Part 1
The teary eyes of a young woman can be seen, then pleading sounds from her voice. 'Please! Let me go!' she screams. As she lies there on a cold, concrete floor, unable to move as though she had been paralyzed, with a shadow of a figure standing over her. The figure raises its arm with what seems to be a sharp weapon in its hand. 'NO! NO! NOOOOOOOO!' yells the young woman as she starts to get struck with the sharp object, over and over again with blood gushing and spilling everywhere.
He opens his eyes, alarm clock sounding, a little bit of sweat on his forehead. He switches off the alarm clock and lies in bed a while; it's morning and time for him to get to college; his name is George Rogers and he is a 19-year-old from a small town called Blueberry, now living in an apartment in the city of Flamebird, Arizona. What a terrible dream he's had, he can still hear the young woman's screams. Sooner or later, he will have to see someone about these dreams he's been having for the past year. After showering, he looks at the time and it's nearly 9am, time for classes to start at campus. He ponders leaving college altogether and finding courses online as he is not a morning person and also is an introvert with social-anxiety and would much rather be home than in a class full of people.
After taking the bus, George arrives at campus just in time for his first class. He is very fortunate to have his apartment in this side of the city where things are more expensive, plus he can afford his college fees because of the will his father left him and his older sister when he died years ago when George was just 8-years old. In class, George is paying close attention to the lecture while taking notes. He looks to his right and notices a very beautiful girl with blue eyes and dark hair with the lightest complexion and he starts to stare. He has seen many beautiful girls on campus but never paid much attention to them and they haven't really noticed him either, but this girl just seems so different, like there's way more to her than just her beauty. She looks up at George and he immediately looks away, tensing up and feeling nervous and light-headed.
When class ends, he walks to his other class feeling nervous, wondering if the dark-haired girl had caught him staring or not. As he walks, he overhears other students talking about something familiar. 'Yo man, they found her body this morning and could barely make out who she was' said one student. 'No way! Ain't that Louise from medical?' said the other student. 'Yeah, she went missing a week ago and only now they found her all bloody and chopped. The killer must've used an axe or something really sharp', said the first student. George was now looking their way, listening to them talk and didn't notice where he was going. He bumped into a girl and both of their sets of books fell. 'Sorry, I'm so sorry!' said George as he scrambled to pick up her books. 'It's okay, the start of a college year can make anyone nervous' said the girl, who picked up George's books. As George looked up, he saw it was the dark-haired, blue eyes girl from class.
He was frozen for a while and didn't know what to say or do. He was stuttering and breathing heavy, anxiety starting to take over. 'Can I have my last book, please' said the girl in a playful, sweet voice and George realized he had frozen when his hands were on the last book. He picked it up and before handing it to her, he saw the title, "How To Escape A Serial Killer". This caught his attention and had him heading to a train of thought. 'You can get up now, if you stay on your knees any longer, people might start to think you're proposing to me' she said playfully. George got up fast and was trying to speak but his words wouldn't come out. 'I... You... well, I...' he stuttered which made the girl smile and reach out her hand. 'I am Claire, what's your name? Try taking a breath' she said. He noticed she has a British accent and was even more intrigued by her, he reached his hand back out to hers and answered, 'George'. The girl smiled, 'Well, very pleased to meet you, George. I don't want to be late for class, I'll see you, yeah?' she said as she walked off with George just giving her a nervous smile, barely looking in her eyes the entire time.
He gets to his next class and as he is getting his seat, a friend comes up behind him from the back row. 'Hey George, nice to see you' says the friend named Matt. 'Hey, Matt' George answers. 'I saw you talking to that British girl, nice man. She's so pretty' says Matt. 'What? That? No, I just bumped into her, wasn't really talking' George says as he and Matt take their seats. 'You bumped into her? Like, you didn't see her in front of you? Come on, man' Matt says while chuckling a bit. 'I actually made a total fool of myself. She won't talk to me anytime soon' George says. 'Did you get her name, at least?' asks Matt. 'Yeah, Claire' George answers while looking forward with a slight smile. 'Awesome, you...' before Matt can finish his sentence, he and his friend doesn't realise the lecture has begun and the professor is quick to remind them, 'Are we going to wait long for you to finish, Mr. Daniels?' the professor asks. George immediately looks down to avoid being put on the spot. 'You, too Mr. Rogers. I expect better from a student with your credentials' the professor says to George.
That night, in George's apartment, he dreads having to go to sleep, fearing he'll have another dream. 'Why does it feel so real? As though I am right there?' he thinks to himself. He gets in bed, looking at his phone, scrolling through his notes he has made in his classes. A woman can be seen from her back, from behind a wall. She has long hair that is tied but still hanging behind her all the way to her lower back; has a white jacket and long black pants. She is busy at a table, she then turns around, 'Who's there?' she says. He retreats behind the wall. George opens his eyes, and yet again, he's had a strange dream. He gets up and readies himself for college. When George gets to campus, he is on the sidewalk and can see other students heading inside the college building.
As soon as he spots Matt, who turns the same time around to face George, four police cars suddenly arrive and pull up to the sidewalk where George stands. 'Mr. George Rogers?' says the one officer that approaches George. 'Uhm, yes...' George says nervously. 'You are under arrest for the gruesome murder of Louise Garver' says the officer and George's heart starts racing uncontrollably and he starts sweating. 'You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can be used...' the officer reads but George's mind is now in a state of panic, trying to figure out what is going on around him; the officer's words seem to fade to the background, as well as other sounds around him.
George is now being handcuffed, arms behind him, looking around frantically, struggling to breathe properly. He can see Matt looking at him in disbelief, other students following suite, and even Claire, who is standing on the stairs of the building at its entrance, looks on in shock. George is put in the back of a police car and looks out of the window, baffled and shocked and scared, all the emotions showing on his face. 'W... Wait. I...' he tries to utter but his words just come out so soft and just sounds like he is making random noises. They arrive at the police station and George is seated in the interrogation room. He looks around nervously, with two policemen in the room with him. 'I am Officer Fisher, and this is my partner Officer Prince' says the one policeman. 'So, we already have all the evidence needed against you. We just need you to confess' says Officer Fisher. George looks up slightly, the policemen look amongst each other and think to themselves that this kid looks way too innocent but still they press on. On the other side of the room window, stands the police chief in a suit next to a female detective.
'Are we sure that's him? He looks scared to death' says the female detective. 'Hard as it is to believe, that's him alright. We have months of evidence pointing to him' answers the police chief. George is then placed in a jail cell, looking out through the bars, not knowing what to say or do as the policemen turn and leave. 'A mute murderer, ain't that something' says the one. 'Wait... I...' George tries to say but he starts to breathe heavier and takes huge gasps trying to get air but is unable to. He is having a panic attack, he has had asthma when he was little but keeps a pump anyway for in case. He drops to his knees, holding his throat, but the policemen just keep walking even though one of them sees George struggling. The female detective rushes in past the two policemen towards George in the cell. 'You assholes! He can't breathe! Help him!' she shouts. 'Are you okay? What's happening?' she asks him. George gestures a pump as he struggles to breathe more and more. The female detective rushes to where George's belongings were stored and passes the two police guards, 'He's probably faking it' says the one while the other laughs.
The female detective gets George's belongings, finds an asthma pump and rushes back to him. The cell is opened by one of the guards because George is now laying down on his side, clutching his throat. She hands him the pump and assists him with pumping as well until it seems he is getting air now. 'Are you okay? Can you breathe?' she asks him. He nods then coughs a few times, as she has her hand on his shoulder, trying to help him up. George manages to get up with the female detective standing beside him and the guard standing at the cell gate, looking on. 'Thank... (coughs) you' George says softly. 'You sure you're okay?' she asks. 'He could have died and then we'd be in deep shit, you know?' she yells to the guard, who shrugs. 'He can't stay in this cell, he obviously has some health problems' says the female detective. The guard answers, 'Not my call, he can...' 'He won't, he just made bail' says a man who enters the room, who turns out to be the police deputy.
George is walked out of the cell by the female detective, and she asks him if he needs anything, he just shakes his head. She gives him her card, telling him to call anytime, he sees her name on the card, Helena Meyer. After getting his belongings, George exits the police building, looking down. When he gets outside, he sees a red Ferrari and standing against it, a familiar face wearing sunglasses and a black leather jacket with a white top and black jeans. 'Lucas!' says George, surprised to see his old school friend. 'The one and only' answers Lucas, who puts his arms out wide. The two hug, then Lucas gets in his car, gesturing George to get in as well. George is hesitant at first but opens the door and gets in anyway. Lucas revs a few times before pulling away in a fast acceleration, the ferrari engine sound gets pass byers' attention.
'I don't know what to say, thanks man. Didn't expect to see you at all' says George as they are driving. 'It's nothing, bro. I had to get you outta there. I came as soon as I heard; they charging you with insane shit' says Lucas. The two haven't seen each other since graduating high school, they have been best friends since freshman year. George was always bullied in school because he was unpopular and wore glasses and was a straight A student, while Lucas was a party goer who played football, (soccer, the actual sport) and had a womanizing reputation. Despite this, the two remained friends, because even though Lucas was popular, he never neglected George and was always trying to get him to go out together and get girls for George; even stood up for George against bullies. George always appreciated his friend always being there and this time was no different, only they haven't seen each other in a while.
Part 2
George is dropped at his apartment, he exchanges numbers with Lucas and enters his apartment. He thinks about what he went through during this crazy morning, his head spinning a bit. He can't go back to campus, all eyes will be on him, but he also can't drop out. What are his options? He has been convicted, so is he even allowed back? He sits and thinks all of this to himself. He is glad to see his friend Lucas, who has come to his rescue yet again, and yet, George can't recall the last time he has ever done something for Lucas. Plus, all these dreams he has been having are so weird and they seem to be somehow connected to the murders he has been convicted of. His head is spinning a bit too much, so he lies down for a while and falls asleep.
When he wakes, it's later in the afternoon, just before 3pm, and he wonders what to do. He looks at his phone and sees some messages. At the top of the messages received, is some from Matt, telling him about the memorial for the Louise girl from their college. There is also a message from the college, George is to stay off campus until his case is resolved; if further convictions arise, then he will be expelled. He puts his phone down on the desk beside his bed and gets up. Meanwhile, at the offices above the police station in the same building, Helena Meyer is standing hunched over at her desk, looking at some images and documents. Then from behind her, Detective Fisher walks in. 'None of this makes any sense Jason, all the forensics show that George Rogers is guilty, but what motive could he possibly have, and he honestly doesn't look like he could hurt a fly, how is this evidence deemed "conclusive"?' she asks. 'There's video evidence as well, he was seen entering and leaving the scene of the crime' answers Jason Fisher. 'Where is it? Let me see' says Helena hastily. 'Woah, the chief doesn't want you on this case, just to observe, remember?' Fisher says.
'Well, let me have a look. I will just be "observing" won't I?' says Helena. Fisher agrees and takes her to the room where the video footage is. They look closely, the video is from a camera outside an old building. It shows a man walking towards the entrance, a single metal door. The man had on glasses, a white jacket that looks like a lab coat; his hair and visible facial features looks exactly like George Rogers. It only lasts a few seconds as he walks to the door and enters, then after some time, he exits the building and only behind him, his back area and legs and head can be seen. Helena replays the video over and over, looking for something, just anything that can prove George's innocence. She eventually decided to take the video footage home. Meanwhile, in a nearby suburban area, a memorial is held at the house of the recently murdered girl, Louise Garver. Her parents stand on the porch in front of the house, holding a candle in their hands. A picture of Louise is on display; more people arrive to show respect, each holding a candle, some putting flowers in front of the porch.
A ferrari then arrives, and out climbs Lucas, now with a denim jacket and sunglasses, same black jeans. George is hesitant to climb out, but Lucas convinces him. George steps out wearing a dark blue hoodie, a black pants and white sneakers. As he climbs out, he spots Matt amongst the crowd, as well as Claire, who both turn and see him. George feels uneasy and as he looks around the crowd, who are all facing forward and don't notice him yet, he looks at the picture of Louise and his eyes goes wide as he realizes he has seen this girl in his dream. She was pleading for her life, flashbacks start taking over but Lucas touches his shoulder, asking if he's okay. He nods but then notices the deceased's parents looking right at him; the rest of the crowd all turn around and face him. There are some angry faces.
'Murderer!' shouts one person from the crowd. 'He didn't do it, you nut!' Lucas shouts back, but the entire crowd starts mumbling amongst themselves. George takes a few steps back, wanting to leave, Lucas looks at him and knows he is very uncomfortable. Just then, Claire comes towards them, looking at George with a sad look on her face. She walks up to Lucas and hugs him, 'Hey, you' she says. 'Hey Claire, how you doing?' says Lucas. George looks at them both confused, before either could talk, some of the crowd of people get aggressive and throw remarks their way with some reaching for rocks. Lucas decides it's time to leave, getting in his fast car, followed by George, 'Hey, wait for me, yeah?' says Claire and she gets in too. Lucas pulls away, with some people following right behind the car and some a few feet in front of it. Lucas steps on the gas and accelerates, the people in front of them having to dive out of the way.
As they are driving, Claire starts to address the situation. 'That was crazy, cuz' she says. 'Cuz?' says George, looking at Lucas. 'Yeah, she my cousin from England' says Lucas. George looks back at Claire, who smiles at him. 'Don't ask how, G. All I know is that our granddad got around' says Lucas. 'And his American grandson turns out the same as him' says Claire. George is sitting and smiling now, subconsciously telling himself he is safe knowing this. He is so used to girls always going for his friend, Lucas, instead of him. 'So, you can still ask her out, bro. Coast is clear. No boyfriend in sight, that I know of...' says Lucas. George feels nervous and avoids looking back at Claire. 'Oh, you just shut up!' says Claire while slightly smiling and looks at George. 'What do I do now?' says George. 'Don't worry man, we'll figure it out' Lucas answers. 'Don't tell him not to worry, Lucas. He is being charged with very serious murders' says Claire. Lucas then suggests they go somewhere private to lay low, but Claire tells him that's a bad idea as it will look suspicious.
The three decide that they will try and find out about the murders themselves, getting answers and clearing George's name, although George is hesitant about this. The next morning, George wakes up and he notices, as soon as he wakes, that his pillow is wet. He has been sweating, his forehead and palms. As he sits up, he starts seeing images of blood in his head. There is blood all over a floor, at the beginning point of the stream of blood, lies a woman on her stomach, on the side of her face, long black hair and a white coat. George's head starts to spin as he gets a massive headache. These images seem more like a memory than a dream. He goes to the bathroom and takes some pills; the holder of the pills falls on the ground as his hands are shaking.
Just then, he hears a loud bang on the front door. 'POLICE! OPEN UP!' shouts the persons from outside. George's heart starts racing; he has no idea what to do. Then another bang, 'OPEN THE DOOR! If you don't open, we'll let ourselves in!' they shout. George's head is now spinning with images of blood showing and as he closes his cabinet and looks in the mirror, an image flashes and he looks like he is wearing glasses with darker eyes and darker hair than his. The police kick down the door and rush in, about five policemen heavily armored with huge firearms. They point at George who looks at them shocked, frozen where he stands. They grab him and throw him to the floor on his face, handcuffing him with his arms behind his back very aggressively. George is still just wearing a white tank top and black track pants. He is aggressively shoved out of his apartment and then as soon as they get outside, he is thrown into a police van. The police van drives off and a ferari arrives in front of the apartment building just barely a minute later.
Lucas and Claire are in the ferari and they see the police van driving off. 'Shit! We didn't make it in time!' says Claire. 'We can still help him, just not as soon as we thought' says Lucas. 'Help him how? He's off to prison and there's no way they're letting him out now! He won't survive in there!' shouts Claire as tears starts coming from her eyes. Lucas puts his arm around her, 'He will be fine, I will make sure of it, promise' he assures her. She looks at him and nods, still with tears coming down her cheeks. Lucas has never seen his cousin this distraught before, she is usually in control of her emotions, it's obvious she cares for George. Just a few hours later, George is put in a maximum-security prison, the court had this approved, and he was notified that his case will only be starting in a month and he had to stay in prison until then.
George is put in his cell; he holds on to the bars and looks at his environment with a terrified look. He then looks back behind him at his cell, so many thoughts running through his head. He notices that there is no one else in the cell with him, so a small sense of relief fills him as he looks forward again through the bars. A while later, a guard opens George's cell telling him to get out as it's lunch, George refuses and wants to stay in the cell, but the guard is adamant. George gets up and walks towards the cell opening and the guard shoves him towards the outside, 'Better get to know the rest of the boys, convict' he says to George condescendingly. As George walks towards where the cafeteria area is, another guard tells George he has a phone call.
George looks at the guard, wanting to say something, but he can't utter a word. He just looks towards where the telephone is hanging and starts walking to it. He picks up the phone, wondering who it could be, dreading that it's his older sister, who he hasn't called in a while. 'Hey man, you good? They treating you right in there?' says the person on the phone, and it is Lucas. George is relieved to hear his voice, 'I'm... I'm fine...' says George. 'Don't even worry about it, man. Me and Claire are on it; we'll get the evidence that'll prove you're innocent' says Lucas. 'Please don't, you could get in trouble too. The law already... wait, Claire?' says George. Lucas tells George that Claire firmly believes in George's innocence and has been at the police station and detectives' offices, pleading with them to release George. Lucas also tells George that he shouldn't worry while in prison because Lucas knows someone inside and he has notified this person about George. As George tries to ask more about this, he hears another prisoner calling him.
'Hey fresh meat! Ya done? Others wanna make calls too' says the prisoner. George freezes, trying to ignore the person. 'Hey! Bitch boy!' the prisoner yells as he walks closer. George still doesn't turn to face the person, so the prisoner switches off George's phone call. George looks at the phone, then puts it back slowly, starting to shake. The prisoner is now standing with his arm hanging on the telephone, standing sideways and looking right at George, who turns to face the prisoner. A black man, big built, tattoos on his arms, black bandanna on his head and some earrings and nose ring. 'I am talking to you, fresh meat. You ain't hear me?' says the prisoner. George looks at him then turns the other way and starts walking.
The prisoner grabs George by the arm, pulls him towards him, then shoves George on the ground. 'I don't want any trouble!' George manages to shout, but the prisoner doesn't let up. He tells George to get up, balling his fists. By now, other prisoners looked and saw what is happening. They get up and move towards where the action is starting. George is still on his knees, lying to his side, looking up at the muscular man who is not going anywhere until George fights him. George sees other prisoners surrounding him, he starts breathing heavier and feels an attack coming...
Part 3
Just then, some prisoners turn to look behind them. Those prisoners seem to be making way, more prisoners start moving apart from each other, some saying amongst themselves, 'It's Dee, he coming'. George looks to his side and sees more prisoners haltingly making way, someone is on their way towards where George is and the other prisoners seem to be fearful of this person. The muscular prisoner also notices what is happening and looks towards the oncoming person. With his back in view, wearing a sleeveless prison jumpsuit, a dark green bandanna, golden cross earrings, tattoos from his elbows down, another pair of tattoos, a skull on either shoulder, as he walks, prisoners look at him almost in awe, moving out of his way as fast as they can. George looks up as the person is now near, walking slowly, a black man with greyish, brown eyes and a mean scowl on his face; his eyes in particular, looks cold and intimidating.
'What do we have here' says the man, who is now right in front of George. 'This punk bitch was taking his sweet time on the phone. I just...' the muscular man tries to explain. The skull tattoos man just looks straight at the muscular man and he stops speaking immediately. This person obviously commands a lot of respect and is the most intimidating because of his intense eyes. He looks down at George, 'What's your name, kid?' he asks. 'George' he answers. 'Oh, so you are L's boy?' he asks. George is at first confused because he doesn't know what he means but then it comes to him, L as in Lucas. 'Yes' says George. The skull tattoos man offers his hand to George, who hesitantly takes it and is helped up. He tells George that he goes by 'D' and that George is safe with him. D tells the muscular man that if he bothers George again, he will cut his eyes out, the muscular man apologizes so much and looks more like a scared child now than the bully he was a minute ago. D walks and puts his arm around George, both now walking off.
Meanwhile, Claire and Lucas are in a coffee shop. She is sitting alone at the table waiting for Lucas who is ordering coffee for them. She is worried, especially since Lucas' call with George was cut off; dreading the worst. As Claire is sitting and thinking, a guy approaches her. He is slightly chubby, caucasian and looks around her age. 'Hey there, pretty. How about I get you something?' he says. 'No thanks' she answers, still not fully responsive to her surroundings and just dismissing his presence. 'Come on, sweetheart. You sitting here all alone looking sad, lemme help ya' he persists. 'I'm with him actually' she answers, pointing to Lucas, who was notably flirting with the female barista.
'Oh, I don't think he's gonna worry about us any time soon, babe' says the guy. 'Maybe if...' he continues as he starts to sit down in front of her. 'Oh no, buddy! Get your arse up! I tried to tell you nicely to leave me the hell alone but you are a persistent one, yeah?' she says. 'The hell you think you are, bitch? I was being friendly and you just started getting rude for no reason!' says the guy. 'Jerk! You better get your fat arse up before I beat the pig out of you!' she shouts, by now, Lucas hears the commotion and sees the guy harassing his cousin, so he rushes to her.
'Hey, move it or lose it, asswipe' Lucas says to the guy as he pulls him from the seat and sits down, his back to the guy. He hands Claire her coffee and begins to drink his as though nothing happened. The guy's 2 friends behind him starts laughing, making him feel embarrassed, so the jerk decides to pull Lucas from the seat by his arm. 'I will whip your ass right here, so your girlfriend can watch!' he shouts as he gets close face to face with Lucas, who just smiles. 'Oh I ain't her boyfriend, bro. I am the friend of the boyfriend, who is in jail right now for multiple murders. Now, they won't let him out, but I'm pretty sure that if I give him a call, he'll break out just to find you and cut you in pieces too for messing with his girl' he says.
'P... p... pieces?' says the jerk as he starts quivering. Lucas takes out his phone and points to it and gives the jerk a look. The jerk's friends look at him and he looks at them, Claire is starting to smile now, witnessing the looks on their faces. 'He's pointing! His finger getting close to the button!' shouts the one friend. 'I... I like being in one piece!' says the other friend. The jerk looks back, then in front at Lucas who was still holding up his phone, looks back again and realizes his 2 friends started to run out of the shop. 'H... Hey! Wait for me!' shouts the jerk as he runs too as fast as he can. Lucas turns to Claire who is chuckling away now.
'You are such a clown, oh my gosh' she says and continues laughing. Other people who witnessed the scene also are laughing amongst themselves. The barista walks to their table, smiling, 'Here I thought you all would get physical and I'd have to put you out' she says. 'Nah, I don't believe in violence, only if you really have to' says Lucas. 'Well, then how do you explain all those fights at school then?' says Claire jokingly. 'Don't mind her, she must be mistaking me, and would you really put out your hero like that?' Lucas says to the barista and winks. The barista leaves blushing while Claire is smiling and looking at Lucas.
She puts her hand on his, 'Thank you' she says. 'Don't mention it, that jerk actually did deserve a beating, but now we won't recognize him the next time because by the time he gets home, he'll have lost all that weight' Lucas answers. 'I haven't laughed like that in a while, that's really what I'm thanking you for' says Claire. The 2 finish their coffees and as they exit the coffee shop, they see a blue classic car pulling up and Helena Meyer gets out. The 2 continue to walk to the ferrari that is parked nearby. 'Wait, can I talk to you both?' says Helena as she walks faster towards them. 'I don't suppose you wanna talk to me alone, huh?' says Lucas with a smile. Helena just looks at him. 'We have nothing to say to you, Detective' says Claire.
Lucas opens the door for Claire then goes to the driver's side to get in his car. 'I believe George is innocent too' says Helena, this gets the cousins' attention. 'So, why is he in jail right now, then?' says Claire. 'Because I can't prove anything just yet' says Helena. 'Why are you telling us then?' asks Lucas, as he stands at the driver's side with his arms on the roof of his car, looking at Helena. 'I want to show you something, please just follow me' says Helena. She manages to convince them to follow her to her house. As they enter, Helena takes off her jacket and urges the cousins to make themselves at home while she gets her laptop. They stand and look around the living room.
'Well, Detective, I feel like we should have gotten to know each other better first before you brought me home' Lucas jokes, which just gets an eye roll from both women. The detective shows them the video she has been watching on her laptop as she puts it on the living room table. The cousins sit down and watch closely. 'That's definitely NOT George!' says Claire. 'I agree, even though they look similar' Helena answers. 'What do we do now?' asks Lucas. 'We have to find whoever this is, I am going to the last scene of the recent murder. I want you 2 to continue dissecting this video' says Helena. 'I'd thank you, but I guess you're just doing your job, huh Detective?' says Claire.
'Actually, I am not supposed to be on this case. My co-workers are on this case, I could get in huge trouble if the chief finds out what I'm doing' answers Helena. The cousins question why she is risking her career for someone she doesn't know but she just pauses and tells them she knows how it feels when a loved one is wrongly accused. She also tells them a strange detail of the murders; 'The killer seems to take a piece with him after every murder. Like fingernails, hair strands, skin, or whatever he can' she says. 'So, we find these, and we find the killer?' says Claire. 'Yes, George's apartment was searched and none of those were ever found' says Helena. 'So, this guy likes to collect stuff' says Lucas. 'That's right, as of today, he's known as "The Collector"' says Helena.
Back at prison, a little later in the day, George is sitting on the prison bed, D is standing across from him. 'So, as you can see, we're cellmates. I wasn't here earlier cause I was doing some other stuff' says D. He notices George holding his stomach, 'You hungry?' he asks George. 'No, I'm fine' George answers. 'Bullshit, lemme get you something' says D. George doesn't want D to go through any trouble for him but doesn't want to tell him to stop either. After a whistle, a guard approaches the cell and hands D some food, hamburger and fried chips. He hands it to George who hesitantly takes the hamburger, before slowly taking a bite, then starts eating the hamburger hastingly, surprising himself at how hungry he is.
'Don't worry, man. I got you in here' says D. George looks up and nods in appreciation, while still eating his meal. D is now standing with his back against the cell and arms crossed. The guard returns and whispers something in D's ear. He looks at George and just says 'Be right back' as the guard opens the cell for him and he exits, walking off with the guard. That night, George is lying on the bed on his back, lying on the bottom bunk while D is lying on the top. George just stares up, so many thoughts going through his head. One of the thoughts in his mind, is Claire. He wonders what she may be doing, what she smells like and how it would feel to have her lying right next to him.
At the same time, Claire is on her bed as well, unable to think of anything else besides George, staring at the ceiling and imagining him next to her. Back to George, who now turns to his side. He knows he won't be able to sleep and is somewhat relieved; he doesn't wish to experience another nightmare just to wake up to another. Meanwhile, Claire gets up and puts on a coat, feeling restless; she needs to get answers. She takes a cab to the old building where the last murder was. When she gets there, she notices that the old metal door is standing slightly open. She walks closer, slowly.
'What are you doing, Claire? You know in every film you watch, this is how the dumb girl is caught by the creepy creep' she says to herself. 'Just go home, let the police do their job, yeah? Okay... going home' she continues to tell herself, but then she thinks about George and how she feels compelled to help him. She then gets startled by a nearby light that seems to be moving, she turns to run towards where she came from but bumps into a man, nearly falling backwards. 'Claire? What are you doing here?' he says and as Claire looks up, she sees its Lucas.
She explains that she was looking for clues and Lucas explains he was doing the same but is not pleased that she came out all by herself at night. The cousins then enter the building and look around. It's dark but Lucas has a flashlight, they hear a sound, and Claire jumps into Lucas' arms. They look and see a rat, 'Haha, scaredy cat. Where is my fearless, hard-headed cousin at?' Lucas jokes. Claire hits him on his chest then takes the flashlight and shines where the rat is.
Meanwhile, George's eyes are getting heavy, his eyes closes, and he sees what looks like a bright light flashing. He opens his eyes, but not long and he falls asleep again. He sees a window, like he is standing outside looking through it. Inside the house he sees a woman wearing a brown jacket from her back view. He then opens his eyes and sits up immediately, 'That's it!' he shouts.

Part 4
George gets up from bed, he looks around. D hears the movement and when he looks down his bunk, he sees a restless George. 'What up, can't sleep?' he asks George. 'I figured it out... I figured it out...' says George. D is confused but sits up and asks George what he means. George explains that he has been having dreams about people being murdered and it always felt real until the recent dream turned out to be a girl from his college that was killed.
'Man, everybody in here say they innocent, but you is straight up in denial' D says. 'You don't understand, I... I thought for a minute I did all of those... murders, too, but I just saw the detective and that means the real killer is out there watching her' says George. 'Where you see her at? You mean like a vision?' asks D, who is now intrigued. 'Yeah, before that last girl was killed, I saw her at some place, looked like she was sitting at a table with make-up and stuff like that. She turned around and then I... well the killer, hid behind a wall. That's when I woke up' says George.
'Oh, and then the next time you seen her, she was dead, right? Almost like you and the killer sees the same thing?' says D. 'Yes, I have to do something. Can't let another innocent person die' says George. 'What you gon' do? You stuck in here, police think you their guy. You can't tell 'em it ain't you 'cause you see through the real killer's eyes and he out there' says D. 'Detective Meyer, I gotta tell her' says George. 'Is there any way I can get a message to her, or Lucas maybe?' he asks D. 'Alright, look, I can get you a call to L but that's it' says D. George nods, then looks down and back up again at D. 'So, how do you know each other?' he asks his cellmate.
'We do business together' answers D. George looks confused and wonders what he could mean, but at the same time he is trying to focus on getting the message out of what he has discovered. Meanwhile, Detective Helena is sitting at her desk at her home and looking at the video footage while also looking through some documents. She is reviewing all of the murders since it started, there are images of victims butchered and gruesome wounds. She tries her best to focus and not be overwhelmed by the sheer violence she is witnessing; just then, her phone rings and startles her. 'Geez! Dammit...' she says, then picks up her phone.
'Detective Meyer' she says answering the phone. 'Hi Detective, nice to hear your voice' says the person on the phone. 'Who is this?' she asks. 'Doesn't matter, but I think you know. Here I am again, helping you with yet another case' says the other person, and by now Helena recognizes it's D. 'You? What do you want, and how are you calling me from a highly secured prison?' she asks. 'No need to worry about that, I have something that'll give you a breakthrough on the case you are not supposed to be working on. Someone here to speak to you, I'll ask for my favor later' says D. 'How the hell? You...' says a confused Helena. 'H... Hello? Detective Meyer?' says George. Helena smiles when she hears his soft voice.
'How are you? Are you okay? How did you get involved with that gangster?' she asks George. 'I can't talk long, I just want to tell you that I think the killer is after you next' he says. 'What? How do you know?' she asks. 'I just... well I saw...' George tries to explain. 'It's okay; look, I'll come see you tomorrow' she says. 'Okay' answers George. Helena tries to ask more, 'So, how are things? Do you...' 'Oops, that's all for now. Have a good night, I'll be in touch, Detective' says D and hangs up. Helena knows that she should report something like this, a call from a prisoner in jail but she also knows that this is an important case and if she can get the evidence she needs, then she will be taken more seriously as a detective.
George is now aware that the clues to solving the mystery and murders, lies in his dreams. So, he gets to sleep and tries to see if he will find anything new and make notes when he wakes. Then George wakes up the next morning, and he looks around and sees his cellmate is sitting against the wall near the corner. D is looking down the entire time but then looks up and sees George, and it seems like he is returning from a different world, 'Rise and shine' he says. By the look in his eyes, it's clear he hasn't gotten much sleep, if any at all. Meanwhile, Claire wakes in her bed and gets up. She looks in her mirror in her bathroom and thoughts of the last few days goes through her head. Then her phone rings.
'Hello' she answers; it's Lucas, who invites her to eat out at a diner nearby. Later, after a few hours, she arrives at the diner and enters. She sees Lucas sitting at a table, and there is another guy sitting with him. She nears them and greets, then puts her handbag on the table and sits down. 'I already ordered, cuz' says Lucas. 'Hey, Claire' says the other guy, who turns out to be Matt. Claire looks at him and it takes her a while, but then she recognizes him. 'It's Matt, from college. I'm George's friend' he says. 'Yeah, I know, I recognize you' says Claire. 'Man, it's so weird. Who would have thought, our mild-mannered, introverted friend would turn out to be a serial killer' says Matt, this gets both Lucas and Claire looking at him with wide eyes.
'The hell you just say?' says Lucas. 'He is NOT a serial killer!' shouts Claire. People in the diner hear and look their way. 'Guys, I'm just saying. It's very hard to believe for me too, but everything points to him' Matt says as he has his hands up. 'He is not the damn killer and we are going to prove his innocence' says Claire, who has somewhat calmed herself. 'You supposed to be his best bro, why would you say that shit?' asks Lucas. 'Guys, I mean no disrespect, but you both don't know George like I do. He's a great guy, but is a bit weird. There are so many things I've seen that I never said to anyone because he is my friend' says Matt. 'I know him since high school, you better watch what you saying there, Matt' says Lucas. 'What weird things?' asks Claire.
'I have known him since before high school, when we were little kids' says Matt. He tells them that George is obsessed with the human anatomy; as kids, they would catch lizards and squirrels, then cut them open and do 'experiments' on them. George was always the initiator. He seemed to get excited at the thought of seeing blood and guts. The 2 kids eventually started catching mice then cats and did the same to those animals, but after a while, after the first cat, Matt didn't want to play these games anymore. He says that this offended George so much that one day, when Matt went to his backyard, his mother screamed and pointed to multiple butchered cats lying all around with their guts beside them and blood everywhere. Matt's mother was yelling and cursing; when Matt turned around, he saw George in the doorway smiling, with a sinister grin on his face.
After the diner meeting, Lucas is walking to his car, followed by a distraught Claire. Matt had already left, Lucas turns around and looks at Claire. He puts his hands on her shoulders and looks her in the eye, 'We will figure this out, okay?' he says. After he turns around to get in his car, Claire stops him, 'How?' she asks. 'Okay look, get in. I have an idea, don't let what that fool says get to you' says Lucas. 'Where are we going?' asks Claire, as Lucas is opening the door for her. After he gets in his car and starts it, he says 'There's only one way to find out if he's telling the truth'. They drive off to see George's older sister to have a talk with her.
Meanwhile, Helena arrives at the prison. After showing her badge to a few people, she gets to the visiting area. There's a glass with a telephone on the side. She sits down and waits, after just a few minutes, George arrives. He sits down and takes the phone and puts it to his ear; Helena is glad to see him and is still astonished by the meek look on his face, looking very out of place in a prison full of dangerous criminals. 'Hey, thanks for coming' says George. He is still not looking Helena square in the eyes. 'How have you been, George?' she asks. 'Been better' he answers. 'So, I see you have made some friends in here' says Helena. George nods as he looks at her then looks down again. 'You have to be careful with Dernal, he is very dangerous' Helena warns him. 'He has been good to me' says George.
She wants to ask more about their relationship but stops herself, thinking she should solve this case first and prove George's innocence. 'So, what is it you wanna tell me?' she asks. 'Oh uhm... at night, I have dreams. I mean, like very vivid dreams' says George. 'Dreams? About what?' asks Helena. 'The murders, the victims... The...' says George as he looks down holding his head in his hand. 'Okay, slowly. Please tell me what you see' says Helena. 'Okay, I have been having these nightmares for about a year. I see people, women, men... mostly women screaming and being... attacked. Then blood everywhere' says a hesitant George. Helena is now very interested, and asks him to explain more, as best as he can.
He tells her that it started when he was in high school, he explains that he would wake up some nights in sweat, and other times he would wake up in the morning with a headache. He tells her exactly what he saw before the recent girl died and the morning of his arrest. Helena puts her hand on the glass and promises she will get George out of prison and find the real killer. He lifts his hand to touch where hers is, but the prison guard grabs him and tells him his time is up. He is taken back to his cell. Helena watches as they take him, but then as she looks to her side, there are more visiting areas with prisoners behind glass. She sees D standing and looking right at her, this startles her and he grins.
Meanwhile, Claire and Lucas are in the town Blueberry, at George's older sister's house. 'What! But how?' shouts George's sister. 'I'm sorry Jenna. I promise I'm doing everything I can to get him out' says Lucas while standing. He and Claire are in the kitchen with Claire sitting at a table. Jenna has her face in her hands and Lucas walks to her and puts his hand on her shoulder. 'If you can remember anything, please just tell me, okay?' Lucas says. Jenna tells them about the mice and cats that were butchered and that Matt's mother has reprimanded him.
'So, Matt killed all those cats?' asks Claire. 'He did, at least that's what his mom said. Come to think of it, he never admitted doing it' says Jenna. The 2 cousins sit for a while and listen as Jenna tells them about George's childhood and how he changed after their father died in an accident when George was just 8 years old. He stopped talking, stopped playing with friends and just closed off completely, needing therapy. Their mother also fell very ill at that time and was hospitalized since then. Lucas has his hand on Jenna's the entire time she's talking with the most sincere look in his blue eyes. Claire asks to be excused, and goes to the bathroom. She sees some pictures of George and his family while she walks through the hallway, she takes one and looks closer; it's of George and his mother and father, the biggest smile on his face. Claire feels warm looking at the picture, but as she walks to the bathroom and passes a closet, she looks closer to see glasses, small cracks on them and right next to it, a lab coat hanging...
Part 5
Lucas and Claire are now driving back to the city, music is playing with Lucas singing along. Claire, on the other hand, remains silent. 'Ah, ah, ah ah, staying alive, staying alive' sings Lucas. 'Staying alive....' he sings but as soon as he looks at Claire, who is now giving him a stern look, he stops. 'A murderer is on the loose, yeah, dumb song choice' says Lucas as he looks forward and switches the music. 'I don't know anymore. George seems like such a sweet guy, but this whole thing is just so... I don't know' says Claire. 'We will get him out, Claire. We can't give up' says Lucas. 'His sister just confirmed what that Matt was saying. There is a lot about him we both don't know. About his past, about the accident, and someone named Alise' says Claire. 'Sure, there's a lot we don't know about his past but that doesn't make it right for us to turn on him, he needs us' says Lucas, who pauses for a breath before continuing, 'And sure he was broken after Alise, but I...' 'Alise Mandam? Wait, I've read somewhere about an Alise Mandam that was family of another victim' Claire interrupts.
Claire searches on her phone and finds an article online. 'Lillith Mandam, that was the first victim. She was killed over a year ago, she was Alise's sister' says Claire. She asks Lucas everything he knows about that time. He tells her that George was dating an Alise in high school and then she cheated on him, which devastated him so much that he shut off and didn't want to leave his home. After a short while, they heard of Alise's sister's death and the school held a memorial. 'This all sounds horrific. I don't want to believe George is a killer, but...' says Claire. 'But nothing, he not a killer. Maybe we just keep looking to find something, anything' says Lucas. 'I saw a lab coat in the closet over at his sister's house' says Claire.
They are now entering the city, 'You mean, like...' Lucas tries to ask. 'Yeah, like the one the person was wearing in that video footage' says Claire. Lucas was now looking baffled, not knowing what to say or do. Lucas' phone rings and he picks up his phone, first looking at Claire in a somewhat guilty way, 'Hello' he says. 'Who's that?' asks Claire. 'No one important' he answers before continuing on the phone, 'Yeah, man. I know... sure, yeah I got it. Cool'. Claire now crosses her arms and looks at Lucas, who slows down and starts pulling over to a sidewalk near another facility. 'Sure, bro. I got you' Lucas says then hangs up. He then looks at Claire, 'One of your girlfriends?' she asks. 'Uhm, no. I gotta do something, lemme take you home' says Lucas.
'And just why can't I come with you, huh?' she asks. 'Come on, I jus...' Lucas tries to explain. 'I'm teasing, I really don't want to know what you going to do and with who' says Claire. Lucas drives Claire home, the sweet sound of a Ferrari accelerating and driving off. Next, we see a cellphone in someone's hand, it's D and he is sitting on a bunk in prison in the cafeteria area. He was the one who called Lucas about their 'business'. George is sitting next to him, fiddling with his food. Across from them sits 2 other men, both black and tattooed. 'So, that boy L gon' handle it?' asks the one man. 'Yes, fool, he always coming through' D answers. George looks up slightly but tries not to make any eye contact. 'So, G, this dumbass right here is Keith, but we call him Killer, and next to him is Marcus the Bald' says D.
'Screw you, D' answers Marcus, while everyone at the table laughs. George is astounded, this prison boss who everyone fears, is sitting and cracking jokes with friends like a normal, everyday person. So, while George was still struggling to accept his environment, he felt a certain sense of calmness. He laughs as well; 'So G, I heard you are quite the killer yourself out there. The Collector they call ya, right?' asks Marcus. 'I'm Killer, fool' says Keith. 'I didn't kill anyone' says George, almost in a snapping tone. He then looks down at his food, realizing he raised his voice to a convicted killer, but also thinking to himself, if people in prison thought he was really this psychotic killer, then maybe they'd be too afraid to mess with him.
'Alright man, whatever you say' says Marcus, which interrupts George's train of thought somewhat. A guard walks over to their table, 'Excuse me' he says. 'Anything you need, Josh?' asks D as he just turns his head slightly to the direction of the guard who is standing behind him. 'I am sorry to interrupt, D, but there is a phone call for The Collector... I mean George Rogers', George is now looking up in the direction of the guard, then looks at D, who just looks at George and nods. As George gets up, D tells Marcus to go with him. George approaches the telephone and picks it up, 'Hello?' he says.
'George! Oh Georgie, are you okay?' says the person on the other line. George immediately recognizes his sister's voice, 'Jennie?' he says. 'Why didn't you tell me anything? I had to find out from someone else that you are in jail' says Jenna. 'I'm sorry' says George. 'How are you coping in there, Georgie?' she asks. 'I'm fine, I met some friends in here' answers George. 'I just don't understand how they could throw you in jail like this, I didn't tell them anything' says Jenna. 'Them?' asks George. 'Yes, the cops and some of your friends' says Jenna, and George's face is now looking confused, facing Marcus' way. Marcus stands near George with his arms crossed, like a bodyguard. 'Lucas called you?' asks George.
'No, he came to see me' answers Jenna, then continues, 'He and some British girl'. 'Claire? But why were they there? What did they want?' asks George. 'Don't worry Georgie, I didn't tell any of them about your disorder' says Jenna. 'My disorder?' says George, and he tries to continue, 'Jen, you know I...' 'Yes, your disorder where you go to sleep then get up in the middle of the night and wander' says Jenna. George has now a surprised look on his face, with Marcus standing there, looking concerned. 'Everything alright, dawg?' asks Marcus. George looks at Marcus slowly and his facial expression begins to change, his meek-looking face and soft eyes now turn into something like a deep anger expression, almost sinister.
Meanwhile, Helena Meyer is at her office going through documents. Another detective walks in with a concerning look on his face. 'Helena, you're in trouble' says Detective Fisher. 'I am? How come?' she asks. 'Well, the chief got wind of you working on this case, now he's pissed' answers Detective Fisher, as Helena turns to face him with her hands on her hips. 'How did he even find out? It was only you and Oscar who knows I'm working on this case, and you 2 would never sell me out, would you?' she says. 'Of course not, I was just as surprised-' says Detective Fisher but a ringing phone interrupts him. 'Oh, that's probably him' says Detective Fisher. Helena looks at him before pausing and picking up the phone. 'Hello' she answers, 'Yes Sir, right away' she says and then walks past Detective Fisher towards the door. 'Good luck' says Detective Fisher.
She gets to the door of the chief's office which reads, 'Chief of Dep. William Carter'. She enters slowly and the chief is sitting at his desk, looking down. 'Hi, chief. You wanted to see me?' says Helena. The chief is still looking down, busy going through some pages on his desk. Helena now stands there awkwardly, looking at her feet with her arms behind her back. The chief finally looks up then puts his hands together, crossing his fingers. 'Detective Meyer, do you wish to tell me something?' says the chief. 'Uhm, no. I was hoping you would tell me, sir' says Helena. 'Okay, we're being funny now' says the chief as he gets up from his chair and stands in front of his desk. He continues, 'So, you think that there would be no repercussions for your actions?'. 'If you are talking about the case, sir, I can explain. I just...' Helena explains before being interrupted. 'There is no case! The case is closed, the killer is in jail and that's that!' says the chief.
'With all due respect, sir, I think that was a mistake' says Helena. 'The evidence says otherwise, Detective. You have gone against my orders, broke regulations and contacted prisoners incarcerated. I have to take action' says the chief. 'What? The prisoner contacted me, that's not fair' says Helena. 'Still, you took shortcuts in trying to solve a case that's already been solved' says the chief. 'I know the real killer is out there! George is innocent. Please just let me solve this...' says Helena. 'No! As soon as George Rogers was imprisoned, the murders stopped, so there's nothing left to say on that front' says the chief. 'I saw him, and he said...' Helena tries to explain. 'You are taking a leave of absence, Helena. I'm sorry, but you will have to go home and let this go!' says the chief.
Helena couldn't believe it, she believed she was so close to solving this mystery, but now she is much further than she was from solving anything. Meanwhile, Claire is sitting in class during a lecture. She tries hard to focus on the lesson and her notes, but her mind keeps wandering. She looks back to the seat where George usually sits and is disappointed when she doesn't see him, almost as if she subconsciously expected to. She then decides she needs clarity, or closure, or whatever just to feel better about this entire situation. When she gets outside after the school day is over, she sees a familiar Ferrari standing in the road as she stands at the building entrance looking down the stairs and sidewalk.
Lucas stands waiting for her but is not looking her way, instead, he is talking to another girl who is standing at his side in the road bending towards him. Claire walks down the stairs and approaches the car as Lucas barely notices her while chatting up the girl. Claire stands holding her books in one hand and her other hand on her hip. The girl looks up and sees Claire, then faces her with a scowl and that's when Lucas turns to face Claire as well. 'Oh, hey' he says. 'I should've known you prefer girls with accents!' says the girl as she angrily walks off, leaving Lucas confused and looking at the girl and Claire. 'She's my cousin! Hey, Stacy, wait!' says Lucas. Claire cracks a smile, being amused, 'Her name is Lydia' says Claire. 'Oh, right. Come on, get in' says Lucas and Claire gets in the car as Lucas puts on his shades and drives off.
'Where are we going?' asks Claire. 'To that Detective Meyer, she gave me a call' says Lucas. 'Okay, so she has something new?' asks Claire. 'I think so, hopefully. Sooner we get George out, the better' says Lucas. 'Did you sort your business you had?' Claire asks. 'Oh, yeah. I did' says Lucas. 'Okay, and your friend is satisfied, yeah?' says Claire. 'What you talking about?' asks Lucas. 'Dernal, or D. I saw it was him that called you, and I figured out you do "jobs" for him' says Claire. 'I have no idea what you're talking about' says Lucas, while keeping his focus in front of him, not looking at Claire. 'I'm not stupid, I know you have been working with him for a while now. It's obvious, there's no way a student loan and working as a free-lance model gets you a Ferrari' Claire says as she crosses her arms, looking at Lucas.
'I can explain..' Lucas says. 'It's okay, Lucas. I won't tell on you, I just wish you were honest with me from the start' says Claire. 'What was I supposed to say, "Oh hey Cousin, I deal drugs and other illegal stuff. How have you been?"' says Lucas. 'No, of course not, just...' as Claire was talking, Lucas noticed a black car in the mirror. He steps on the gas pedal and drives faster. 'What the...?' says Claire. 'Hold on!' says Lucas as a chase ensues.
Part 6
The Ferrari swerves and makes a sharp right turn, while the black car drives in close range chasing. The windows are tinted, just then, someone from the black car starts shooting at Lucas and Claire. 'Lucas!' shouts Claire as she holds on while the car is driving fast and shots are being fired. Lucas reaches below his seat then takes out his own gun, a 9mm pistol, and shoots back. While Claire is in a state of panic, holding on for dear life, when she looks at Lucas, he seems to be calmer than one would expect someone to be in a daring situation like this. This made Claire somewhat relieved, but the shots were still being fired in their direction, as they came to a highway road with more vehicles.
As the Ferrari entered the highway, the black car was right behind, so Lucas made a sharp 180 turn, passing the black car. The black car stops and tries to turn around to catch up, but the Ferrari is now long gone. Lucas drives through a few blocks before stopping at a building site. 'What the hell was that?' asks Claire. Lucas gets out of the car and makes a call to D, with Claire still in the car trying to catch her breath. She looks back, then to her side and then to Lucas, realizing he is not answering her and she gets out of the car. 'Hey!' she shouts. Lucas then hangs up, 'It's okay cuz, I'll handle it. You're safe now' he says. 'Safe? We just got shot at! And just why aren't we calling the police? Give me that' says a frantic Claire as she tries to grab Lucas' phone to call.
'Hey, calm down, Claire! It'll be okay, I promise. There's no need to call the cops' says Lucas. Claire takes a few deep breaths, 'Okay, so who was after us?' she asks. 'Let's get in and get outta here, I'll tell you' says Lucas. They both get back in the car and Lucas drives to the detective's house. 'So, they are basically rival drug dealers that were after us?' asks Claire. 'Yep, but D will handle them. So don't worry' says Lucas. Meanwhile, in prison, D is standing at his bed in his cell with his phone in his hand. George sits on his bed, 'Are they okay?' he asks, after having heard the conversation between Lucas and D over the phone. 'They're fine' answers D. 'Can I talk to Claire?' asks George. D smiles and goes to sit next to George. 'You really like this girl, don't you?' he says. George looks down at the floor, 'Yeah, I guess' he says.
'Bruh, ain't no guessing when it comes to love. You either do or you don't' says D. 'What if she doesn't feel the same?' asks George. 'We never know for sure, but it's a killer not to at least try' says D. George nods and looks at D thinking what a nice guy this is. George has always thought of gang bosses especially ones in prison as evil, but here is this guy who has shown nothing but kindness. That night, George lies on his bed. He has a lot on his mind, he thinks about what his sister told him, what happened to Lucas and Claire and what Helena said. As he lies and is thinking, he can hear thunder in his mind, along with screams. 'Georgie! Hold on!' says a female in his thoughts sitting in the front seat of a spinning out of control car. Wheels screeching and a crash, 'Daddy!' says a little George sitting in the car, all happening in George's mind.
He sits up on the bed, breathing heavy. He looks around, realizing he was dreaming about the accident again and put his head back down. He sees a familiar hallway, a kitchen table, then a closet with glasses on it and a lab coat hanging. He takes the lab coat and puts it on, then puts on his glasses and his face can be seen in the mirror. A cold gaze, dark eyes and sinister face. 'Danny! Is that you?' shouts a woman's voice from a distance. He moves towards the room door, just then, George wakes up. As he looks around, he sees D washing his face. D looks at George then forward again and puts a bandanna on his head. George feels uneasy about what he just saw. In the cafeteria area, as they are eating, a guard approaches George and tells him he has a visitor. George gets up and as he approaches the visiting area, he sees Lucas.
As the 2 sit down in front of a glass that separates them, they take the phone hanging at the side and start to talk. 'How you doing, man?' asks Lucas. 'I'm fine' says George. 'You hang in there, we'll get you outta here' says Lucas. George nods and just looks at his friend. 'I have a surprise for you' says Lucas, George's face changes. 'Relax, I know you don't like surprises, but I promise you'll love this one' says Lucas as he turns his head to look over his right shoulder. That is when Claire emerges and walks toward them, her eyes meeting George's and his meeting hers. Both staring at each other in disbelief and as Claire gets closer, George stands up slowly. Lucas stands up from his seat and leaves it for Claire, who gets to the glass and puts her hand on it. George follows suit, putting his hand where hers are. 'Hey' says Claire, with an in-love teenager's look in her eyes. 'Hey' says George. Both then look at the phone hanging and realize they can't hear each other.
They sit down and put the phones to their ears, 'How are you?' asks Claire. 'I'm good' says George, with the biggest smile on his face. 'It's so good to see you, I came as soon as they cleared us to visit this prison' says Claire. 'It's good to see you too, Claire' says George. 'I always believed in you, George. We will prove your innocence no matter what. Even though I started having slight doubts, just seeing you removed them completely' says Claire. George looks down, 'You had doubts?' he asks, then looks up again. 'I was just very stressed and some things we found just...' Claire continues. 'Why did you go see my sister?' asks George, his voice not sounding so soft anymore. 'Well, we were just following leads' says Claire. George now looks right at Claire, his smile disappeared. 'We were at Helena's place and she said she might have good news' says Claire.
'Really?' asks George. 'Yeah, she is trying to let them have you psych-evaluated so that you could be tried differently, not as a dangerous criminal but as someone who needs help' says Claire. 'Yeah? But I didn't do any of it, so there's nothing wrong with me' says George. 'It's the best she can do, so just hang in there, yeah?' says Claire. George doesn't know how to feel about having his mental state evaluated but he is keen on getting out of prison soon. The 2 keep looking at each other, a slight smile reappearing on George's face. Then a guard approaches George, 'Time's up' he says. 'Bye' says Claire as she smiles at George and stands up. 'Bye' says George and he stands up as well and is handcuffed again but this time, the guard is more gentle. Claire walks to the exit, where Lucas stands and looks at her then at George, then the 2 exit.
Meanwhile, Detective Jason Fisher is seen parked in his car outside of a house in a suburban area. Helena Meyer then gets in, 'Well, let's get going' she says. Fisher just sighs and starts the car, 'I could get in so much trouble for this' he says. 'That's why I appreciate this so much, Jason' says Helena. They drive a few more blocks, 'Oh, oh, over here, stop here' says Helena. They stop at a house and face the house across the street. They have driven all the way to the town of Blueberry and are standing across from George's sister's house. Helena pulls out her laptop and opens it. 'What are you looking at?' asks Fisher. 'You keep your eyes on the house and look for movement. Don't worry about me' says Helena. Fisher tries not to make a remark as he just looks at her, realizing he can't look anywhere else except her way because she is sitting at the right side of him, the same side the house is they're watching.
'Okay, so here are some old medical records of George Rogers when he was younger. I found he's had some episodes after his father's death' says Helena. 'Episodes? What episodes?' asks Fisher. 'Sleep walking, withdrawals, outbursts, attacks... his sister though, she never mentioned any of this and also that she suffers from the same symptoms' says Helena. 'So what? If George Rogers isn't guilty then you're saying his sister, Jenna Rogers could be?' says Fisher. 'I am not sure, but whatever is going on, I think she plays a huge role in us finding The Collector' says Helena. The 2 sit and watch Jenna's house for a while. Fisher can't help but look at Helena, at her hair, skin, hands, face. 'Maybe we should change seats?' says Helena, which interrupts Fisher's thoughts. 'Wha... what?' says Fisher as he is slightly startled. 'Since you keep looking at me and can't focus on the job' says Helena as she looks in Fisher's eyes with a playful yet professional smile.
'I'm sorry, I just wonder... sometimes' says Fisher. 'Wonder about...?' asks Helena. 'You', answers Fisher, 'If you've found someone new, and how you are... coping' he says. Her face changes to one that looks brave but with some vulnerability in her eyes. Then she looks down in front of her and sighs, 'I am okay, you know. The past is the past, we can't change it. We just have to learn to live with it' says Helena as she faces Fisher again. He smiles at her, a look of vulnerability in his eyes as well, trying hard to not say the wrong thing in this moment. He is sitting right next to a woman who he has always cared for and admired and he doesn't want to jeopardize their friendship but also yearns to tell her how he feels, and so the conflicted look is shown on his face.
Then a cell phone rings, and the 2 look around and feel their pockets. It's Fisher's phone that has rang, 'Hello?' he answers. 'Yes sir. Oh, I was just driving and following a lead, sir' he says as Helena looks at him, clearly he is being called by the chief. 'Where am I? Uh... Well, a little further out of the city. Oh, sure. Yes sir, I'll be right there' Fisher says on the phone and then puts it away. 'You have to go?' asks Helena. 'Yes, let me take you home' says Fisher. 'Home? No way, I am still on a steak out here and I'm seeing it through' says Helena. 'But it's getting late, and how will you get back to the city?' asks Fisher. 'I'll be fine, Jason. You go, before the chief gets suspicious' says Helena.
As Fisher drives off with a look of concern, Helena just stands on the sidewalk, then she sits on a nearby bench. She sits and watches the house but decides to take a closer look, so she walks across the street and enters the front yard. Then she walks around to the back door, seeing no movement through the windows, she assumes no one is home. She picks the lock of the door and enters the house slowly, the door making a creaking sound. As she enters, she looks around, and finds a flashlight on a desk nearby. She walks towards a hallway and past a bathroom, then sees a closet. There are some clothes hanging, a few jackets, but as she looks closer, she sees a pair of glasses. The back door then opens slowly and quietly, with someone entering. Helena is focused on the pair of glasses and doesn't hear someone come up behind her. The person can see Helena from the back clearly and approaches, just then, Helena hears the sound and drops her flashlight and screams in shock.
Part 7
As Helena turns around, she sees a woman behind her, the woman is George's sister, Jenna. 'What the hell are you doing in my house, Detective?!' shouts Jenna. 'I... I'm sorry' Helena manages to get out as she catches her breath. 'Why are you sneaking around in my house, huh? I nearly knocked you out!' says Jenna. 'I am just looking for clues' says Helena, now with her hand on her chest, 'just anything so I can get your brother out of prison and clear his name' she says. Jenna picks up the flashlight, then walks a few feet to the kitchen door and flips on the light switch. 'Well, why break into my house rather than ask me directly?' asks Jenna, who is a bit calmer now. 'I'm sorry, Miss Rogers, but I didn't see any other way. I just really want some evidence' says Helena, who lowers her hand and takes a step forward from the closet.
'Okay, but I told you everything I know and I don't think you will find any "evidence" of any sort in my house' says Jenna, as she walks to a table and takes something out of a draw. She takes out a pack of cigarettes and pulls out one, 'Got a light?' she asks. 'Sure' says Helena as she hands Jenna a pack of matches. Jenna lights her cigarette, 'I know about George's medical history, I paid a visit to Blueberry Medical Clinic. The nurse was reluctant to give them to me' says Helena. Jenna now sits down on a wooden chair and continues to smoke, just giving the detective a look then blowing out and looks forward. 'I need you to be honest with me, Jenna, and together we can get your brother free and catch The Collector' says Helena.
'Together? You cops are all the same, it's just about the job for you. Just get my brother free and forget The Collector' says Jenna. 'That's not true, I do care about you and your brother, George, and I just want justice served, meaning the innocent stays safe and the guilty put behind bars. I am risking my career here' says Helena as she goes closer to Jenna and leans slightly towards her, trying to gesture how genuine she is. Jenna takes a second to look Helena up and down, blows out smoke again then says; 'You got in trouble for working on this case?'. 'Well, yeah, actually I was never even on the case, just observing, and now I am on temporary suspension because the police chief found out I am not letting up in regards to this case' says Helena. Jenna chuckles a bit and smiles mischievously at Helena, 'Oh, so you kinda like a rebel right now' she says.
'Yeah, I guess so' says Helena. 'Okay, I'll tell you everything, just take a smoke with me first' says Jenna. Helena now looks confused, Jenna smiles and points to the table drawer, 'Take one for yourself and give me a new one then we smoke' she says. 'But I don't smoke' says a nervous Helena. 'I didn't either until a few days ago' laughs Jenna, 'come on, just one' she says. 'Okay, okay, just one then, but you have to tell me everything, alright?' says Helena. She takes 2 cigarettes out of the pack and hands one to Jenna, then Jenna lights Helena's cigarette and she coughs almost immediately, but as the 2 are talking by the table with Helena standing and Jenna sitting, their backs are towards the backdoor area, and by one of the windows, a dark figure is standing there, just watching them. Helena suddenly feels a chill in the back of her neck and looks back at the backdoor area, but there is no one.
Back at the prison, George is sitting at a table with D, Marcus and Keith in a cell and playing cards. This is an obvious perk provided by D, who is the boss, allowing them to bend the rules. Keith plays his hand, 'Take that bitches!' he says. The guys are also smoking while playing, Marcus hands a lit cigarette he's just smoked to George, who just lifts his hand and shakes his head. 'Alright, so you don't smoke? Cool' says Marcus. D is looking each of them in the eyes now, while they all await his turn, then he plays his hand, putting down the hand of cards and spreading them so everyone can see, all while still looking his opponents in the eyes. 'Shit, this nigga wins every damn time' says Keith. Everyone puts down their cards and D gets up from the table. 'What we gonna do about that other thang, D?' asks Keith.
'It's being handled' answers D as he takes some of the cash on the table. George looks up, clears his throat nervously and says: 'Is that about the people who tried to kill Lucas and Claire?'. The guys around the table look at George and D also looks up now at George, 'Yeah, they our rivals, trying to outsell us but since they can't, they trying now to get rid of our people' says D. The guys look at D, 'It's cool y'all, we're all friends here. I think G here should know the things we do' says D. George looks down at the table, then up again at D, 'Thanks' he says softly. George and D are then in their cell, and as George is taking off his shoes, D goes and stands in front of him. 'So, there's something you might find interesting' says D. 'Really, what?' asks George.
'You said you had a dream and there was someone calling for a Danny, right?' says D. 'Uh, yeah' says George. 'So, the guys messing with me and my product actually make their shit in a lab. One of my guys was snooping around there and found a name tag reading "Danny Locus"' says D. 'Danny Locus?' says George. 'Yeah' says D, who now walks to the basin and opens the tap. 'Well, what else did you find?' asks George, as he slipped off his shoes and now stands up. 'That's it, dawg' says D as he looks forward into the mirror in front of him. 'I guess I gotta tell Detective Meyer' says George. D then turns around, 'And tell her what, that I had my people sneaking around my enemies place that sell drugs too?' he says. 'Of course not, I'll think of something to tell her' says George.
D looks down then nods, and then he stands with his back against the basin. 'You gonna get to sleep now or...?' asks George. There is a pause first before D answers, 'Nah, I don't do the sleeping at night thing' he says. 'Nightmares?' asks George as he now sits down. D looks up at him, 'Yeah, how'd you know?' he says. 'I have them too, and I never really seen you sleeping since I got here' says George. 'You had them for about a year, right?' asks D, George nods, 'I have had them for as long as I can remember' D continues. 'So, you just accept it and don't sleep, and never seeked help?' George asks. 'There is no help for someone like me' D answers back immediately. 'I think you're a good dude' says George, causing D to chuckle. 'You don't know me well then. I'm a killer, unlike you, I deserve to be in here after all I've done' he says.
'Then why have you been so nice to me' asks George. D turns his head to his right, looking down slightly, sighs then looks back at George, 'Cause any friend of L is a friend of mine, we go way back' he says. 'Funny, I've known him since freshman year in high school and he has never mentioned you once' says George. D smiles, 'Maybe cause you don't know your friend like you thought you did. Of course he'd want to keep you outta his hustling life' he says. 'I guess you're right' says George as he takes a huge breath. D steps forward a few steps with his hands behind his back, looking forward to the cell bars. At night later, when George closes his eyes, he sees a driveway, as though he is walking on it. He walks towards a door and knocks, seeing all this in first person, then he wakes up and it's still night time. He decides to stay up.
The next morning, while George is sitting with D and the others at the table, a guard comes yet again and calls for George, so he gets up and goes with him. In the visiting area, he sees Helena. They both sit down and take the phone, 'Hey George, how are you feeling?' she asks. 'I am fine' says George. 'I saw your sister last night, she's nice' says Helena. 'I know, she told me' says George. 'Is she seeing anyone?' George asks out of nowhere. 'I am not sure, maybe you should ask her yourself' says Helena, 'Anyway, I actually have some good news for you. That's why I came' she continues. 'Really?' asks George. 'Yes, some people are coming from a psychiatric facility to get you later today and you will be transported there. After a few tests, you will be able to return home' says Helena excitedly. 'Serious? I... I don't believe it' says George.
Helena smiles, but sees George still looking unsure, 'Don't worry, they won't drill you too much. It's just a couple of tests' she says. 'Okay' says George, still looking uncertain. It's now later in the day and a guard is walking out of the prison with a handcuffed George next to him. At either side of them are fences containing the prison yard, with some prisoners leaning on the fence facing George. 'You stay away from the hoes now, Collector' says one, George continues walking by with the guard. 'He the craziest killer in here, the hell does he get out? He make our crimes look like child's play' says another. George just walks by, trying to shake off what the men are saying, then he looks to his right and sees D and his crew standing inside the prison yard, against a pole structure and arms crossed, looking right at George. They look at each other with a show of admiration, then George looks forward again as the other prisoners are now restless, 'Collector! Yo, Collector!' they shout, 'Can't wait to see more of your "work" on the news now, boy. Hehe' says another with a deep and sickening laugh.
As George and the guard reach the outside, there is a white van standing and waiting with 2 doctors standing outside of it. 'Well, off to the loony bin with you' says the guard as he uncuffs George. 'Thanks, Josh. Please take care of yourself' George says to the guard. The guard nods and looks almost sad that George is leaving, then walks back to the entrance of the prison. 'Please, get inside Mr. Rogers' says one doctor as he gestures towards the door of the van. As George steps forward, still touching his wrists, a revving sound is heard, and from the distance, a fast, red car drives their way. Just as soon as everyone has seen the car is the same time the car pulls up in front of them. A red Ferrari, and one door goes open. 'No way my boy is getting out and driving in that piece of dump' says Lucas as he's sitting in his Ferrari revving. George smiles and walks towards the Ferrari and leans over.
'What you doing, man? I gotta go with them' he says. 'Yeah? Well you gotta go to their facility, don't mean you have to drive with them to get there' says Lucas. George smiles and gets in the car, 'You even know where it is?' he asks. 'Not really, but I bet we'll find out as soon as those doctors catch up' says Lucas as he accelerates and pulls away fast, leaving dust to go towards the doctors who cough. 'Don't look at me, let's just go' the one says to the other. The Ferrari arrives at a building outside of town, surrounded by nothing but sand and hills, with high fences. Lucas and George get out of the car and look on, 'I guess this is it' says Lucas.
The doctors arrive in their white van after a while, George and Lucas stand against the Ferrari, waiting. 'Please, this way Mr. Rogers' says one doctor and George follows him. Lucas walks right behind, George then turns around, 'Where's Claire?' he asks. 'She had some stuff to do, but she'll be waiting for you after this, bro' Lucas answers. As the 2 big doors of the building opens and George walks through it, suddenly everything looks strange but familiar at the same time. George holds his head in one hand and faces down. 'You okay, man?' asks Lucas. 'My... head' says George.
Part 8
George is put on a bed in a room, Lucas wants to enter but the doctors block him, telling him he has to wait. About 5 doctors are around George as he lies on the bed holding his head, he keeps seeing images but not sure what he's really seeing because the images are too bright. 'What's... happening... to me? Aah!' says George. The doctors hold George and shine in his ears with small torch devices. The main doctor looks at the others and nods, then one female doctor exits the room. As soon as she exits, Lucas grabs her, 'What's going on with him? Will he be okay?' he asks. 'He will be fine, I must go' she answers as she gently takes his grip off of her. 'But... doctor!' shouts Lucas. Another female doctor exits the room and Lucas approaches her, 'What's going on in there?' he asks. 'All I can tell you is be calm, hun, he will be fine. We have seen something like this before' she answers. 'The hell?' says Lucas confused, but the doctor walks off. 'Doctor Clad will explain it himself, okay? Please just wait' she adds as she leaves.
Lucas holds his head then turns and looks at the door of the room. In the room, there are 4 doctors around George, 'Please, Mr. Rogers, try to focus and tell us what you see' says the main doctor. 'I... don't... know, aah!' says George still holding his head and giving slight kicks. The main doctor puts a metal, headphone-like device on George's head, he attaches it's wires to a table nearby. 'Focus, Mr. Rogers' says the doctor. The bright images get even brighter in George's head and he gives a loud shout, 'Aaaahhh' and then everything goes black. George opens his eyes then looks around and he is no longer in the room he was in. He is lying on a sand road, he then stands up and looks around. The road is lightly blue, he is surrounded by what looks like a dessert. The hills in the background are blurry, only a few plants around but mostly an ambage of blue as though it's a lighting from a set.
Wind starts blowing, 'Hello?' says George. 'Where am I?' he says. He starts to hear feint screams from afar, then laughter. 'Who's there?' says George. The screams now start to sound closer and closer, suddenly a massive gush of wind blows his way and he blocks with his arms in front of his face. The wind sounds as if it is screaming in horror, 'Aaaaaahhhhhhahahaha!' goes the howling wind. When the wind passes, George lowers his arms and hears laughter just behind him. It sounds like an animal, hyena or coyote at first but then mixes with a human's laughter and eventually it sounds way too weird and definitely like something dark and evil. George turns around slowly and sees a dark figure facing him just 30 feet (9 meters) from him. 'Who are you? Whe... where am I? Are you the Collector?' asks a frightened but barely keeping composure George.
The figure then continues laughing maniacally then lifts its arms up beside it, as though summoning something, the wind blows but is drawn to the figure and the screaming can be heard again. As George looks closer as the wind, it looks like faces in pure fear, being sucked towards the dark figure, like souls being sucked in. The 'souls' are sucked into the figure and the figure laughs even louder and then it explodes and George covers his face with his arms, the impact knocking him back. He then wakes up back on the bed the doctors placed him on and he sits up. 'Wha... wha... Ho...' he tries saying as he is breathing heavy. There is a male doctor right beside him and he puts his hand on George's shoulder. 'It's okay Mr. Rog... George' he says. 'What did you do to me?' asks George.
'I did nothing, but I think I know what's happening' says the doctor. 'So I am doctor Clad, I specialize in a very special kind of psychiatry' he continues. George catches his breath and becomes a bit calmer now, sitting up and facing the doctor who sits beside him. 'What's happening to me?' asks George. 'Is that thing inside of me? Does it take over me and do all those... murders?' he continues. The doctor looks at him with concern, 'George, no, you are not The Collector, but his spirit is a part of yours' he says. 'What do you mean?' asks George. 'I need you to tell me exactly what you saw' says the doctor. 'It was so... blurry' says George. 'Please try, take your time' says Doctor Clad. George tries his best to go through all the details of what he's seen.
'Okay, thank you, George' says Doctor Clad. 'You don't think that's weird what I saw, Doctor?' asks George. 'No, I've seen it before' says Doctor Clad after a brief pause. He walks to his desk as George sits on the bed with his feet now on the ground. 'You see, my field is seen as the "Wacko squad" because my colleagues and I believe in evil spirits possessing people and demonic figures taking over people's physical bodies' Doctor Clad explains. 'So, am I possessed or this Collector?' asks George. 'About 6 months ago, there was a patient who came in and had the exact same symptoms and visions that you have; except in his vision, he was the dark figure sucking in those souls' says Doctor Clad. 'Who is he?' asks George. Doctor Clad grabs a file from the drawer, 'Danny Locus' he says. George looks down at the floor, 'Danny Locus? Oh no, Jenna!' he says and gets up.
'Where are you going? We still need to evaluate you some more' says the doctor. 'I have to leave, I know who his next victim will be!' says George as he walks towards the door. As he exits, he sees Lucas sitting and talking to a nurse, both laughing. George walks by fast and Lucas sees him and gets up, 'I'll call you' he says to the nurse. 'I didn't even give you my number' says the nurse. 'Uhm, yeah sure... George, wait up!' says Lucas who walks faster and catches up to George. 'You gonna drive my Ferrari or something?' says Lucas. 'I know who he is targeting next' says George. 'What? Who? What did they say?' asks Lucas as both exit the main doors. 'Hold on, man' says Lucas. 'Ah!' screams George as he holds his head, then he sees a sharp tool in his hand, a butcher knife, and he is walking towards a woman, her back towards him. 'Hey, did you get it?' says the woman in a faraway, feint sound.
'George!' shouts Lucas. 'Jenna!' shouts George. 'He's after Jenna! We have to go!' he says. The 2 run towards the Ferrari and get in. 'Buckle up!' says Lucas and accelerates, leaving dust behind them. As Lucas is driving, George is holding his head. 'Call her, man!' says Lucas. George takes out his phone but his head is spinning, 'I... can't...' he says. 'Alright' says Lucas as he takes the phone and calls. The phone rings and rings, 'Shit! She's not picking up!' says Lucas. They are off the sand road now and entering the city, as the prison is at the very end of the city, and now they have to drive through the city and to the small town Blueberry, where George's sister lives that is a few miles from the city. 'Hold on!' says Lucas as he makes a left turn, then a right, passing a vehicle driving in front of him.
George holds on while fighting his headache and some flashing images in his mind that looks bright, his face filled with anxiety. Lucas, on the other hand, looks calm and only shows concern on his face when he looks at his friend. They enter a highway and there's a lot of vehicles, 'Oh no' says George. 'I know a shortcut' says Lucas as he drives and swerves through the traffic, driving off the road onto a smaller road. Then he steps hard on the gas and breaks every single speed limit there is. A traffic cop sees the Ferrari flying by and gets on his motorbike immediately in pursuit, turning on his siren. Lucas and George barely hear the siren as they are almost a mile past the traffic cop. They see the sign, 'Welcome to Blueberry' and slow down a bit. George looks at Lucas, 'I hope she...' he tries to say but another headache strikes and this time he sees blood and hears screaming as though it's in front of him.
'It's happening!' he shouts. Just a few minutes and they arrive in front of Jenna's house, both get out and run to the house knocking on the door. 'Stand back!' says Lucas, George gives way and Lucas kicks the door down. 'Jenna!' they both shout and enter the house. They find no one in the house, then go to the backdoor and open it, finding Jenna standing there and smoking. 'Guys? George, Lucas? The hell?' she says confused. The boys look at each other, 'I saw you... he was here!' says George. 'What is he talking about? Are you okay?' says Jenna. Lucas tries to explain, 'Uhm, he had a vision thing' he says. Then they all hear a loud scream, sounding like it's coming from across the street. The 3 rush into the house, Jenna throwing down her cigarette, then they go through the front door.
They look across the street, nothing, but then look 2 houses to their right across the street and see movement. A woman comes through the front door and collapses, the 3 run towards her across the street. They get there and it is an elderly Latina lady who is lying on the porch shaking, as they try to lift her, they see complete shock and horror on her face. 'What happened?' the 3 ask her. The lady breathes heavily, unable to speak, Jenna tries consoling her. The woman points to the inside of the house, then Lucas and George walk inside, very slowly and cautiously. As they enter, they're in a living room, sofas all around with a television at the far right corner, standing on a closet set. Some things seems knocked over, picture frames are lying on the floor. George picks up one picture and sees 2 women, both look like they're in their twenties, and the one looks very familiar.
The reddish, brown hair, light complexion, brown eyes, and it is clear to George that this is the woman he just saw in his vision. 'This is her, I saw her' he says. Lucas is focused on the opened glass door and gestures George to lower his voice. Lucas walks in front and George follows, just then, they see a hand on the ground and as they look further, they see a person's arm, without a body. Both are startled, looking at each other. The arm is lying on the ground, filled with blood, looking like it was cut off from just below the shoulder. Then they look further and there's a wooden tool desk with a metal top and there's blood coming from it. As they walk toward it, they see legs sticking out and behind it, the girl lies there dead and bloody, with stab wounds and cut wounds all around her as well as a huge dash in her head, even part of her brain is visible.
George vomits just there, then Jenna enters and screams, 'Gina!' Lucas looks at Jenna, 'You knew her?' he asks. 'She was my friend!' she says and starts sobbing. Lucas hugs her and holds her as she cries against his chest. 'We need to find this prick' says Lucas. George wipes the vomit off his mouth as he finishes, 'He's gone, I can't feel him anymore' he says. They then hear sirens and look at each other. 'We gotta go, now!' says Lucas. George looks at him, then at Jenna, who can't stop crying. Lucas gently pushes Jenna off his chest, still holding onto her shoulders. He walks back to the inside of the house, followed by George, who just gives his sister a look of concern. As they walk through the house, and go out of the front door, several police cars arrive on the sidewalk and policemen climb out of their vehicles as Lucas and George look at each other and then at the policemen. 'Freeze! Down on the ground!' says the policemen as they point their guns at the boys, while the 2 raise their hands up.
Part 9
The boys are sitting in an interrogation room, both handcuffed. They are seated next to each other, with their hands behind their backs, George looking down and Lucas looking at the mirror which is the room window. Then 2 detectives enter, 'Sorry to keep you waiting, gentlemen' says the one. 'Ah, no worries, the police aren't exactly known for speed and efficiency' says Lucas with a smirk. George just turns his head right and looks at him. 'Okay, so you 2 were apprehended at the scene of the murder, now while there is no evidence that suggests you were responsible, it is still very suspicious that you both were there just minutes after the girl was killed' says the detective Fisher. 'Yeah, we are here being interrogated while the real killer is getting away, nice job' says Lucas, causing the other detective, Prince, to get irritated, clearly showing on his face.
'Mr. Rogers, you were just released from prison today and was supposed to be in the Arizona State Institution, but here you are' says detective Fisher. George looks at him, 'I saw him... he was about to... I was too late' says George as he faces back downwards. 'Who is he? Who did you see?' asks detective Prince. 'You should let him go' says Lucas as he looks back and forth at both detectives, 'he is your best chance in finding the bastard' he says. The 2 detectives then stand with their hands on their hips and look at each other. Lucas looks at George, who clearly feels terrible that he couldn't stop the murder in time, while the 2 detectives stand at a distance and start discussing something between themselves. 'You know, you don't have to feel bad. We almost had him, and next time, he won't get away' Lucas says to George and George looks at him.
As the detectives are talking to one another, 'We should call Helena' says detective Fisher. 'Detective Meyer? Okay, you on first name basis now?' asks detective Prince. 'Shut up' says Detective Fisher as he pulls out his phone and makes a call, holding it to his ear. 'I think you should ask her out' says Detective Prince with a smile. 'Really, Oscar? Now?' says Detective Fisher as he points to his phone and then it is answered finally. 'Helena, hello. I have to talk to you' says Detective Fisher. As he calls, Helena is now pulling up to the scene of the crime, holding her phone at her ear and driving slowly to a sidewalk and stopping in front of the house just next to the house of the murder. 'What's up, Jason?' she says. 'Well, we have George Rogers and Lucas Clarkson here at the station. Where are you?' says Fisher. 'Listen to me, take them to my house, I will be there soon' says Helena. 'But, why? And where are you? I...' Fisher tries to ask but Helena hangs up quickly, 'Thanks Jason, I owe you' she says before putting off her phone.
She gets out of her vehicle and closes the door. Then walks towards the yellow tape where a forensic officer is standing in front of. She approaches and shows her badge, the person lifts the yellow tape and Helena passes through just bending her head slightly. As she enters the house, there are many people inside, some wearing masks and gloves and about 3 people in suits, standing and talking to each other. Helena approaches, 'What exactly happened here?' she asks. 'Detective Meyer? Weren't you suspended?' asks one elderly looking detective. 'I was in the neighborhood' says Helena. 'Okay, take a look over here' says the elderly detective as he gestures Helena to follow him. They walk to the outside of the back entrance where the body lies, Helena following. 'The killer used a huge butcher knife to stab the victim, he cut off her arm after stabbing and cutting her' says the detective.
Helena sees the huge amounts of blood and gets light-headed, holding her right palm to her forehead. 'I know, it's gruesome' says the detective, 'we think he hit her with a huge metal object in her head, causing the dash there' he continues as he points at the wounds on the body. 'But isn't that unusual for the killer?' asks Helena. 'What do you mean?' asks the detective. 'The other victims head wounds are all caused by sharp objects and looks like they were stabbed lying down. This wound looks like it was inflicted while the victim was standing, like he was knocking her down' says Helena. The detective looks closer, then nods and looks back at Helena, 'The theory of the victims being drugged before they were killed hasn't been supported by any evidence' he says. 'No drugs were ever found in the victims systems, that's correct but clearly they have been paralysed somehow by the killer' says Helena.
The detective puts his hands on his hips and is looking down again, 'Oh, so which part of the body wasn't found?' Helena asks. 'Everything except the victims shoulder' says the detective. 'That is also very unusual, the killer usually takes something small. A hair strand, fingernail, tooth or something that you don't notice. Why take the time and effort to cut off the victims arm and take her entire shoulder?' says Helena. Both detectives take a look at the body some more. Meanwhile, Detective Jason Fisher is driving a black and white police truck in a road, stopping in front of Helena's house. In the backseat sits George on the right and Lucas on the left, facing where Helena's house is. 'Well, she said she'd meet you guys here' says Fisher. 'You are crushing on her hard, man' says Lucas, causing George to look at him and Fisher turning his head back facing Lucas.
'You don't know what you're talking about, kid' answers Fisher. 'Sure I do' says Lucas, 'You're doing all the things you know you shouldn't, just for the hopes she'll like you the same' he continues as he puts his hand on Fisher's shoulder. Fisher looks at his hand, then at Lucas, who takes his hand off and lifts his hands up in an apologetic gesture, 'Look man, all I'm saying is, you're going about this the wrong way' he says. Fisher looks forward again, hiding the look of confusion on his face, 'What do you mean? What am I doing wrong?' he asks. Lucas looks at George and smiles with a 'yeah, we got him' look. 'You see, Detective, when she asks you something you know you shouldn't do, ask her if she'd do the same for you' he says. 'Really? But what if she doesn't wanna talk to me after that?' asks Fisher, who now turns his head slightly again in Lucas' direction.
'Then you tell her she either can let you take her out for dinner in exchange for the favor or ask someone else. Trust me, she'll want you for sure then. Women love when a man takes charge, running after them like a puppy never works. That's a sure fire way to the friendzone. Just ask George here' says Lucas, and after pointing at George with his thumb, he looks at George who gives him a stern look. 'Sorry bro' says Lucas. 'Well, say you're right, how do I even ask her out with everything that's going on? She surely has a lot going on right now' says Fisher. 'Bro, being considerate is what women admire' says Lucas as he puts his hand on Fisher's shoulder again, this time there is no resistance, 'but if you offer yourself as the solution to her problems, she'll like that even more' says Lucas.
As Lucas touches the door handle to get out, a phone rings, it's Fisher's. He picks it up, 'Yes, sir. Oh, Detective Meyer? I think she's at home sir. No no, she wasn't at the crime scene' says Fisher on the phone, speaking to the police chief. Lucas and George look at each other, 'Rogers and Clarkson?' says Fisher on the phone, which gets their attention. 'Uhm, no sir. They're... at the station, sir. I left them there with detective Prince, yes sir' says a nervous Fisher, who then hangs up. 'You 2 get out of here, I have to go back' says Fisher. Lucas climbs out then George gets out right behind him and closes the door behind him. 'We'll tell her how cool you were' Lucas says to Fisher, who looks through his open car window. 'No need, I... well, thanks' says Fisher. He then starts his vehicle. 'Don't mention it' says Lucas as he winks.
The detective drives forward slowly, then looks behind him and reverses. George turns to look at Helena's house, which they are standing across the street from and starts taking a step towards it. Lucas turns around as well, 'Your first time here, nice ain't it?' he says. George looks at Lucas, nods then walks forward crossing the street, Lucas walking beside him. A vehicle then pulls up, from their right side, opposite from where they came from when Fisher drove them. Helena gets out of the vehicle, standing about 10 feet from the boys. 'Hey there' she says. 'Detective' says a smiling Lucas while George smiles slightly, but as he looks at the passenger side, he sees a familiar face. 'Look who it is' says Lucas, who also now notices. The person climbs out of the passenger side, with long, beautiful black hair, dark blue eyes, soft skin, light complexion. 'George!' she says, 'Claire!' says George, who are both smiling wide now.
They walk slowly toward each other, Lucas looking at George with a smile and Helena looking at Claire. The 2 then walk quickly towards each other and hug, holding each other and embracing each other. 'I'm so glad you're out of there' says Claire as her head is on George's shoulder. George looks over Claire's shoulder at Helena who looks at him with satisfaction on her face. Claire looks over at Lucas as soon as she opens her eyes and he gives her a slightly naughty wink. 'Let's go inside everyone' says Helena. As they are all inside the house, Helena hands Claire a glass of water. They are standing in the living room, there are 2 sofas across from each other with a small table in the middle, a television right next to the window that is next to the front door. The kitchen is just behind the last sofa, a counter stands there with the kitchen table behind it and then the fridge. Helena stands against the counter with Claire next to her with the boys standing behind the sofa.
'Let's sit dow...' Helena says but she sees Lucas already sitting on the sofa backwards with his arms resting on the head of the sofa. 'Okay, since we're all comfortable, let's get to it' says Helena, giving Lucas a 'you rascal, but whatever' look. George and Claire go to sit down, George next to Lucas on his right and Claire sitting next to Helena, just across George. 'Okay George, tell us what you saw earlier before that girl was killed' says Helena. They all look at George, 'Well, I saw him, well, me, walking with a huge knife toward a girl. Uhm, from the back, she looked like my sister' says George. 'Did you see, yourself stabbing her with the knife?' asks Helena. 'No, everything was too bright' answers George. 'I uhm, if I could have seen... something, seen clearer, she would have been alive, not... uh...' George continues as his eyes starts getting teary. Claire reaches over and puts her hand on his, 'It's okay, look at me. It's okay, yeah?' she says.
Lucas puts his hand on George's shoulder, then Helena continues, 'Just try to focus and we will find that murderer and stop him' she says. George looks up and nods, 'The next thing I saw was blood' he says. Lucas then sits forward, 'Why don't you tell us what you saw when we were at that psycho building place' he says. 'Yeah, what did you see?' asks Claire. After George explains, Claire is now shivering and Lucas looks wide-eyed while Helena stands up. She gets some of her files and comes back and places them on the table in front of them. The files are all the images and documents of the murders of The Collector. George, tell me how many of these people you've seen in your dreams and visions' says Helena. 'George looks around, trying hard not to get sick from the gruesome and graphic pictures. 'All of them' he says. 'Alright, I think we need to try and find something these victims have in common, yeah?' says Claire. 'Well, they all live in Blueberry and Flamebird' says Lucas.
'No kidding, says Claire. That narrows it down' she says sarcastically, Lucas shrugs. 'Do you have any connection to any of them, George?' asks Helena. George looks around at the pictures, Claire looks as well and picks up one picture file. 'Lillith Mandam! She's your ex's sister' she says. 'Okay George, did you know anything about Lillith and anything you can tell us about her?' asks Helena. 'I am not sure, I don't remember much' says George. 'Come on, guys. Alise broke George's heart, there's no fun memories there' says Lucas. 'Yes, she cheated on me' says George as he looks down with heavy emotion. 'What did her sister do wrong then?' asks Helena. 'Maybe the killer punishes family members for others mistakes?' says Claire. 'Nah, Lillith was worse than Alise. I don't mean to speak ill of the dead but she cheated more than once on her boyfriends. I bet she convinced Alise to do the same' says Lucas. 'I got it' says George as he stands up slowly.
Part 10
'He thinks of himself as some kind of entity, so he acts as a punisher' says George. 'So this is kind of a Jack The Ripper copycat? Some chick cheated on him when he was younger and now he's just killing all the hoes brutally?' says Lucas. 'There are some male victims as well' says Helena, who then takes a few files, picking them up and showing the others. 'Louie Santan, Hank Naton, Max Tejkt. There's quite a number of them, there are 68 victims now and 21 are men' she continues. 'Well, what do they have in common then?' asks Claire. George turns to where the television is and walks slowly to the window, 'They have all done something wrong in The Collector's eyes' he says. 'What about Gina, Jenna's friend?' asks Lucas. 'She used to be married, but there's nothing that shows she cheated or anything' says Helena.
'That one was personal' says George, who is still facing the window. 'They knew each other, I saw it' he says and then he turns around and faces the others. 'Personal?' asks Helena. 'Yeah, see, The Collector, he doesn't copy any other killer. I can feel him in my dreams and visions, he is pure evil. He is not even human, barely... I've never felt anything so terrifying in my life. He won't just stop and disappear, he wants to continue to "collect", and if we don't stop him now, he might never be stopped' says George. 'How do we catch him?' asks Claire. 'I saw him watching you, Detective' says George. 'Me? So, I am next?' says Helena as she starts to shiver. 'Danny Locus is his name' says George. 'Let's go get the bastard then' says Lucas. 'We should follow protocal, I can't let civilians get involved with police business. I'm sorry' says Helena. 'Come on, Helena, you're not even supposed to be on this case but here you are, and we've been a great help so far haven't we?' says Lucas.
'It will still be my responsibility if anything happens to you' says Helena. 'Flattering, but you should save the care for your boyfriend' says Lucas with a mischievous smile. 'Boyfriend?' asks Helena. Some time later and they are now driving in Helena's vehicle, George passenger side with Lucas and Claire at the back. 'So, who's my boyfriend, mister?' asks Helena. 'Detective Fisher, who else' answers Lucas. 'He's just my colleague' says Helena, who blushes slightly. Lucas chuckles, 'Why are you laughing? Did he say anything?' asks Helena. 'It's just the way you look at each other, my charm always works on any girl but your heart clearly belongs to him' says Lucas. Claire hits Lucas in his rib, 'Shut it, you! Only you will find time to talk such nonsense on our way to catch a serial killer' says Claire. 'Is this the place?' asks Helena as they arrive at a building with a fence in front of it, green covering on the fence. The building looks like a kind of warehouse, brown bricks and small windows all around but high up.
'Yeah, they make some "products" here' says Lucas as he looks at the building, scanning it. 'I don't know how you know that and I rather won't care' says Helena as she takes out her gun from her bag and opens her door, 'You all stay here' she says then steps outside of the vehicle. 'Forget that' says Lucas, who climbs out as well, standing behind Helena now, she turns to him, 'I am the only one with a gun here' she says. 'Yeah, and that's gonna guarantee your safety. Let's go, Detective' says Lucas as he closes her door also and walks past her toward the fence. 'You 2 lovebirds keep a lookout for us, okay?' he says to George and Claire who are seated in the vehicle. 'Please be careful, yeah?' says Claire as she looks at Lucas. He smiles and nods then looks at Helena, 'You coming, Detective? I might have a way in' he says. Lucas walks a few feet to his right then sees a double gate. Helena walks towards him and then he pushes the gate, which doesn't open.
There is a chain tied to the gate handles. Lucas reaches in his pocket, and takes out a pin. 'What's that?' asks Helena. Lucas looks at her and smiles, then picks the lock. Just a few seconds go by and the lock is opened, chain falling to the ground. Lucas looks back at Helena and smirks, 'Cute, you learn that in juvie?' she says, while thinking to herself how handsome this young man is, with blue eyes, blondish light brown hair and a gorgeous smile, but she will never give him the satisfaction by admitting it. They walk to the building, searching for a way in. 'Over there' says Helena, pointing to a 2-door that is closed and looks the same color as the walls. 'You kidding? We can't just barge in the front door like that' says Lucas as he walks towards the back of the building with Helena reluctantly following.
In the vehicle, George is looking through the window at where Lucas and Helena walked towards, looking if he can still see them. Claire looks through the window on her side as well, then turns and looks at George. 'Penny for your thoughts?' she says. George hears her speaking and looks her way, 'Huh?' he says. 'What are you thinking about? Penny for your thoughts. Americans use that expression, don't they?' says Claire. 'Yeah, sure Claire' says George. He looks through the window again, then turns his head to her and tries to say something else but his words won't come out. Claire notices, then looks out of the window again while George looks away. 'Do you think he's here? Can you see, or feel him? The uh... Collector?' asks Claire while still looking out of the window. 'I can't feel him, no' says George. He then looks Claire's way again to see if she is looking at him.
'Not much of a talker, are you?' says Claire, teasing George and turning to look at him. 'I... I'm sorry, well... I usually get headaches and images flashing in my head when I feel him' says George. 'And usually only when he's killing or about to kill someone, right?' says Claire. 'Right' says George, turning to look out of the window. 'I think it's amazing' says Claire, George then turns to look at Claire, 'Really?' he says. 'Yeah, you have some connection to this serial killer, and because of you, they'll catch him' says Claire. George smiles slightly, 'Thanks, but I'm nothing special, just a regular guy' he says, a brief pause and then he continues, 'Unlike yo...' 'You're not to me, not regular at all' says Claire before George could continue. 'Oh sorry, what were you about to say?' she asks.
George looks out of the window again, then he scratches his head. 'I just wanted to say, unlike you. You know? You're not regular like me, you're special' he says. 'I am?' says Claire as she smiles wide. 'Yes, of course. I mean...' he says as he turns to face her. 'You mean...?' says Claire, waiting in anticipation for what George is going to say. 'You are... You're... beautiful' says a nervous George. Claire's eyes now wide with excitement, 'Thank you, George. You are a beautiful guy yourself' she says. 'Really?' says George with his hand on his head. Claire leans forward toward him, 'I knew when I saw you the first time that you are an amazing person, not just a cute face' she says, causing herself even to blush. They both look at each other blushing, then George remembers something.
'That first day we met at college, I saw a book of yours' says George. 'Oh, you mean when you knocked all my books out of my hands?' says Claire with a stern but irresistable look. 'I... I...' George stutters. 'I'm kidding, hun. I remember' says Claire as she smiles. 'Oh, right. Well there was a book about escaping a serial killer?' says George. '"How To Escape A Serial Killer", yeah it is a good read' says Claire. 'Tell me about it' says George. 'Well, it's not exactly an instructions manual. It has some points and scenarios and so forth' says Claire, she continues speaking but that's when George notices a black car arrive behind them about 40 feet away. George points to it and Claire turns around to look as well.
She looks closer and recognizes the vehicle, 'That is the same car that chased Lucas and I the other day!' she says. 'We have to warn them' says George. Claire takes out her phone, but then 3 men climb out of the car. They are tall and muscular, with 2 of them bald and wearing what looks like utility vests, 2 of them have small machine guns in their hands and the other a pistol. As the men walk towards the gate, 1 notices the vehicle George and Claire are in and stops, looking their way. 'Get down!' says George. Both lean down on their seats, ducking and keeping their heads down. The 2 men with the machine guns walk to the building while the other walks toward George and Claire. Claire looks at her phone and types 'COMPANY, WATCH OUT' to Lucas. 'What do we do now?' says Claire quietly. George reaches out and takes her hand.
'Let me take a look, stay right there' he says. He then lifts his head slowly and sees the man still approaching, much closer now. 'Where is he?' asks Claire. George lowers his head again then let's go of Claire's hand. 'What is it?' she asks. 'He's gonna see us, I have to think of something' says George as he looks around in the vehicle. 'George, he has a gun!' says Claire, still in a low voice. George then sees the keys are still in the ignition and gets an idea, 'Hold on' he says to Claire. He turns the keys, starting the vehicle and this alarms the oncoming gunman, who is now just 15 feet away and he raises his gun, pointing it to the vehicle. George then sits up and steps on the gas pedal, and the gunman now shoots at them. Lucas and Helena, who are inside the building, hear the gunshot.
The building only has 4 sections, the main section an open room, looking like that of an aeroplane hangar, with some box cases and tables standing around. Clearly no one is there, but that's when Lucas and Helena bend behind a nearby box. Meanwhile, another shot is fired at George and Claire, the rear windshield breaks but the vehicle now starts to move forward. George drives forward, going past the building, with the gunman now shooting repeatly at them. 'George!' shouts Claire as she covers her face from the broken glass falling everywhere. George is breathing heavy and starting to panic but he manages to create a good distance between them and the shooter. George makes a right turn and passes the back of the building, 'Are you okay? Were you hit?' asks a frantic Claire.
'I'm okay, I'm okay' says George as he still looks towards the building. He looks forward and tries his best to drive, Claire looks back and can see the gunmen's car and the one gets in the car and starts it. 'He's coming after us, George!' says Claire. George steps on it and they start going faster. Meanwhile in the building, Helena holds up her gun and looks around nervously as she's ducking behind the huge box. 'If I just had my gun, I could help you' says Lucas. 'Just stay down' says Helena. 'You don't have a spare do you?' asks Lucas. 'No. Well I should've called for back up or just notified the force before coming here with you guys' says Helena. 'I will just call right now' she says then feels in her pockets. 'I think we can take these guys' says Lucas. 'Shoot!' says Helena. 'What?' asks Lucas. 'I forgot my phone in my truck!' says Helena.
Just then, 2 gunmen enter and look around, holding their guns in front of them. Helena notices them and gestures Lucas to stay put. Lucas reaches for an iron pipe that lies behind the box then holds it in front of him. Both are now trying to stay as ready as possible. The gunmen walk seperate ways, splitting up. One is now slowly approaching the box Helena is crouching behind. He points his gun, then sees his partner from afar, looking the other way. As the man is now nearing walking past the box and will see Helena, Lucas has to act fast. He is just 5 feet from Helena but will not be seen like Helena will. The man slowly moves closer to the box, then Lucas moves in front of the box he was behind and then in front of Helena's box and as soon as the man looks Helena's way, Lucas hits him hard with the iron pipe.
Part 11
'Ah!' shouts the gunman, who is knocked back towards more boxes stacked on top of each other. Lucas goes in for another hit with the iron pipe as Helena looks on, concern on her face, but the gunman drops his gun and blocks the hit, grabbing onto the iron pipe. The other gunman is now alarmed and turns around to see the scuffle. Then the second gunman comes closer but before he can shoot, Helena fires a shot at him, because he is a good distance away, her bullet hits a wall area. The second gunman hides behind a box and fires a shot, forcing Helena to duck down and get behind the box then shoot back. Lucas pulls on the pipe to gain the upper hand but the gunman is pulling just as hard. The 2 men go back and forth, both turning to the side as they struggle. The gunman pushes back hard, causing Lucas to go back first against the stacked up boxes, with a piece of metal falling from the top of it to the ground.
Lucas is still holding on but the gunman is now pushing back hard against Lucas as they are holding the iron pipe between them, with Lucas having to push hold tight before his chest is crushed by the force of the man pushing. Shots are still being fired between Helena and the second gunman during this struggle, this is when Lucas sees the gun that was dropped lying on the ground. He pushes back and there is a small opening, which Lucas uses to kick the man with his knee in his groin. As the gunman bends over forward holding his groin, Lucas takes the iron pipe and strikes the gunman over his back. The gunman is staggered but only for a moment, because when Lucas reaches to pick up the gun, his back to the gunman, the attacker grabs Lucas from behind holding him in a chokehold. The 2 struggle and knock against the box Helena is crouching behind.
A bullet from the second gunman hits the first gunman in his shoulder, causing him to let go of Lucas and fall backwards. Lucas quickly grabs the gun on the ground, turns around and shoots the gunman in the chest, killing him. In a very quick sequence, the second gunman stands up and aims for Lucas, who's back is now to the second gunman and then a loud shot goes off. The second gunman falls forward and collapses on the ground, as Helena reacted quickly, taking the opportunity for the clear shot. Lucas and Helena are now standing side by side, Helena facing forward, Lucas facing backwards, both still have their respective guns in their hands, facing the way they just shot. Lucas turns his head to his left, looking at Helena 'Nice shot' he says as he is regaining his breath after the long struggle.
Helena looks at him, smiling slightly. 'We have to go, the killer's not here' she says. Lucas walks toward the exit and Helena follows, both still holding their guns in their hand. 'You calling this in?' asks Lucas. 'I have to, but...' says Helena, not finding the rest of her words. 'Fisher, right?' asks Lucas as he smiles looking at her. 'Well, I...' she tries to continue, but they are now walking through the exit door and see a vehicle arriving. An SUV arrives in front of the fence, followed by another, and 4 gunmen climb out of one and 3 out of the other. 'Dammit! Back inside, now!' says Lucas as he and Helena both turn back and go into the building, unsure if the gunmen saw them or not. Meanwhile, George is taking a turn into a quiet road, looking behind him to see if the black car is still pursuing. Claire is also looking, 'I think we lost him' she says.
Just then, the black car comes driving fast from their side through an alley between 2 buildings, as both are looking the other way, they almost don't see it until they hear the sound. 'George! Watch out!' shouts Claire as she looks and sees the car coming from the right side of them. George steps on the gas but it doesn't stop the car from bumping hard into the rear end from the side, causing them to shift sideways slightly and George is forced to try and regain control. He drives as fast as he can, while suppressing the panic, as the pursuing car is now right behind them. The pursuing driver pokes his gun out aiming at George, 'Claire! Get Down!' shouts George as he sees the gun out of the window in his mirror, but there is no response.
'Claire! Claire?' shouts George, unable to look back at her because of having to focus on the road in front of him and the pursuing car behind him. The gunman shoots and hits the mirror on the side of the vehicle where George was looking at. George ducks but has to lift his head again slightly to see in front of him. The pursuer then rams into George, causing the vehicle to spin diagonally, they just then reach a wider road and the pursuer is one shot away from shooting and killing George. Just then, a dark green car comes on fast, almost out of nowhere and bumps into the side of the pursuer, causing George to drive into a fence and stopping. He looks to his side and sees the dark green car pushing the pursuer's car up the road and as the pursuer's car spins to the side, facing backwards now and side by side with the dark green car, the green car's driver shoots the pursuer twice.
The pursuer's car crashes into a wall and the driver is lying backwards with his head over the seat, dead. The green car turns around and heads towards George. George looks in the back seat and sees Claire lying on the seat on her left, knocked out. 'Claire! Claire! Wake up! Are you okay? Claire!' shouts George as he tries to wake her touching her shoulder and arm. 'Wha...' Claire says as she comes to. 'Claire!' says George, just then, the green car stops behind George. The driver climbs out and is wearing a black bandanna, black face mask covering his mouth, a black jacket and a black pants. George looks in his eyes and sees a familiar look, the driver approaches slowly and lowers his mask, it's D. 'You good?' he says, looking at George and over at Claire.
'D? How are... I thought...' a shocked George tries to say. D smiles, 'I know, how am I here and not in prison? I have my ways' he says. 'Geor... George?' says a dazed Claire. 'I'm here' he says as he touches her shoulder gently. 'So this is the special lady? You should get her to a hospital' says D. 'I will, thanks' says George. He then starts the vehicle, 'Lucas at the Apta building?' asks D. 'Yes, we were just there with Detective Meyer too. Some guys went in after them and that guy over there chased us' says George. 'Okay, take care' says D, who now stands up straight again and as George reverses past him into the road, D lifts the mask back over his mouth. 'Oh, and this is Detective Meyer's phone, can you give it to...' says George is standing with the vehicle in the road, about to drive and facing D, 'or... I don't know, she'll see you and...' George says holding the phone out of the window.
D just walks forward, takes it and nods. George looks at him a bit unsure but then drives off, 'Hold on, Claire. I'm taking you to the hospital, okay?' he says. Meanwhile, back at the building, Lucas and Helena are standing hidden behind a wall, back to back, each holding their gun in hand and awaiting the 7 oncoming gunmen. At the entrance door, the gunmen have entered and are looking around, walking slowly and holding their guns in front of them. Helena turns slightly, looking at Lucas, 'You are right, you know?' she says. 'What's that? Oh, you mean about how you feel about me?' says Lucas. 'No! Jason!' she says, realizing she may have risen her voice a bit too much, but Lucas is amused. 'Oh right, of course I'm right' he says. 'Yeah, wish he were here now' says Helena. Lucas turns to look at her, 'You will see him again, I swear' he says.
Helena is now turned around almost fully, looking at Lucas confused, wondering what he meant. Lucas is facing her as well and starts moving backwards, 'Go, go now!' he says. 'No! I can't leav... I, they'll kill you' says a frightened Helena. Lucas grabs the gun out of her hand and steps backward fast, his back now showing from behind the wall, catching the attention of the gunmen, 'Now Helena! Move!' he shouts as he turns swiftly towards the gunmen, there are 3 facing him from a distance of 20 feet and he opens fire while jumping towards the stacked boxes at the side of him. The gunmen shoot back, but one is shot in their chest, as Lucas lands behind the boxes. The other 3 gunmen rush to where the shots are fired, all with assault rifles. All 6 men are shooting at Lucas, who ducks behind stacked boxes.
The boxes are breaking slowly because of the holes from the bullets and Lucas has to move behind the stacked boxes just next to him, but these are standing against the opposite wall and Lucas has nowhere else to move without getting hit by bullets. He has no chance to shoot back as the men keep shooting at him, and as this is happening, Helena is backing away slowly, reluctant to leave him behind but she knows she has no chance otherwise. She looks at Lucas with despair, thinking this is the end for him and she'll miss the younger charmer. Just then, as she turns around, the 7th gunman stands in front of her. 'And where do you think you're going, miss?' he asks with a grin, lifting his pistol and aiming at her head. He then grabs her arms and turns her around, holds her from the back and puts the gun to her head smiling.
'Wait, please' says Helena, 'I'm a cop!' she shouts. 'What? The hell's a cop doing here?' says the gunman. 'My partner and I were sent here by our force and the others are on their way' says a nervous Helena, trying her best to sell her bluff to the gunman. He steps back slightly, 'Fucking cop bitch! You...' he says before Helena hits his hand with her back elbow, causing his gun to fall and just as swiftly, she kicks him in the gut. 'Aaarhh!' shouts the man as Helena kicks him again to the side of his head and picks up the gun. The man gets up quickly and charges towards her, causing her to react quickly and shoot him in his head. The gunman falls down dead and the other gunmen hear the sound, making 3 of them rush towards the noise. The slight distraction gives Lucas an opening and he shoots back, hitting one gunman in the leg.
Helena is now behind a metal railing with more metal surfaces lying in front of it as the 3 gunmen approach and shoot at at her. She tries her best to shoot back, poking the gun out over her head, but the multiple bullets from the gunmen's assault rifles are too overwhelming. Helena can still see Lucas from afar and he looks at her as well and just smiles, even in this dangerous situation. Just then, a car comes crashing through the entrance doors, fast making it's way to the gunmen at Helena's end. They scatter quickly to get out of the way and the car hits the wall in the middle of the room that separates Lucas and Helena. There is wood and metal and smoke everywhere. The gunmen approach the green car slowly, when they get close they realize there's no one in it.
That is when shots come out of nowhere almost, hitting 2 of the gunmen, one in his neck and the other in his head, killing both. The remaining gunman is baffled and shoots back at the entrance way but this is when Helena takes the opportunity to shoot at him, hitting him in the left thigh. Wounded, he shouts in pain before another bullet hits him through his forehead. The 3 gunmen at Lucas' end are now confused looking and shooting all around them and this is when Lucas stands up and aims both guns in his hands, shooting 2 in their chest and head respectively. The last one turns and looks at Lucas before his brains are blown out from his side. Lucas turns to look at the entrance where the door was and so does Helena, and out of the smoke, walks a figure that becomes clear after a few seconds; holding a small MG, they see it is D.
Part 12
'Man, am I glad to see you' says Lucas as he walks towards D. They take each other's hand, and hug with Helena looking on. D looks at Helena as he and Lucas are hugging and he remains looking at her as they release the hug. 'Detective' he says. 'How the hell are you out of prison?' says Helena. 'Is that how you greet an old friend who just saved your life?' says D playfully while grinning. Helena looks down, feeling relieved but still full of adrenaline and her nerves are still not settled. She also does not like D at all and they clearly have some sort of history. 'Okay, you saved my life, but I still can't let you walk. You are supposed to be in jail' says Helena while she still catches her breath. 'Come on, Detective' says Lucas. D looks at Lucas standing next to him then looks at Helena, 'You could arrest me right now or you could arrest your serial killer you've been searching for' he says.
'What? Where is he?' asks Helena. 'The other Apta building where the Fernandez's are dealing' says D. 'So these...?' Helena looks and points to the dead men on the ground. 'Yes, the Fernandez organization that traffics drugs and arms and also keeps making a fool of you cops are who these men here work for. They operate from the Apta buildings mostly' says D. Helena then puts her hand on her head, 'Okay, so The Collector is apart of their organization?' she asks, now in a softer tone. 'No, he is just a lab scientist they hired to help manufacture their drugs and keep it hidden' says D, 'and the murdering shit he's been doing is on his own accord' he continues. 'Alright, take me to him' says Helena. 'You're asking quite a lot of me Detective, you were just gonna arrest me a minute ago' D teases.
'Okay' Helena sighs, 'I won't tell anyone I saw you, happy?' she says. 'You can do more than that, Detective. I want my sentence revoked' says D. 'What? I can't do that! I am not even supposed to be here right now. I'm sorry, I can't' says Helena. Lucas looks back and forth at the 2 as they are talking, 'You can, you will. I am giving you all the information you need to crack this case, just like I did in ur very first one' D says as he steps forward towards Helena, 'I made your career' he continues. Helena looks down, ashamed look on her face and doesn't know what to say. Lucas wants to defend her or at least calm the tension, but he thinks better of it as he sees D as a brother and although some tactics he doesn't agree with, he let's it be. Helena looks up and tries to say something, but D is now right up standing in front of her, 'This yours?' he says as he hands her phone to her that George gave him.
'How'd you...nevermind' says Helena. D then gets in his car that is standing against the wall and starts it with Lucas getting in passenger side and Helena at the back reluctantly. As they drive, Lucas asks about their history and D explains that when Helena started as a detective years prior, he gave her valuable information that helped her solve her first case. He didn't rat anyone out, just provided files and documents to her. They also had a brief relationship together, but D was ultimately sent to prison because of her finding out his illegal dealings and having him arrested. He says he wanted to kill her but thought better of it. 'My gosh, I keep having to work with criminals' says Helena. Meanwhile, at a hospital, George is sitting in the waiting room as doctors tend to Claire. Just then, a male doctor comes out of the room Claire is in. He is wearing a white coat as he is approaching George, and this causes a trigger.
George looks down, holding his head. 'How could you, Danny?' says a female voice in his head, sounding awfully familiar. 'Sir? Are you okay?' says the doctor, snapping George out of it. 'Yeah, yeah. How... how's Claire?' he asks as he stands up. 'She will be fine, her head got quite a hit but no concussion fortunately. She just needs rest' says the doctor. 'Thanks Doctor' says George. The doctor nods, 'Can I see her?' asks George. 'Well, she is asleep but you can take a brief look' says the doctor. George looks as the doctor walks off then he enters the room Claire is in and stands beside her. He looks at her a while then touches the side of her head with his right hand and streams his fingers through her hair. Suddenly he hears a ringing in his head.
'Ah!' he says, holding his head with his right hand, then both hands as it intensifies. He is then in another place but unsure where, he sees a woman laughing and it's his sister, Jenna. He sees himself talking to her and kissing her, as though through someone else's eyes, then sees the Gina girl smiling at him. Voices are now starting, 'I know you liked it, hehe' goes a female voice, 'This is wrong, what if Jenna finds out?' says another voice. George's head is spinning, images and voices are now going faster and faster through his mind and he is unable to keep up. He now has one hand on his head and the other on the bed Claire is lying on. As his hand is near Claire's, while he's moving, his hand lands on top of hers and just then, his mind becomes calmer.
He looks around, sees Claire lying in front of him still asleep, his hand on hers. 'Focus, George' he says to himself. He then closes his eyes and all the images he was seeing and voices he heard start coming back but slower. He sees himself standing in a place surrounded by darkness with small white lights that looks like stars in space and the images appear all surrounding him and he looks around at them. 'Jenna... Gina... Lillith... these are his memories' George says to himself. 'He knows Jenna...' George looks at the images of his sister, his head starting to hurt but he pushes through, as the images of his sister comes closer, it starts to look more like a film playing out in front of him. He is then shocked by what he sees.
It's an old and abandoned building on the inside, concrete floors and white brick walls, looking more like a dungeon. It is mostly grey, but more black because of the darkness. In the middle of the room, is a concrete table just a foot high, and on the table lies a woman unconscious on her back and arms spread at either side of her. The woman is George' sister, Jenna. 'Oh no, Jenna!' says George as his voice echoes through the dark space he is in. Then as George looks at the vision he was seeing again, he no longer sees his sister but a face, the person who's eyes he has been seeing through is now right in front of him, looking in a mirror. Short and mini spikes hair like George's, a light complexion skin tone, no moustache but an average beard with glasses on and the darkest eyes, the eyeballs barely visible, just darkness.
'Now you see me, I know you can see what I see, George' says the face with a slow paced, deep voice. 'Come find me and save your sister, hope to see you soon, soul-mate. Hahaha' continues the face, who is clearly the notorious and sinister serial killer, The Collector. George's eyes opens wide, he is standing in the hospital room next to Claire's bed. 'Oh no! Jenna! He really has her this time!' says George as he looks around the room then turns and looks at a sleeping Claire. He leans over and kisses her forehead, easing his anxiety and turns around and walks to the door. He opens the door, looks back one last time and steps out, closing the door behind him, and as he closes the door, Claire's hand moves.
George is in the parking lot and he walks to Helena's vehicle, gets in and starts it, but it won't drive. He tries again and again but it doesn't move. He then gets out and opens the hood and sees the problem with some wiring that got messed up because of all the shots it took. George looks around and sees at the end of the parking lot, at the back entrance of the hospital, an ambulance stands there so he heads towards it. As he gets there, he tries to motivate himself to take the ambulance and drive it, 'This is for Jenna, come on. I must save her' he says to himself. He reaches out his right hand as he stands beside it, and the door is unlocked. He opens the door and looks inside, still hesitant, but gets in and starts it. Just then, a man wearing paramedic clothes comes out from the back entrance and sees George in the ambulance.
'Hey! What are you doing?' shouts the man as he walks fast towards the ambulance that is only 10 feet away from him. George is startled but steps his foot on the gas anyway to drive off but the man catches up to him and opens the door, grabbing George by the arm. 'Get out right now! I'll call the police, you hear?' shouts the man, to which George shifts his weight to his right and uses his left foot to kick the man as hard as he could, sending the man flying towards the ground. 'I'm so sorry! I have to save my sister!' shouts George as he starts to drive off and the man lies on the ground hurt on his back and looks how George takes off. Meanwhile, D, Lucas and Helena are driving in the green car of D and are approaching an industrial area.
D is driving with Lucas passenger side and Helena at the back and they can see some huge towers where smoke is coming from. 'He's here?' asks Helena. 'There's a warehouse they use very rarely somewhere around here, so he should be there' says D. 'Maybe a good cover, actually smart' says Lucas. 'Yeah, he been good at covering his tracks until recently, using synthetic drugs to paralyze his victims' says D. 'Wait, synthetic drugs?' asks Helena. 'Yes, Detective. He is a lab scientist, so he made substances that he can use and won't get caught out for. When that substance hits the bloodstream, the victim is paralyzed within minutes. The substance can't be picked up by any modern medical tests, that's why y'all never found anything in the victims bodies' answers D. Helena leans forward, disbelief on her face, 'What, but I...' she tries saying but just then, an SUV comes driving through a road at the right side in front of them, the window goes down and they can see guns that start shooting at them.
D has to make a sharp left turn, but the windows are shot out as they drive through a small closed road area, looks like an alley between 2 huge pipes but narrow. They drive fast as the SUV pursues right behind them shooting, Lucas and Helena tries shooting back but can barely poke their hands, let alone heads out of the window because of the tight space. They get to the end of the narrow road, where D makes a right turn, then does a 180 turn, with the other 2 looking confused in the car. 'We ain't gonna outrun 'em! Get out now if y'all want a chance to survive!' says D as he opens his door and goes behind his car which is standing with it's right side towards where the attackers coming from and he crouches with his gun in hand. Lucas and Helena follow suit. The SUV comes out from the narrow road and as it turns right, it is met with rapid shots from the trio.
This forces the SUV to stop and turn with its side facing the trio now. They shoot from the SUV before getting out, 5 armed gunmen. The 2 hide behind the SUV and the other 3 run behind some high metal walls and take positions. As the shooting is happening, D looks at Helena, 'You have to go! It's not far from here now!' he says. 'What? But they'll kill you! I... I can't...' she answers. 'Just go! Now!' shouts D, his eyes looking scary in this moment. 'Go, Detective! We'll be fine, okay?' says Lucas. Helena backs away as the 2 boys stand up from their crouching positions and shoot back at their attackers fiercely. This allows Helena to run and make her way to the warehouse, leaving the boys to deal with the Fernandez syndicate and her to get to the sinister serial killer on her own...
Part 13
The warehouse building stands surrounded by chimneys of factories with smoke coming out and it is now quite dark, old factory buildings all around and then there are some siren lights in the distance. It is an ambulance that is driving on a road towards the warehouse building and it is George driving the ambulance fast as he can, with his face full of anxiety and despair, but also determination. He approaches the big warehouse and stops at what looks like its front entrance. He gets out slowly and looks at the big double doors and the high up windows all around that is visible from where he stands. As he stands there, he hears Jenna's frightened voice still in his mind as well as The Collector's face and frightening voice. George looks in the front of the ambulance and finds no weapon of any sort. He then walks around the back and opens, he looks around and sees a medium sized wrench lying near the door, but as he takes it, he hears a loud sound behind him that startles him.
As he turns around with the wrench in his right hand, he sees a silver car stopping behind him, and then sees a familiar face. It's Matt driving the car and he gets out, 'Hey man!' says Matt. 'Matt? What are you doing here?' says George. Matt smiles and George looks next to Matt and sees a girl getting out of the car, its Claire. 'Hey you, left in quite a hurry there, yeah?' she says. Claire rushes to George and hugs him, 'Why are you here, Claire? It's dangerous' says George in a soft tone. 'You didn't think I'd just stay back while you go after a serial killer by yourself, did you silly?' says Claire. As they release the hug, Matt walks towards George, 'It's good to see you, I'm sorry I doubted you' he says. George is confused at first but Claire explains that Matt thought George was guilty. George takes Matt's hand, 'It's okay, you're here. Now we have to find Jenna, she's inside' says George. The 3 walk towards the entrance and George pushes the door open, that opens surprisingly quick. 'He is expecting me' says George as he looks back at the others then looks back in front of him and enters slowly.
Meanwhile, at the same time, Helena is running on the road. She stops and looks back, Lucas and D aren't visible anymore but she can still hear the gunshots. As she looks in front of her, just about 40 feet ahead she can see an ambulance standing at the warehouse with a car behind it. She then takes a few steps forward but then there's bright lights behind her. The vehicle stops right behind her and she points her gun, ready to shoot, but then she sees Detective Fisher in the vehicle, his detective truck. He gets out and looks at her with such relief in his eyes. 'Jason!' says Helena as she lowers her gun. 'Helena! You're okay!' says Fisher as he heads towards her and the 2 hug. 'Oh, Jason, but... how did you find me?' says Helena. 'I tracked your phone' he answers as they release the hug. 'Where were you heading?' he asks her. 'Over there, that's where The Collector is' she answers, pointing to the warehouse.
'Okay, let's go back. Oscar and the others are on their way, I'll tell them to find him there' says Fisher. 'No! We have to go there now! We can't wait, what if he's about to kill another victim? Let's go, come on!' says Helena. 'Wait!' says Fisher, as he pulls back on Helena's arm as she was trying to move. 'I just... I don't want you getting hurt' says Fisher. The 2 look at each other, admiration and sincere care on their faces. 'I don't want you getting hurt either, Jason. I've never told you how much I appreciate everything you always do for me' says Helena with vulnerability in her eyes. 'Tell me in detail over dinner sometime...?' says a nervous Fisher. Helena is caught off guard a bit but not offended at all, 'Dinner? I...' she says. 'Okay, let's get this killer first and then you can give me an answer, okay?' says Fisher. As Helena looks at him and smiles, and is about to say something, she catches out the corner of her eye a figure standing and watching from behind the truck.
'Jason, look!' she shouts as she points her gun in the direction she saw and he turns around as well, but just as quick, there is no one. The 2 stand and look, 'What is it, Helena? There's no one' says Fisher. 'I saw someone, I saw something... I... I know I did...' says a fearful Helena, who is getting a chill at the back of her neck. As Jason answers, trying to calm her, the truck's lights go off suddenly and its dark. 'Jason!' shouts Helena. 'Helena! Hold on!' shouts Fisher. They hear some laughter, a psychotic laugh coming from the darkness. Fisher shoots in the direction he hears the sound, then rushes to the back of the truck. 'No, Jason!' shouts Helena but to no avail. He is determined to catch this killer and keep Helena safe, but as he gets to the back, he sees nothing there. That's when he hears Helena scream, 'Jason! Help!' she shouts. Fisher rushes back to find a dark figure standing behind Helena, not able to make out the person's face or what exactly he has in his hand.
'Helena Meyer' says the figure, in a low and deep voice, 'my next collection, mm' he says which frightens Helena, who dropped her gun. 'Let her go!' shouts Fisher as he points his gun. The figure just looks right at Fisher and starts to laugh, 'Shoot him, Jason!' shouts Helena. Fisher struggles to get a clear shot as it is dark and he doesn't want to accidently hurt Helena, but in the struggle, Helena can see a needle in the killer's hand. It is the synthetic drug that was mentioned and he was about to paralyze her. That's when she gets a sudden adrenaline rush and hits the killer hard with the back of her elbow in his rib area, causing the needle to fall. Fisher uses this window of opportunity to shoot the killer and he releases hold of Helena. Helena moves forward quickly into the arms of Fisher, 'Are you okay?' he asks an out of breath Helena. She nods, tears coming from her face and she moves a step backward out of Fisher's arms as they both turn to face the killer, who is suddenly standing upright as fast as he fell when he was shot.
Fisher charges to the killer with his right arm out in front of him, which the killer grabs and in one swift motion, pulls then pushes Fisher while still holding onto his arm and the backwards push knocks Helena back against the truck and in the same movement, the killer throws Fisher over his shoulder and slams him to the ground, his gun falling far from him. Helena sees the gun fall close to her, while her gun she can no longer see. The killer snaps Fisher's arm, causing him to shout in pain. Then the killer turns his attention to Helena, taking out a huge knife from his jacket and takes a step towards her. This is when Fisher grabs onto the killer's foot with his left hand, causing the killer to turn quickly and grab Fisher's arm and pull him up to his feet in one motion with sheer force. That is when Helena crawls and grabs the gun but at the same time, Detective Fisher and The Collector are face to face, the good-hearted detective is looking in the eyes of the sadistic, sinister and evil serial killer and the killer stabs Fisher right in his gut, right through his body, while looking him in the eyes.
'Jason! No!' shouts Helena as Fisher falls to the ground and the killer lifts his hand to stab again but she shoots him twice in his chest and stomach. This makes the killer fall down and drop his knife. Helena rushes to Fisher who is on his back bleeding out his belly. She has her back to the shot down killer as she holds Fisher's head up and sobs. 'Please Jason! Please hold on! Jason!' she shouts as Fisher has blood coming out of his mouth and tries to say her name but he stops breathing and his eyes close. 'JASON! NOOOOOO!' yells Helena and she cries uncontrollably. She then searches for her phone as she looks at him, and as she looks on it where the number she is to call, she looks behind her and sees no body, just some blood.
Helena is in a huge amount of despair but also keeps her instincts sharp as the killer is now gone and she knows she has to catch him. She looks at where the warehouse is and then looks at the police truck of Fisher's standing there. There's still tears coming from her eyes, 'I'm so sorry, Jason' she says as she hugs the bloody and dead detective one more time. Meanwhile, at the warehouse, George along with Claire and Matt are looking around the warehouse that has more brick wall passages than open spaces with boxes, looking like more of a dungeon. They move through a dark passage first and find another to their right, then a few feet further, there's a passage where there are 2 sides, left and right. 'Which way?' asks Matt, and George just points to the left and rushes forward with Claire following before Matt can even ask how he knows which way to go.
George still has the wrench in hand, and as he and the others approach a room, George sees a stand that is usually in labs with glass jars containing substances. There are some coloured green and others red, coming closer, George sees there are more jars, a bit wider with eyeballs inside, others with pieces of hair, some with fingernails and others with small bones. 'Oh my word!' says Claire as she sees this and she gets nauseous. As they turn to their left, there are 2 more of these shelf stands and a concrete table about their stomach height, and on the table lies an unconscious Jenna. 'Jenna!' shouts George as he rushes towards her and checks on her. He stands beside her as she is on her back, wearing a white pyjama gown and hair loose, blood on her forehead. George grabs her shoulders and tries to wake her, 'Jenna! Jenna! Wake up!' he shouts.
Matt and Claire look on, 'We have to get her out of here quick, man' says Matt. George takes her right arm and lifts her, while Matt moves towards her left and lifts her arm over him as well. They slowly and steadily take her off the table. George's wrench is lying on the table now and Claire tries to help keep Jenna upright. George then stops and a bright light flashes in his mind, he closes his eyes, 'He's here!' he shouts. They carry Jenna towards where they came from, but as they reach the shelf stand, George has another vision, this time he sees himself coming through the entrance and walking fast through the passage. He knows he is looking through The Collector's eyes and then he sees from the end of the passage Claire, Matt and himself holding Jenna up. 'Guys! He's coming! I... I see him seeing us! Move!' shouts George.
Matt is confused but then from the dark passage, he and the others sees a figure coming towards them, grunting. 'This way!' shouts Claire as she points to their left, opposite of where they came from. Another passage entrance can be seen. They move as fast as they can towards the other way but Matt stops, 'Wait, we can't just run. We don't know which other way is out!' he says. George looks at him and Claire tries to reason, 'We have to go, Matt! The Collector is coming!' she says. 'He is just one guy, there's three of us. Let's take him!' says Matt. 'What?' says Claire. 'Matt, we can't...look...' George explains but Matt lets go of Jenna's arm and goes to the table and picks up the wrench. The figure is getting closer but Matt stands ready as the other 2 look on in disbelief.
'Come on, Collector. I got something for ya!' says Matt as he hold the wrench up in both hands and the figure stops right a few front in front of them. They still can't quite see his face but he is clearly looking down at the ground. Claire takes a few steps backwards and George tries to warn Matt again. 'George!' Matt shouts before George can say anything, 'I'm going in and as I have him, you come in hot too. Got it?' says Matt as he lifts the wrench but then he makes a choking sound, and as Claire and George look closer, they see a medium sized knife stuck in the area just below Matt's throat. The Collector threw it as such a speed that no one saw it coming, they just see Matt drop the wrench and hold on to his throat area, choking as blood streams and he drops to his knees. 'No! Matt!' shouts both George and Claire.
Part 14
'Move! Now!' shouts George as he and Claire are holding up Jenna and see Matt lie dead on the ground. They turn and run towards the passageway that has a little more light than those behind them, George looks back and sees the figure not moving, just standing and looking as they run. 'George! Which way is out?' says Claire as they are frantically running through the dark passage. They reach its end and see box structures all around them, some on top of each other and others in huge shelves that go up almost to the roof. Meanwhile, simultaneously to what's happening, Lucas and D are behind their car being shot at. Lucas stands up and shoots back, then ducks back down as shots are fired back at him. Then D gets up and shoots at the Fernandez men and hits one, causing him to fall down. As D sits back down, he catches out the side of his eye a shadow on his right at the far metal walls.
He rolls to his right while shooting at the men in front of him, but the walls or any objects aren't near him so only the car is his cover. He sits up, facing the direction of the shadow, and as he sees the person poke out their head, he takes a shot and hits the man directly in the head from quite a distance. One gunman lifts himself from behind their SUV and sees an out-of-cover D and points his gun as D looks and sees this, he gets wide-eyed. Meanwhile, at the inside of the warehouse, George and Claire has Jenna held up right, trying to find a way out. Jenna then mumbles something and George sees this. 'Jenna?' he says. 'Is she waking? Maybe we won't have to carry her now and we can all run out of here' says Claire. 'She's been drugged, she can't move' says George.
They move further and they can see an exit sign past all the box structures and shelves. As they are nearly at the exit, Claire lets go of Jenna's arm to open the door, but as she does, she turns and sees a figure coming on fast towards them. 'George! Look out!' she shouts. The figure has a massive knife in his hand, they can see his face somewhat but still not much light to see clearly, and he swings his knife at George and Jenna. George ducks fast and the killer misses but this causes George to fall down while trying to hold onto his sister. The killer lifts his knife to strike again, but Claire shouts, 'You coward! Leave them alone!'. He stops and turns to Claire, who is immediately regretting her decision. George is on the ground, getting up fast enough will be impossible for him. The killer moves in Claire's direction and she moves backwards. He swings but misses her as well as she ducks and rolls forward toward George. Now a good few feet from the killer but still not out of danger, the 2 look up and see the killer look at them almost as if he is licking his chops.
Just then, the walls are crashed into and a hummer-sized truck comes driving through the wall and entrance doors, hitting the killer who is sent flying into the wall on the left and into some boxes. As the truck stops, they see its Helena. She gets out, 'Is everyone okay?' she asks. 'Detective Meyer!' shouts Claire, while George gives a slight smile of relief. She helps them lift up Jenna and George, getting Jenna into the backseat, but as they are lifting her into the back, Claire looks around where the killer landed after the bump. 'Guys, I don't see him here...' she says with confusion and clear fright in her voice. George and Helena look at Claire, then George walks around the front of the truck and also notices the killer is gone. As Helena looks at them just after closing the back door, her eyes turn malicious.
Meanwhile, D gets shot twice in his rib area as he was crouched and pointing in a different direction after shooting and killing a hidden gunman. 'D!' shouts Lucas as he gets up and fires multiple shots at the gunmen, one shot hits the shooter of D in his chest and he falls down. As Lucas in shooting in a blind rage, his gun stops reloading and he realizes his ammo is finished. A gunman, of which 3 are left, stands up about to shoot back but then Lucas is pulled down to the safety of cover behind the car. It's D, who is holding his rib area, Lucas is astonished. 'But, how?' he asks. 'Bulletproof vest' says D. 'Damn, but you were right open. What if he shot you in the head?' says Lucas. 'Well, then I'd be dead, fool' says D, causing Lucas to smile. 'Let's finish this' says Lucas. 'Got ya' answers D, he then leans to his right and pokes his head out from behind his car at the bonnet side, looking to see what he can find and where exactly the gunmen are.
He points to a nearby pipe and shoots it, the pipe is a few feet high and nearly right above the gunmen, so the smoke and gas chemicals gush from it, blinding the gunmen. D and Lucas both stand up now and move closer while shooting at their blinded and baffled attackers. As they reach the back of the SUV, only 2 bodies are lying there. D looks around to the high metal walls and one gunman appears, throwing a grenade at them. 'Watch out! Grenade!' shouts D as he and Lucas both dive the other way as the grenade is heading towards them. Meanwhile at the same time, at the warehouse, George along with Claire and Helena are looking around and amongst themselves wondering where the killer could have gone and disappeared so fast. 'We should get your sister some medical attention' says Helena.
George agrees and he goes to open the back door with the help of Claire, they carry Jenna to the opening that the truck made when crashing through the walls. 'Detective Meyer! We have to go' says George as he looks back slightly. 'I'll be right behind you' answers Helena as she gets to the front seat of the truck and starts it, but as she does this, she corks her pistol. She then takes a flashlight and spots something on the ground and goes to pick it up, its a needle with the synthetic drug in it. George and Claire get to the front side as they were walking around from the back and the ambulance can be seen. They also start to hear sirens, 'The police must be on the way. This will finally be over soon' says Claire as they get to the back of the ambulance and open the doors, lifting Jenna and placing her there where medical equipment is. George takes some first aid kid to patch up his sister but then has a realization.
'Where's Detective Meyer?' he says, looking at Claire who is still standing outside of the ambulance. Claire looks around it and shrugs, 'She was right behind us' she says. George then gets out of the ambulance, 'Claire, please stay here and look after my sister. I have to find the detective' says George. 'No! You can't! It is too dangerous, the police are on their way' says Claire. 'He's gonna kill her and get away, Claire' says George, looking at the way they came and then back at Claire, 'I am the only one who can stop him' he continues. Then he takes a step and Claire grabs his hand and looks him in the eyes with deep concern. George takes her hand with both of his, then lets go and touches her shoulders. 'I will be back, promise' he says in a soft tone. Meanwhile, inside the warehouse, Helena is walking around pointing her gun around and shining her flashlight in the direction she points.
She can't get the stabbing of Fisher out of her mind, it keeps replaying as she walks and her heartbeat increases. She hears a sound at the left side of her and startles then shoots that direction. As she shines the flashlight, there's nothing there. 'Where are you, you coward!' she shouts. Then she turns around as she feels someone coming up behind her, 'Woah!' shouts George, lifting his hands up. 'George! I could have killed you!' says Helena as she lowers her gun. 'We have to leave, detective' says George, 'You won't catch him by yourself' he says. Helena looks down, clear grief on her face. 'If Detective Fisher gets here...' George continues but Helena bursts out crying. 'Detective? What's wrong?' says George gently touches her arm. 'Jason... he's... he's dead...' says Helena as she continues crying. 'The Collector? But how?' asks George. 'He caught Jason and I off guard when we were on our way here' says a sobbing Helena.
'My gosh, you don't wanna catch him, you wanna kill him' says George and Helena then wipes her tears. Then a figure appears behind Helena, like it fell from the ceiling, 'Helena!' shouts George and she turns around fast and shoots it multiple times then it falls down. They look closer and see its Matt's body, it was tied and hanged above them. Both are in shock and Helena has jumped over the body as she shot it. Then, as she looks up from the ground at George, and he looks at her, another figure appears behind Helena and she is pulled hard to the back and smashes into the wall. As she tries to get up, the killer kicks her hard and sends her flying into a shelf stand with the jars on and it falls over with Helena lying unconscious on the ground. The killer stands face to face with George, just 10 feet between them and George gets a massive chill in his entire body.
The killer looks right at George but then turns around slowly and faces Helena. He takes out a huge knife and walks towards her. George is frozen but as he sees the killer approaching Helena, he is more in fear for her than himself, 'Col... Collector!' he shouts but the killer continues walking. He reaches Helena, lifts his knife about to stab, 'Danny!' shouts George, causing the killer to stop, holding the knife up and turns his head slowly to George who is breathing heavy and overcame with fear but at the same time, determination. 'Danny Locus, that's your name' says George. The Collector now lowers his knife and turns his body forward to face George. Then George lifts his hand in a halting gesture and takes a step forward, The Collector smiles. Light now shines clearly onto the killer's face. He looks exactly how George saw in the vision, almost like a mirror of George but just a bit taller and arms showing more muscle.
'George, you want to save her soul? Haha' says The Collector followed by maniacal laugh. 'I won't let you kill any... anymore innocent people' says George. 'Their souls are not innocent, they're stained' answers The Collector, who looks at George and laughs. George is battling hard with his anxiety and the extreme chilling feeling through his body along with a rush of adrenaline. 'Why do you collect parts of them?' asks George. 'I take what accesses me to their souls. As soon as they get their souls stained, it belongs to me' answers The Collector. 'How am I able to see through your eyes?' asks George. 'Hahaha, we are connected by spirit, George. We are one. Hahaha' says The Collector, followed by an evil laugh. 'I am nothing like you! I... I will never hurt another person like you do!' says George.
'We are alike, we are both pure soul' says The Collector, followed by a slight grunt. 'Pure soul? What is that?' says a confused George. 'We are the only 2 pure-souls in this realm. My soul pure of evil, your soul pure of good' answers The Collector. 'Why are we connected?' asks George. 'When you were in the accident that claimed your father's life, I was hit as well and the car I was in was not far from where you were' answers The Collector, and as he says this, it is as though memories of The Collector are coming into George's mind. He sees how the car spins out of control as his dad is trying to regain control of the car while his sister holds on, then screams and a crash, which is George's own memories.
Then he sees a woman in the front seat and a man next to her, both screaming as their bodies are penetrated by sharp metal and blood is everywhere, which is now The Collector's memories George sees. Then little George is lying on the road after the crash, full of bruises but a significant cut just below the back of his neck and a little Danny also lies in the road not far away, with the same cut below the back of his neck. 'You see it?' says The Collector, interrupting the memories George is experiencing. 'That is the day our souls mixed, you are the first soul I collected' he continues. 'Wha... What?' says George. The Collector then laughs even more maniacally than before, looking down then faces George again and says in a demonic voice, 'I am the collector of souls! Hahaha!'
Part 15
George looks on as the sadistic serial killer laughs, thinking of a way to outsmart The Collector. He then looks at Helena who is still lying on the ground unconscious, 'So, you can't kill me, can you?' says George. 'I can't kill you and you can neither kill me, we are the balance between good and evil' says The Collector. 'Well, I won't just stand by and let you hurt anyone else. I will stop you!' says George. The Collector's sinister grin disappears and he just frowns, then turns around to face Helena and takes a step toward her. George realizes he has to fight the serial killer and going on what the killer said, he might not get killed. Thoughts flash through George's mind all at once, then in a split second, all the thoughts stop and his mind is still. George then rushes towards the serial killer, who's back is to George. As he approaches The Collector, the killer turns to his side and uses his left hand to shove George back hard, causing George to fall backwards on his back.
Then The Collector turns knife in hand fully facing George who is on the ground, and stands over him. George looks up in terror, but just then, someone jumps up from behind The Collector and then has their arms around his neck and legs around his body, the person is Claire. 'You won't hurt him you monster!' she shouts. 'Claire, no!' shouts George as he looks up from the ground. The Collector stays still and calm then just steps backwards fast heading towards the shelf stand, George gets up as quick as he can but The Collector now already rammed himself and Claire into the jars of glass and both fall. The Collector is up first and swiftly, he stands and looks at Claire, lifting his knife, but George charges into him from behind. George just manages to get The Collector pushed forward one step but The Collector turns around and shoves George into the wall. As George smashes against the wall, he looks up and sees The Collector holding onto his rib area, and George notices that the serial killer is wounded.
George, filled with adrenaline, then rushes forward again, tackling The Collector who is still holding the knife in his hand. Both fall backwards towards the concrete table, The Collector going in it back first, then in the same movement he shoves George backwards but not with that much force this time and grunts. The Collector stands slightly hunched over while George is standing up straight, Claire is still on the ground and looks over at an unconscious Helena, then looks back at George and The Collector. 'Let's finish this Danny!' shouts George as he runs in to tackle The Collector again, sending both over the concrete table and the knife finally falls out of The Collector's hand. Meanwhile, back to Lucas and D, both are now taking cover behind metal railings as smoke is everywhere. 'How long before more of them arrive and ice us?' Lucas asks D.
'Either that or the cops will be on us any minute and send all over asses to a prison cell' says D. They then hear an engine sound and as they take a look, they see the remaining gunmen got into their SUV and started it. The SUV drives towards them fast and trying to react quickly, both stand up and shoot at the SUV but it is already at close range, 'Move!' shouts D as he and Lucas dive out of the way of the oncoming SUV that crashes into and through the metal railings. The SUV now stands in a narrow passage with walls at either side of it. On the right, Lucas is quick to get up and as he does, a gunman gets out of the SUV with his gun. Lucas quickly closes the distance between them as he grabs the gun in the gunman's hand while the gunman still holds on and the 2 struggle, pulling and pushing to gain the upper hand. The gunman is pushed into the SUV with his back first, then he pushes back and Lucas goes with his back first into the wall behind him. On the other side, the other gunman gets out of the SUV and D is not reacting as quick, but still gets up and runs before he gets shot.
The gunman shoots at D who jumps behind a metal barrel, barely escaping. D shoots back as soon as he can, but the gunman ducks. D touches his hip and realizes he's been shot. As Lucas and the gunman on his end struggles for the assault rifle, a shot goes off and nearly hits the other gunman, but the bullet hits the SUV door just by him, which throws him off balance and gives D an opening. He uses it and shoots the gunman right in the head from a 15 feet distance, killing him. Lucas then gets thrown while still holding onto the assault rifle into the back of the SUV and this loosens his grip. The gunman uses the back of the gun to hit Lucas hard at the back of his head, causing him to fall down to the ground on his front. He has his hands out in front of him and that lessens the impact of the fall, but he is still now down with the gunman standing over him. 'The boss always hated you, pretty boy' says the gunman as he points the gun at Lucas.
Just then, the gunman's head is shot and his entire face and skull bursts with blood spilling everywhere. Lucas looks up and D comes towards him, slightly out of breath and reaches out his hand. Lucas takes his hand and is helped up, 'Nice shot' says Lucas who is also out of breath, standing hunched over with his hands on his knees. D nods then puts his pistol in his side and picks up the assault rifle from the ground that belonged to the gunman. 'Where to now?' asks Lucas. 'Back to prison, my work here is done' says D. 'Okay, well I guess this is it then. I still am going to that warehouse. I wanna know if Detective Meyer is good' says Lucas. 'Sure, well I will be heading back. I don't need to be where all the cops will be at' says D. The 2 shake hands and Lucas gets in the SUV, he starts it and reverses past D and then drives off.
At the warehouse, George lies on the ground and The Collector as well just a few steps away. George looks and sees the knife lying just a few feet from both him and The Collector. The Collector looks at George and notices George looking at something, so he turns and sees the knife too. Claire also sees this as she is on the ground, George rushes, crawling towards the knife. The Collector does as well and is faster, as he reaches for the knife with George not near enough, George uses his elbow to hit the killer in his wounded rib area, causing the killer to hold his rib area grunting. George dives and grabs the knife, but his foot is grabbed by the Collector, who drags George back, causing George to let the knife fall out of his hand. 'George!' shouts Claire, and as she tries getting up slowly, she looks beside her and sees a needle with liquid in it.
She looks back at Helena who's still unconscious and her hand open, and Claire realizes Helena had the needle before it fell, so Claire picks up the needle. As The Collector drags George a good distance from the knife, he then kicks George hard in his stomach, making George cough and be out of breath temporarily. The Collector walks over to the knife and picks it up. 'I may not be able to kill you, but I can hurt you badly, fellow pure soul' he says. Just as he steps towards George, Claire comes from behind him again and jumps on his back while holding the needle in her hand trying to find an angle so she can inject him. The Collector shakes his back but Claire holds on and as he steps forward while struggling, George crawls forward and grabs his foot. This causes The Collector to lose balance and fall forward over George. Claire falls on top of George while The Collector lands on his front, the needle falling away.
As George looks at Claire with his wind out, Claire looks around to see where the needle fell. 'Claire, *cough* are you okay?' says George. Claire looks at him and in her eyes he can see her mind racing, 'The needle... the needle...' she says. 'What needle?' asks George. 'He's getting up!' shouts Claire, pointing to The Collector as he stands up, his back towards them. He turns around slowly and as he does, they see the huge knife is plunged through his gut. The Collector has pain written all over his face but just then, his expression changes to pure rage and he takes the knife by the handle and slowly pulls it out of his stomach as George and Claire look on in shock. The Collector pulls the knife out completely, barely wincing and looks at the 2 of them. 'Oh my gosh! You were right, he isn't human!' shouts Claire.
The Collector takes a step towards them, a brief pause and then another, then another, bloody knife in hand. As George and Claire are lying down on their backs, exhausted and in pain, it seems like there's nowhere to go as the sinister serial killer is walking slowly towards them, seemingly indestructible. Just then, Claire spots the needle a few steps from her and George but closer to The Collector. She has to act fast, so she lifts herself and crawls fast towards the needle in the direction of The Collector. 'Claire no!' shouts George. Claire is nearly at the needle but so is The Collector, who foot is centimetres away from it. Claire then dives forward with her right hand open, aiming to grab the needle but just as she lands on her intended stop, The Collector grabs her at the back of her head by her hair and lifts her up to face him. He lifts his knife, 'You are mine, stained soul!' he says. 'Claire!' shouts George but just then, Claire looks in her hand as she grabbed the needle just in time and before The Collector can stab her, she stabs him first with the needle in his neck.
He shouts and immediately lets go of her and she falls to the ground backwards. He then grabs the needle and takes it out of his neck, looks at it and realizes it's the same liquid he uses to paralyze his victims, and then he throws it on the ground. 'There's a taste of your own medicine you psychopath!' says Claire but he steps forward still, albeit slowly. The Collector's body is now shutting down slowly but sure, his heartbeat slows down and his breathing, but he still steps forward towards Claire with all his might. The Collector lifts his knife up, a face filled with cold, stoic rage. 'Nooo!' shouts George as he gets to his knees and toes bent and leaps forward. The Collector falls forward with knife in hand towards Claire but as he falls and she closes her eyes ad covering her face with her arm, George ends up between The Collector and Claire.
Claire opens her eyes and sees George in front of her as she's lying on her backside, him on his knees, blocking the knife with both of his hands. He is holding onto The Collector's wrists while The Collector is using the last of his strength to stab someone and cause damage. Claire looks up and sees that as George is holding the killer's hands with the knife in, but the knife is so long that the tip is in George's shoulder. 'You won't... hurt... her or... anyone... ever... a... gain...' says George as he is using all of his strength to keep The Collector from landing on Claire. Then Claire musters up her strength and lifts herself, now also holding onto The Collector's hands. With both of their combined strength, George and Claire push the killer backwards. He is slowly losing all function in his body and he falls backwards and then slightly to his side, hitting the wall on the way down.
George falls back and holds onto the wound on his shoulder. Claire turns around and faces George, and then she turns to face the killer who is on the ground. Then she sees behind him is a door, and as the killer tries standing up again, she steps fast towards him and kicks him hard in his wounded gut and this sends the killer tumbling backwards towards the door. The impact of his tumble knocks open the door, revealing a downward staircase. The Collector lands on the stairs and lies knocked out. Claire then turns around again and faces George, who smiles slightly, but as Claire is about to say something, something grabs her around her ankle and she falls down. As she turns her head to see, she sees The Collector holding onto her ankle and attempting to drag her down the staircase. George is wide eyed as he sees this, 'Claire!' he shouts in horror.
Part 16
George rushes to her and grabs onto her hands. Claire is kicking and screaming while holding on. The Collector's body is still shutting down slowly but using his last bit of strength to harm Claire and George. As the struggle is going on, George looks and sees a desk by the door with glass jars on top of it containing different chemicals and also a thick string of wool hanging from on top of the desk with the other end on the floor. He has split seconds to assess the options he has, so he lets go of Claire's hands and rushes on his hands and knees towards the string which is a few feet from him and he reaches the string then pulls it hard. This causes the glass jars of chemicals to fall on The Collector and break, who immediately lets go of Claire as he is burning now from the mixture of chemicals. The chemicals mixed together give off such a heat-filled energy that a fire starts right in front of The Collector who is on his knees.
The fire is immediately big and The Collector starts burning. George looks on as he still lies in the same position on his right side looking on and Claire is on her back still sitting up slightly also looking on. They watch as the serial killer burns and screams in pain and reaches out his right hand, and this is when George has another image in his head, seeing himself burning alive as he's looking through the eyes of The Collector one last time. They don't notice how the doorway along with the door also catches fire and the serial killer falls backwards down the stairs while still on fire and finally dies. Both have a massive relief wash over them but this is short-lived as they see the fire is starting to spread to the walls around them. Helena also wakes at the moment just as the serial killer fell to his death.
Claire stands up first and reaches for George's hand, 'Come on!' she says as she takes George's hand, lifting him up and just as he's up and moved, fire falls on the spot he just was a moment ago. They look on at the fire and then turn to the exit, they see Helena awake and getting up. Claire reaches for her hand as well while George lifts Helena up by her shoulders as best he can with his depleted strength. The 3 of them head to the way of the front exit but the passage is already on fire all around, so they turn the other way. They rush to the back exit while fire is just behind them, spreading rapidly and burning objects fall nearly on them. As they are rushing, the panic of the situation affects George more than the others, as he looks around the flaming environment with fear and anxiety in his eyes.
The 3 are holding onto each other as they're running, George at the left and Helena at the right with Claire in the middle, but this is when George slips and lands on his knees. Claire and Helena then stop as well, noticing they are nearly at the exit, just a few feet but as they look back, they see George down on his knees struggling to breathe. They are now faced with the dilemma of either running a few more steps and being safe, or turn around to get George and possibly all burn and die together. 'He's having an attack! He won't be getting up!' shouts Helena. 'Go! I'll get him, just go!' Claire says to Helena. 'No! I can't...' Helena answers. 'Go now! Go!' shouts Claire as she turns to George while Helena reluctantly moves backwards towards the exit then turns around and runs. George sees fire all around him and suddenly he hears screams and wheels screeching as well as a crash, as he's taken back in his mind to the day of the accident.
George's eyes now looks like that of a scared child, exactly how he looked that fateful day, tears in his eyes, but just then he hears his name. 'George! George!' says Claire. George is still in his state, thinking it's his sister's voice he hears, but after hearing it again, he snaps out of it and sees blue eyes in front of him, as well as dark hair and a light complexion, as though he is seeing an angel. 'George! Can you hear me?' says Claire as she can see the fire getting closer but she tries looking in his eyes while she's on her knees in front of him with her hands on his head, at either side of his face. 'Claire?' says George. 'Yes, George. I'm here. It's going to be okay' she says reassuringly. 'I... my dad... he's burning, he's dying...' says a dazed George. 'Sweety, your dad died protecting you, it wouldn't be fair to him if you died here today this way. Come on' says Claire. George shakes his head, looks down then up again and realizes they're both still in the burning building.
He gets up quickly and so does Claire, 'Come on! Let's go!' says Claire. As they run with her in front, holding George's hand, burning objects are falling all around them, missing them by inches. Meanwhile, on the outside, Helena stands and watches as the building is burning and she coughs. This is when an SUV pulls up behind her, Lucas gets out and rushes to her. 'Helena, are you okay? Where's George and Claire?' he says. 'They're still in there! I don't think they...' Helena answers but just then, George and Claire emerge from the smoke and fire, the part of the building barely collapsing on them. The 2 are now out of the building and safe but collapse themselves while Lucas and Helena rush to them. Police vehicles arrive just then as well as an ambulance. Lucas and Helena are holding a passed out George and passed out Claire in their arms respectively.
Half an hour passes and George along with Claire are sitting at the edge end of the back of an ambulance with breathing masks and bandages. Lucas stands there with them as there are now several police vehicles and also a fire truck with firefighters spraying water on the burning building. 'So, you guys really took on a deadly serial killer, huh?' says Lucas. 'Matt died tonight' says George as he temporarily takes off the breathing mask and puts it back on again. 'I'm sorry about your bro, I know y'all were tight' answers Lucas. George nods and Claire touches George's shoulder. 'Fortunately, Jenna will be okay. She's in hospital and just needs rest while the drug drowns out' says Claire. Meanwhile, just a few feet from them, Helena sits in the police truck that belonged to Fisher, at the driver's side with the door open and her legs on the outside. Detective Prince stands just outside by her. 'He was my partner, my best friend, I'll truly miss him' he says. 'I can't believe I never realized how much I cared for him before, now it's too late' says Helena with tears in her eyes.
Just then, another police truck arrives and pulls up just behind them and the police chief gets out. He walks up to them, 'Detective Prince, Detective Meyer' he says. 'Hey Chief' they both answer. 'Detective Jason Fisher will be missed dearly, he was truly a good detective and not just that, he was like a son to me. I wish I expressed that sentiment to him more' says the chief. 'He knew, sir, and held you in just as high regard' says Prince. The chief sighs and puts his hands on his hips, then takes a second and looks at Helena. 'I owe you an apology Detective, if I had listened to you, maybe Fisher would still be alive' he says. 'It's not your fault, sir' answers Helena, 'I was the one who always called him and he'd drop everything for me even if he knew he'd get in trouble. If anyone is to blame, it's me' she continues as she hangs her head in shame.
The chief puts his hand on her shoulder, 'Don't say that, detective, it's not your fault, okay?' he says. Prince looks on and the chief removes his hand from Helena's shoulder before continuing, 'I want you to take the full time off you were initially given to rest because when you come back, I'll need a new homicide detective'. Prince looks at both and smiles, Helena can't believe it. 'Wow, really sir? I don't know what to say' says a gleeful Helena. 'I think congratulations are in order. You deserve it, Detective Meyer' says Prince. The chief nods in agreement, 'Because of you, we stopped a dangerous and sinister serial killer. Even when we thought we had our guy because of faulty forensic work, you never stopped pursuing the truth and seeking justice' says the chief. 'I couldn't do it alone, sir. I needed a lot of help' says a modest Helena.
'It is immensely great work, detective. We also found all the Fernandez syndicate's areas of operation and apprehended key suspects' the chief continues. Helena, while smiling, looks over at George and the others with Lucas standing there. She knows that Lucas is also a criminal and is in business with Dernal aka D, who was out of prison a while ago, so she could easily bust them both to further ascend in her career, but she feels grateful towards them because although they are criminals, they've been a great help to her and also they've saved her life and she would be wrong to betray them. The chief leaves after offering further condolences and drives off; Helena then walks over to George and the others.
'Hey, how are you all feeling?' she says. 'Like we were in a train wreck, but we'll survive' answers Claire. 'It's finally over, he's gone. That's what's important' says George, looking at Helena. 'Hey, I'm fine too y'all. I was shot at all day, you know?' says a snarky but joking Lucas. Helena rolls her eyes, 'Hey I'm sorry about Fisher, he was cool for a cop' Lucas says. 'Yeah, we're so sorry' says Claire, putting her hand on Helena's shoulder. Helena puts her hand on Claire's in appreciation, 'And I'm sorry about your friend, Matt. We've all lost someone close because of that evil piece of shit. I'm so glad he's gone' Helena says. 'Thank you for believing in me and.. and for fighting for my innocence, Detective Meyer' says George before coughing again and putting on the breathing mask. 'Don't mention it, sweety. Anyone can see you are no killer and such a kind soul. Plus, because of you all, I am promoted now, so please, we've fought for our lives together. I think you can call me Helena now' says Helena.
'Group hug?' says Lucas as he gestures a hug, but the girls just roll their eyes while having a laugh. Lucas steps to Helena and they hug, then Lucas hugs his cousin Claire and kisses her on the forehead. 'Thanks for everything, you handsome, annoying, lug-head' says Claire. Helena then hugs George very warmly, trying to be gentle because of his injuries. 'You all take care, alright?' she says and walks off. Lucas puts his hand on George's shoulder and then rubs his head teasingly, 'I'll see you lil' bro. Take care of my beautiful cousin now' he says. George smiles and nods, 'Thanks man, and say thanks to D too' George answers. 'Will do' says Lucas as he winks then walks off, leaving George and Claire alone. Claire stands up from the ambulance edge on the ground. 'So, what now?' she says.
'Well, we destroyed the evil that was The Collector, but I have a feeling there's more evil out there' says George. They both are looking forward and not at each other, 'Yeah, but that's a worry for another day, yeah? I mean, what do we do now, you know, you and I?' says Claire as she looks at George slightly. George takes off the breathing mask and looks down at his knees, then gets off the ambulance edge as well and stands next to Claire. He musters up as much courage as he can and takes hold of her hand and then turns to face her. They stand facing each other, George is still hesitant a bit but is put at ease when Claire moves even closer and smiles. 'Do you wanna... you know, go out sometime?' asks George. 'Uhm, only if you will be my boyfriend' answers Claire. 'Really? You mean...' George says. 'Yes, George' Claire says, then pauses and continues, 'I have never met a man as brave as you, so sweet and kind and caring, yet so strong'.
'And I've never seen a woman more beautiful and intelligent and fearless as you. I mean it, you saved me in there' says George. 'We saved each other' says Claire as she now leans in to George with her head on his chest, he coughs a bit but is over the worst. Claire looks up at him and wants to say something, but that's when George kisses her. He has his hands now on her waist while she puts her hands behind his back, welcoming his kiss. He stops the kiss, 'I'm sorry, you wanted to say something?' says George. 'I was just gonna ask you if you'd kiss me already, dummy' she answers as George smiles and she pulls him in again and they kiss some more. Lucas stands at a distance and watches with a smile, there are police vehicles all around and the ambulance they are standing at as well as a fire truck with firemen blasting the building that is now not burning anymore and just smoke going in the air. The 2 continue kissing in this night time scenery, finally free.
The End...
