So, it's finally February. I don't know what it looks like in the stores, but it's a good bet there are lots of shiny heart-shaped balloons and chocolate. I wish I had chocolate. If I'm lucky, I might find some that someone dropped when Valentine's Day comes around.
Speaking of chocolate, here's an interesting bit of history. Hershey's, during WW2, was contracted to develop an emergency ration with high nutritional value. There were two highly important details: first, it could not melt in tropical heat (it was made for the island-hopping campaign); second, it had to taste only slightly better than cardboard. I looked it up and found the Hershey's online archive about it. It was made of a chocolate paste, not liquid, to prevent melting. To increase nutritional value (and decrease snack value), more chocolate liquor and less sugar was used than for ordinary chocolate. The result: Field Ration D.
I heard that my school's principal is going to get sued. It's no big surprise; he has a habit of sending transcripts he doesn't like to the district alternative school- which, as it turns out, is illegal. It's called student biasing. He seems to have been doing it since he became principal, as there are apparently quite a few cases ready to file. Hopefully, we get a new principal, preferably something like Principal Flutie (but one who doesn't get eaten by hyena demons).
Sorry about the lack of updates on anything. I've been distracted. Thank you for reading anyway.
