"If you are happy when you make others happy, there is still hope for humanity. My father used to say these words to me and I have always lived for this purpose, son. I'm sorry for what I'm about to do, but I know I have to do it. Please forgive me for not being able to say goodbye to you."
These words appeared in Alex's last letter to his father Andrew. His father had mysteriously disappeared when Alex was ten years old, after taking him to the park and hugging him tightly. People thought he had committed suicide because of his strange behavior after the mysterious death of his wife. But Alex always believed in his family and never gave up on them. This would lead him to his future profession as a detective and he would never let this case go.
-10 Years Later-
"Another day in New York, isn't it a good time to play cop?" These were Alex's words to his alarm clock as he got out of bed in the morning. He was feeling good today, maybe today he could make some progress. He got out of bed and went down to the basement of the house. When he opened the papers he had covered with a blanket, he realized that everything was in its place. In fact, there wasn't much except a few papers with his parents' names and a letter.
"Let's see, we only have one letter and no matter how many mysterious abilities I have, I don't have any information about them." At the age of fifteen, Alex had already built a reputation for solving multiple cold cases. The only case that this man, who started his detective career early on, could not solve was his own family. He had never seen his mother, but he remembered his father always looking at her picture. The ringing of the phone shook him out of his thoughts and he would think about that some other time.
"Well, look at that, you managed to get up in the morning." This was Jessy he was talking to. He had become a detective at an early age and also had an intern.
"Sana da günaydın Jessy, gelirken kahveleri unutma her zamanki gibi iki şekerli olsun." Jessy, Alex'i her ne kadar tuhaf bulsa da onunla zaman geçirmekten hep hoşlanmıştı. Bu durum Alex için de geçerliydi her ne kadar bu durumu kendine itiraf edemese de.
"Coffee with sug-" Alex had already hung up the phone, so he put the covers back on and prepared to leave the basement and go to the police station. He had to start his day, only this would take his mind off his family for a while.
When he arrived at the center, he swiped his card in the lobby and made his way to his desk. As he neared the desk, he noticed something strange. The oddity was that the case files he had just finished yesterday were still on his desk. "Hey George, I finished these cases, why are they still here?"
His colleague shouted to Alex from a distance, "We're going to be out of a job because of you, kid, if we turn in your cases we'll get another warning! Go find yourself cases in other districts, you're free today."
Alex was actually expecting this reaction, he had almost no cases he hadn't solved in the last month. When he pulled into the parking lot and got into the patrol car, he was going to call Jessy, but when he saw the girl coming towards him in the rearview mirror, he abandoned the idea.
Jessy began to call out as she continued to run around with her usual morning energy, coffee cans in hand. "Hey, you can't play detective without caffeine."
Alex recognized Jessy's voice as his own now. He wondered when he had ever given this intern the confidence to speak so freely. "Oh, thanks. Actually, your voice is already caffeinated, you know?"
Jessy replied with a grin after quickly settling into the car with her fit form and lining up the coffee cans. "You're welcome. You're being rude again, fortunately I'm not the type to worry about that."
"Oh, how lucky I am to have such an intern." After making the final checks, Alex put the car in motion. A new day was starting. Maybe the same day was repeating itself. He was always stuck between these two concepts. "So, what do we have today, Ms. Watson?"
Jessy quickly opened the terminal in the car and started looking at the cases on the screen. "Murder, murder, murder and murder again, with a burglary in between. What do you think Sherlock, anything of interest?" Alex had already seen these cases this morning. With the evidence he had given, they were very close to being solved.
"The theft was reported earlier this morning. Do you know that the thief is someone who works in the shop? I'll get another point for giving Santa Claus this information. Let's take a look at these murders." 'Santa Claus' was a nickname he gave to the district chief.
Alex was busy reviewing the cases from the terminal while looking at the road. Jessy was sipping her coffee and involuntarily recording the details of the cases in her head. In fact, this was one of her most important qualities, her memory worked better than anyone Alex had ever seen. "Check this out, they're still searching for body parts from last night's explosion on Fifteenth Avenue." Alex kept dragging the screen for more details. Jessy continued to think aloud. "There is only one body at the scene. If there are so many pieces, it must have been caused by an internal explosion." Alex agreed with the accuracy of her comment. It was the only way a person could be cut into such small pieces. "Wow, no traces of explosives were found inside the body to cause such a big explosion. That makes it interesting. It's a job for you."
Alex grinned at Jessy and started sipping his coffee. "I totally agree with you. Hey wait a second, I told you two sugars!"

When Alex and Jessy arrived at the scene, they noticed that the forensics team was still working and that the police units were moving cautiously, completely blocking the street. When Alex and Jessy entered the street, it was not difficult to find the officer in charge of the crime scene. Police Chief Mark had always been a man who enjoyed leading and giving orders. Alex had always thought that if he gained a little more weight he would be Santa's twin.
"Look who we have here. Our famous young detective and his intern on another trip. Thinking of being in the news again, son?" Even though Alex knew how annoying this man was on the outside, he respected him for his good behavior towards his father.
"Actually, I could have. I could have talked about how amazing your fat looked at the crime scene."
Mark gave a short laugh and started to answer. "You never change, son. Don't look at me like that, you can do what you want, it's going to go federal soon. It's complicated."
The fact that it was the police made Alex even more excited, and maybe that would make it even more challenging for him. "I saw the details, is there anything we need to know?"
Mark responded by ordering a few more policemen around him. "No, no explosives were found, but there were two strange descriptions of people other than the victim here last night. But each description is different and one of the descriptions even has a description of a building that looks like you. Maybe this fat suit should question you." Jessy came back to them as Mark finished laughing. Alex hadn't even realized when she had left them.

"No information about the deceased was found. It is said that even the DNA structure was distorted. The chemicals they used are really interesting." Alex tried to make sense of all the information, but he couldn't come up with a logical explanation. There was only one thing left, and that was to use his mysterious ability to solve unsolved cases.
As Alex turned around and touched the tracks, Mark went back to his team to give orders. When he realized he was gone, he began to speak, "If the FBI is involved in this, they have something to hide. I'm going to solve this before they get here."
Jessy wasn't surprised to hear those words. When Alex was only seventeen years old, he had solved a case with almost no evidence in just one day. As much as Jessy admired his ability, she always wondered how he did it. "It's impossible. There are no details. Whether there was a killer or not is just a rumor. There's not even the presence of any chemicals that would upset the body's hemostatic balance."
Alex winks and says, "Don't worry. Just trust my feelings, Jessy."
"What, am I going to write in my notes that Mr. Detective solved the case in a cool way just by feeling?"
"You can dress it up like Arthur Conan, of course I'll let you. Follow me, Miss Watson." Jessy compared Alex to Sherlock Holmes in the way he solved cases, but Alex had nothing to do with it. Alex had a gift with time. He would visualize the events in his head as if he was reliving them and he would keep doing this until he solved the case. It was like a superpower for him, but he had to feel where he was with his hands to do it. He never talked about what he did to avoid being labeled crazy.
"Why did I choose this profession when I could be a writer?" Jessy muttered to herself as Alex quickly started walking ahead of her. For two blocks Alex kept walking, touching the walls as if he was following someone. When he finally reached a side street, he stopped at the end of a dead end and looked up at the roof of the building at the end of the street as if something interesting had happened.
"That's weird, how can he jump from here to the roof?" He looked around and then turned his gaze back to the roof where no one was. "Why did it wait there?"
Whenever Jessy saw Alex like this, she thought he looked like a ghost hunter. "Ask that ghost you're chasing if ghosts are voting this year."
Alex replied, still staring blankly into the air. "Don't worry, the management will use them instead."
"It would be nice if you could keep your sanity until I finish my internship." Jessy had just finished when Alex suddenly decided to stop. Something strange was going on and he felt it too. When Alex turned around, the calm expression on his face was gone.
Something was wrong and suddenly he started yelling. "Jessy, get behind me now. He's still here!" Alex quickly pulled the gun from his belt and let Jessy get behind him.
"Alex, calm down, there's nothing he-" Jessy's words were interrupted by the words of the person jumping from the roof.
As if nothing had happened, this mysterious man jumped from the six-meter-high building and began to speak with a strange British accent. "Actually he is right, dear Jessy. He is, after all, the Heir to Time, and his words should be listened to." As the man standing in the shadows got closer to Alex, his features were revealed.

"That's impossible, how can you..." Jessy said, surprised that the man in front of her jumped off the roof as if nothing had happened.
Alex was still determined. He would not compromise because he had someone to protect. "One more step and it will be your last!" The stranger in the darkness had stopped, his face now in the angle of the sun and in full view. This visitor, who looked like a male movie model, was standing right in front of Alex with his gray hair and sunglasses.
"That was a bad start. Well, we can make up for it." The stranger took a flower from the collar pocket of his black shirt and threw it into the air. Alex opened fire without waiting for the pieces to fall, but his eyes closed and everything was darkness...

Alex opened his eyes to see bright white eyes staring back at him, the first time he had ever seen this stranger without glasses. It was dark and he could perceive nothing but the contours of the chair he was tied to.
"If you had realized your abilities, you wouldn't be in this situation now."
"Oh, my eyes. Who the hell are you?" Alex tried to look around, but he couldn't perceive anything but darkness.
"You can call me Marco for now. You're probably wondering why I brought you here and why that dead man was blown to pieces like a bomb." Alex wanted to speak but chose to restrain himself. "I've been following you for a while now, and I've come to several conclusions. First of all, you've never developed your talent, you just replay past events in your head. This makes you a harmless and open target. Fortunately, I'm here, right?" As Marco finished his sentence with a strange smile, Alex began to think that this man was not a normal person.
But the strange thing was that he knew what he could do. Who was this man in front of him? "That's impossible, I've never told anyone. What kind of patient are you?"
"That's a way of saying thank you, I guess. I know you've felt like a freak for a long time, Alex. If you want to know the truth about Andrew, you have to accept your difference." Alex felt everything stop when he heard his father's name. He had believed in him his whole life. He knew something was wrong in this world.
Now his curiosity was piqued and he had gone from being crazy to a curious, docile child. "How do you know my father?"
Marco leaned back and sighed. "Another long story... Look, kid, the first thing I want to tell you is that if you want answers, you're going to have to do it yourself. You're special, that's why I've been protecting you for ten years."
"And why me? What can a man who sees only the past do? Why do I matter so much?" With these words, Marco burst into laughter.
"This is only the tip of the mountain. If you want, you can be in the past instead of seeing it. You can play with the future. You will discover this best of all." Alex knew it was impossible, but he chose to focus on this man instead of denying it. Maybe he was right, maybe he could do what he said. He wanted to hold on to that hope, but how could he do it?
"How am I going to do this?" He had a feeling that this path was not easy.
"That's why I'm meeting you today. I'm here to invite you to a special academy set up to develop you and special people like you. Luckily for you, I'm giving you a choice: you can join or I can execute you as a potential threat. Your choice, by the way, and you will have the best teacher." Marco put his hands in his pockets and looked at Alex as if he was mine.
"It was unbelievable but all these years I promised myself not to miss even the slightest opportunity to be with my family." As he finished, he thought of Jessy "What's gonna happen to Jessy?"
"Don't worry, I'll have plans for him too." Alex was about to interrupt to speak when he didn't notice Marco reaching for his collar pocket again. The same thing was happening again...

Alex found himself in bed after his conversation with Marco. The first thing he did was to call Jessy, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't reach her. As the days passed, Alex was lost in his thoughts. Who could tell if what he was experiencing was a dream or reality? All Alex wanted were answers, but all he got was more questions and silence as the days passed. When Alex didn't get the answers he wanted from the police station, he locked himself at home. The only thing he liked during this time was drinking. When the meaningless questions in his head stopped, an idea came to him. If Marco said he was so valuable, then he wouldn't let him die. But would Alex be able to do that? He grabbed his gun from the drawer of his bedroom nightstand and looked in the mirror, not even he knew what he was doing, angry at himself for being so weak that he would go crazy so soon. Maybe he was wrong, maybe it was all a dream and he just needed to point the gun at his head to realize it. With gloomy thoughts he started to bring the gun to his forehead but before he could do so he found himself closing his eyelids again. It was as if the sink in front of him was sucking him in...
