Part 1

We begin with an old, and goofy named main character known as Yunnen. Yunnen is an elf born in the wilderness but was found by humans that eventually became his parents. At six months old, he is able to speak fluently, run and even cast advanced level magic. By one, he can wield a sword and defend for himself and by five he is at a level of a master with any weapon. He is considered to be a prodigy, if not for his elven ears. The elders in his village and the kids at school despise the boy. They bully him and try to slice off his ear because in their words “it looks like pig ears”.

Many times, Yunnen wanted to murder the heck out of these gremlins. But he stays strong, growing stronger with each passing day. He helps the adults deliver lumber to the far capital city, helps mothers deliver babies, and mostly helps feed the birds and insects with his affinity to wind magic. Epharia’s stone totem is where he usually lounges around. By which the adults ask why he would do so when Epharia is a human who ascended as a God by committing genocide on the wind elves and their Goddess–Aeris

Yunnen simply responds that he is most at peace with the totem. “No one is looking at me, no one is saying bad things about me, and no one is hurting me here. No evil happens around the village because I always pray for her. Aren’t hemreans just like that? We pray for protection, love, strength, and peace.”

He keeps his prayers every early morning and before going to bed. One night, when he is doing such, he hears screaming in the forest. He goes outside to take a look and notice that the fireflies that bless their village at night are gone. Then he sees the kids who bullied him. They are a sobbing mess, probably got scared by something in the forest but then, three unknown men in black also come out of the thickets. Sword, crossbow and a staff user huddling and running in fear. “What’s up with that thing!” They scream, “I didn’t know it was going to be that big!”

Whatever they are crying and screaming about, Yunnen laughs at them for acting silly. Then, the earth rumbles. And everyone is awoken by a loud monstrous roar.

Something dangerous is in the forest and those kids and strangers awoke it. With the help of glowlight dandelions, Yunnen bends the air to call a gust of wind and spread the glowlights as far into the forest. But then the strangers tell him to bring them up. He does so and sees the monster with terrifying black scales and magma eyes. All the glowlights in the village could not attach to its entire body. Its mass and span is completely different from what Yunnen also expected them to be.

How, how can a dragon by the size of a mountain soar in the sky and look down on them? Yunnen, young as he is, can feel a growing pain from the inside of the dragon. He flies for it but meets with falling scales. It is shedding in the air! And if it fully does, they would roll down to the village and squash everyone.

Once again bending the air, Yunnen blows the scales away from the village but they are falling like rain. He cannot block them all off. There is nowhere for him to press further knowing that it is shedding, so he returns to the village, doing as much as he can to protect everyone from the raining dragon scales that are as large as two story houses.

One of the scales trampled a pregnant lady while another went to his house. He hopes that his parents got out okay but everyone is visibly getting squashed to death. Their blood splattering all over the wilting dandelions. At this moment, Yunnen thought of how he could have prevented this disaster if he was not lounging around all day at Epheria’s stone totem. It was peaceful, but the selfish price led this to happen. He could have known who got in and out, or explored around the village but no. He decided to laze around and now everyone is being squashed to death. Driven by madness at himself, Yunnen breaks through bending and conjures magic with the silent words.

Silent words are a deadlier incantation, allowing him to produce a wind dome that spans greater than the village border. He holds it, but not for long as the ones as everyone in the village he is trying to protect tries to stone him for trapping them. He endures, tries to endure the pain of his back being pierced and scarred by stone. He looks over his shoulder, noticing that none of his parents are among them. At that, he turns to his house and notices the bloody pool.

Raging himself further that the wind dome collapses and the sky is dark. The entire dragon’s shedded skin falling to them like a giant mountain. Yunnen is able to survive the onslaught but everything else in the village gets crushed.
