I should probably add some stuff here, but I don't really know what to add. Maybe I'll just tell you my writing does not reflect me as a person most times it's cynical and maybe even morbid. If you meet me though I'm a little shy but optimistic child at heart constantly overflowing with something to laugh about. So I don't necessarily care about pleasing any specific audience I find joy in simply being here and vague.

Hello everyone, this is my first contest so I'm scared it might not go anywhere. I feel like I've been in a depressive slump lately, it happens every few months that I don't feel like trying everything. I was so worried that I had some underlying problem until I talked my emotions out with other people and found that it was completely normal.

So for this challenge I want you to play the best friend therapist and write a motivational essay to your friend that is in a motivational slump. It can either be to a friend in real life, character from a show or book, or someone entirely made up. You don't need to tell me who because it's your own personal relationship and I have absolutely no business in knowing

Requirements

- In order to be counted as a valid entry it must be at least 500 words but no more than 2000 words, if you find you are running out of things to say and can't make it or go a little over don't stress it. I don't want 10 word or 4000 word entries

-Make sure to use proper spelling, using slang and improper grammar is allowed as long as it is still decipherable.

- This is supposed to be motivational and encouraging, so no violence or supporting toxic behaviors. You can call them out on what they're doing wrong but no insults.

-Minimal cussing is allowed as long as it is not a slur or used in an insulting way. Also put a warning beforehand because there are younger people on this website. If you don't I remind and if you still don't you are disqualified.

-Finally remember this supposed to be fun, don't take anything too seriously

Grading

-I will give each entry an individual score out of ten based on the following three categories: Tact (spelling/word choice), Effectiveness and Creativity . The winner will be the one who gets the closest to thirty points will be the winner and earn the title of "The Best Therapist Best Friend"

If you are having trouble getting started just think of someone and jot down some ideas as to what you might want to discuss with them

If you are having trouble figuring out if you entry is trophy worthy just ask yourself the following questions.

"Would I actually say this to somebody in their time of need?"

"Am I actually being helpful or would this be unnecessary?"

"Do I have any major spelling mistakes and have I properly labeled any inappropriate content?"
