Xochitl Mercado, 33, is dreading Christmas since she would have to deal with her family's various questions about her relationship status. Unfortunately, her boyfriend of eight years dumped her a year before and is getting married on Christmas Day. To escape her heartbreak and her family's nosiness, Xochitl decides to become a volunteer to help poor children in the Navajo tribe near Gallup, New Mexico. It becomes difficult for her to get used to the reservation, but it becomes more so when meeting Ahnu Freeland, 35, a disabled veteran.
Ahnu suffers from PTSD from his military days, but tries his best to help his community. He distrusts Xochitl, believing that she has ill intentions, but when the two slowly get to know one another, feelings slowly begin to develop. Will this Christmas be full of miracles, or will their differences create a Christmas disaster?
