded with mixed feelings. "I think everyone would agree that it's all pretty weird. It's so weird. I really don't know what to say."
"Do you think our actions were wrong?"
"Which action?"
"Hidding some facts from the law enforcement and the people who have gone to great lengths to help us."
"You guys have your own reasons for doing that. It's not about right or wrong. After all, everything has already happened. Even if it's wrong, there's no point in Shyongge regretting it."
"I don't regret it. I just feel bad for myself sometimes."
"About everything you just said. I'm sure Shyongge had good reasons when you decided to do that. There's no need to feel down on yourself. The important thing is, it's over now."
"It's still not over." Jenqyih, who had not said much before, suddenly made a sound.
"Yihge is right." Iren again joined the conversation. "We still don't know how Songfei will fare."
"You guys are right," said Shinnshiow. "The police don't seem interested in looking into this Songfei matter. What's our next plan, then?"
"Dahge is back. Of course, we have to discuss everything with him first." Yihshyong cupped his palms together in front of his lips.
"But based on the police story earlier, there is a possibility that Dahge will have to undergo a long recovery process," said Shinnshiow.
"He can just stay in bed, not go around. But we still have to listen to what he has to say," said Yihshyong.
"What about Yihge's friends who work in a secret organization? Can he help us find out about Songfei?"
"Actually, I was going to call him. But the latest developments have prevented me from doing that at home. So, earlier, when I arrived at the hospital, I took the time to contact him via a payphone. He will see me in a few hours," said Jenqyih.
"A few hours?" Iren glanced at the clock hanging on the wall. "Isn't it soon?"
Jenqyih turned his face towards Iren's gaze. "Ah, you're right! Turns out we've been in this hospital for quite a while. He said he would meet me in the canteen inside the building across from this hospital. About half an hour from now."
"You have to hurry," said Iren.
"It's not far. I just need to get out of this building. Cross the street. Enter the building opposite. Then, look for the cafeteria. That's all. No need to rush."
"This building is huge. The front yard is also vast. The main road in front is also very wide. And, the building opposite is no less big than this building. You also have to find the location of the canteen. You've never been there before. So, everything takes time. It wouldn't hurt if you were better prepared." Iren insisted.
"You shouldn't argue over such a small matter," Yihshyong said. He turned to Jenqyih. "But I think Iren's words are also not completely wrong."
Jenqyih nodded. He said nothing more about it. But he also did not immediately get up to leave the place.
What's on his mind? Is he reluctant to meet his friends? Or does he need a little time to prepare for the series of questions he will ask?
"Talking about the canteen, aren't you hungry? Isn't it already lunch time?" Shinnshiow remembered that lunch was one of the important rituals in their community.
"Earlier, after going to call Mr. Jongli, Yihge had bought bread. So we ate bread," said Iren.
"You can't be full if you just eat a piece of bread." Shinnshiow laughed.
"That's right. But earlier, around ten o'clock, several Tsaehorng employees came to our house. They brought an abundance of food. We ate until we were full. So actually, even though it was already lunchtime, we weren't too hungry yet," said Iren.
"Ah!" Shinnshiow continued his laughter. "You guys are very lucky."
There was a knock on the door. The sound was so loud. It was as if the person who knocked on the door was in an impatient state.
"Perhaps it was Tsaehorng who returned with good news." Yihshyong rose from where he was sitting.
The door opened. Just as Yihshyong said, from behind the door appeared a young man. Her face was so bright. Behind the youth was a nurse following him. The nurse pushed a wheelchair. There was someone sitting in the wheelchair.
"Dahge!!!" Everyone in the room screamed together.
