Alesia and Jedrek drove away from the small town. The two were quiet along the way. Jedrek was angry that his time with Alesia was interrupted.
On the other hand, he should have expected this. There are other things at hand, and know that everything lasts forever. They got to the woods and the road leading to Leo's home. Once they arrived, the two noticed a jeep parked near Leo's house. Alesia parked her car, and the two got out.
"Let's see if this guy can help."
They got to the house, and Alesia knocked on the door.
Leo immediately opened the door and motioned them to enter. Once inside, the two saw a tall man with a muscular build, short dark blonde hair tied, blue eyes, and a slight dark blonde beard. His face was youthful, but the beard gave him a more masculine and mature appearance. The unknown man was also 5'7 tall. He wore a dark green Army shirt, black Levi's jeans, and black shoes.
Jedrek did not know why, but he felt a sense of jealousy towards the man. He had to admit that the man was beautiful, and Jedrek felt threatened by that. However, the more Jedrek looked at him, the more he thought the man looked familiar. "Was this man at the party?"
"Yeah, Alesia, Jedrek, this is my buddy, Fred. Fred, they are Alesia and Jedrek. Jedrek is the guy I was telling you about."
Fred walked forward and shook Alesia's hand. Then, he went to Jedrek. The two men eyed one another. Fred extended his hand, and Jedrek glared at him; he caught the scent of Fred and growled. "Your scent it reminds me of that place!"
Fred saw Jedrek's eyes change, and he slowly backed away, raising his hands midway.
"Jedrek, please calm yourself!" said Alesia.
"So it's true," said Fred. "I guess he never changed. You were part of his experiments."
"What are you talking about?" asked Leo.
Fred sighed. "I knew someone who worked in the facility."
Alesia and Leo were shocked, except for Jedrek. He still glared at Fred and growled. Fred sighed. "Look, man. I'm not your enemy. I had to see you myself when Leo told me about you."
"Wait a minute; you had an idea that a facility was here? Why didn't you say anything to me?" asked Leo.
"I didn't want you to poke your nose in dangerous situations. Knowing you, you would have tried finding the facility near here." Fred focused on Jedrek. "Anyway, I'm amazed that you escaped."
Jedrek rolled his eyes. "I had to plan for so many years to try to escape. Having my freedom was my main motivation."
Fred nodded. "You are pretty smart. I wish I had been when I joined the military. I thought I was fighting for this country's freedom and wanted to please my dad, who wanted me to work with him. However, I saw things no one should see and realized we are being used by the powerful. I found out some secrets that made me quit the military. My old man was pissed, and we never spoke again."
"Oh, I'm sorry," said Alesia.
"Don't be. I am happy that I am thinking and following what I want."
"So, you knew someone who used to work for the facility?" asked Alesia.
Fred nodded. "Yeah, but first, I know some things about it." He eyed Jedrek. "I need you to tell me more about yourself and the facility."
Jedrek raised an eyebrow. "Why?"
"Because there is a 100% chance we will face them."
...............
When Jedrek explained the facility to everyone, all were thoughtful and silent. Fred sat with his hands under his chin. He nodded. "Thanks for the information. Now that I know more of its structure and resources, we better understand what we are fighting against."
"Woah, are you saying that we are going to fight them? Fred, we are a bunch of nobodies compared to that organization! They can kill us off easily!" said Leo.
Fred sighed. "They will kill us all since we know their secret and Jedrek's existence. These people would silence anyone to keep their existence secret."
"That is why I wanted to leave Alesia. I did not want to put her in danger."
Leo glared at him. "Only Alesia, you both got us involved in this!" He then eyed Alesia. "You should let him leave!"
"Shut it, Leo! I am not going to leave Jedrek alone! You were always talking about your conspiracy theories about the government. Talking like you are high and mighty! I can't believe that you're so selfish! That was one of the reasons why I rejected you!"
Jedrek flinched. "So he was interested in Alesia," he thought to himself.
Leo cleared his throat as Fred stood up from his seat. "I will talk with some of my buddies from the military. Many of them hate the government. We can always help a brother in need."
"Thank you," said Jedrek.
"It is no problem, and I would do anything to help." Fred showed himself out of Leo's house. Alesia glared at Leo and motioned for Jedrek to follow her, which he did. They both went back to Alesia's house and the living room.
Alesia massaged the sides of her head, and Jedrek knew she was going through a lot.
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be. It is a lot to take in, but this is what I chose, and I am sticking to it. The bright side is that we are not alone."
Jedrek smiled. "Yeah."
"By the way, I wanted to ask you something."
Jedrek nodded for her to continue.
"When Fred came, you said you recognized his scent from the facility. How is that possible?"
He was silent for a bit. "His scent smelled of another. A person I knew from the facility."
Alesia gasped. "What are you trying to say?"
Jedrek took a deep breath and calmed himself. "I didn't want to say anything because I did not want to make the situation worse than it already was, but with his scent, and if I am correct, he is related to one of the scientists that experimented on me and my parents. He may be the son of Dr. Antony."
