I saw the best mind of my generation destroyed by madness,

starving hysterical nacked,

dragging themselves through the negro street at dawn looking for an angry fix,

angle—headed hipstes burning for the ancient heavenly connection to the starry dynamo in the machinery of night,

蓄著天使髮型的嘻皮在機械式的星空燃燒渴望與古老又神聖的發電機連結，

who poverty tatters and hollow—eyed and high sat up smoking in the supernaturl darkness of cold—water flats,

他們貧窮、衣著破舊、眼窩凹陷又抽著大麻端坐在黑暗又沒有熱水器的超自然公寓，

floating across the top of cities contemplating jazz,

懸浮在城市頂端思忖著爵士樂，

who passed through universities with radiant cool eyes hallucianting Arkansas and Blake—light tragedy among the scholar of war,

他們經過大學校園、眼裡閃爍著冷酷光輝一邊幻想著阿肯色州和文明人戰爭中的布雷克啟示悲劇，

who were expelled from academies for crazy & published obscens odes on the windows of the skull,

他們因著瘋狂而被學院驅逐又在骷髏般的窗上張貼淫穢的頌詩，

who cowered in unshaven rooms,burning their money in wastebaskets and listening to the Terror through the wall,

他們穿着內衣褲蜷縮在未經打理的房間，在廢紙簍中燃燒著金錢並透過牆壁聆聽恐懼，

who got busted in their pubic beards returning through Laredo with a belt of marijuana for NewYork,

who ate fire in the paint hotels or drank turpentine in Paradise Alley,

death,or purgatoried their torsos night after night
