Marvin started acting strange after we spoke about him having holy magic, almost as if he didn't know how to act around me with me knowing that I was sent here for his sake instead of him for mine. Unbeknownst to him, I actually found it refreshing, because it explained why he was chosen to come with me. I didn't want to admit it, but my views on Marvin had changed due to this.
"Your highness?" Marvin said.
"What?" I asked.
"I had heard a rumor when I was working in the hospital wing today," Marvin said, "They said that you threw up after a girl touched you. Your phobia isn't acting up again, is it?" I didn't want to be reminded of what happened yesterday at lunch, but since he brought it up, I might as well tell him.
"I did throw up," I said, "But she fell down the stairs and hit me square in the stomach with her head. If it was a phobia, which I do not have, it probably would've been worse." Marvin sighed.
"Can I touch you, your highness?" Marvin asked. I didn't understand what he meant by that.
"What do you wish to do?" I asked. Marvin frowned.
"I'm sorry," Marvin said, "I was a little vague. I wish to hug your highness."
"That wasn't vague," I said, "It was misleading."
"But may I?" Marvin asked.
"Sure," I said. Marvin wrapped his arms around the small of my back. After a minute or so, I pulled back, but he didn't let go. Our faces were very close and he just stared lovingly into my eyes. The only thing I could think of was kissing him, so I did. Marvin kissed me more and before I knew it I was up against the wall.
"I want to do more," Marvin said, his arms trapping me in place against the wall, "Can we?"
"My head is a little messed up right now, Marvin," I said, "Let me think more on it." Marvin looked disappointed, but he moved away.
"I'm sorry for getting ahead of myself, your highness," Marvin said, "I was foolish to take your kiss as an answer to my feelings."
"It was my answer," I said, "I'm just not sure if I'm ready for the next level as of yet. I'm sorry that you took it as me undermining your feelings." Marvin sighed.
"If you're worried about what I think you're worried about," Marvin said, "I don't care either way."
"What?" I asked, confused, "I wasn't worried, I just need some time to think." It dawned on me what he meant, he meant who does who. "Why do I have to choose? I'm terrible at choosing." Marvin laughed.
