The Last Escape:
Brother:
It felt weird. I mean, visiting the person who's been trying to kill you the majority of your life in court.
This was the most nervous I had ever been in my life. This was nothing like me being in court as a plaintiff with my twin brother as the defendant. It's pretty imaginable seeing how many times he's tried to kill me.
He was brought in just as everyone was seated, silent, pale but equally vicious as he was when I last saw him.
Judge: " Sir Jason Hemsworth, you are charged with attempted murder of your twin sister, Miss Elizabeth Hemsworth. Do you plead innocent?"
Jason: " I was there, at the hospital, I admit that, but I was only there to make sure she was safe, to comfort her after she was almost kidnapped. If trying to do that was criminal, then lock me up for good."
Elizabeth: "To make sure she was safe?! Jason, you pulled out a pistol after the guard left!"
Jason: " To protect you, I pulled out the gun because I was afraid. Do you know what happened with Mother? You know how she was killed when she was alone in the hospital room. And now I'm the villain."
Elizabeth: "To protect me from what?"
Jason: "From what could be out there."
Elizabeth: "Oh, so yourself?"
Jason: "What are you trying to imply?
Elizabeth: "I'm trying to imply that there is undeniable evidence that you tried to kill me that night in the hospital room. I'm trying to imply that this is not the first time you've tried to. Your Honor, may permission be given to show the footage? If Jason wasn't indeed trying to get rid of me, then he should have no objection in me doing so."
Judge: "Permission granted."
The footage clearly shows that Jason tried to eliminate Elizabeth.
Judge: "And after reviewing the footage, it does seem like Jason attempted the murder of Elizabeth, Sir Jason. Do you have anything to say for yourself?"
Jason: "..."
Judge: "The court finds you guilty of attempted murder. You are hereby sentenced to 18 years in prison, with eligibility for parole after 12 years, depending on conduct and further psychological evaluation. This court is adjourned"
I breathed a sigh of relief seeing that he had finally had is court appearance and had been put behind bars in a proper jail cell instead of a simple old room that was guarded by police officer who was asleep half of the time.
That day, I went home and relaxed, knowing all my problems were gone, and i don't have to live in worry any longer. Or so thought.
