Tsubaki landed another hit on the bear's chest. The bear's flesh was merely grazed.

 

The bear smashed its giant palm onto the ground. We barely dodged it, but we got blinded due to the dust that was thrown back by the shockwave.

 

Suddenly, the Saber Tooth Bear roared in pain. When I found out why, I met someone familiar.

 

X was there. He slashed the bear's back with an X shape and stabbed it once more. The bear threw him.

 

The bear went berserk. We barely had time to attack it, and it executed its attacks unpredictably and quickly. X had a difficult time attacking it too. He slashed his sword repeatedly, and gradually grew tired and weary to attack.

 

Finally, after a few minutes, the bear died. We happily grabbed all the coins and XP we could get.

 

"Now hurry," X ordered. "We're just near the next town, and we don't wanna face any other terrible dangers."

 

We rushed to a quiet, peaceful and old town called "Vintage Town". The houses looked like they existed two-hundred years ago, and many of the folks looked dirty. They looked hospitable, though.

 

"I'm just going to their local store," I said. I walked inside the store and found a red snake inside. "Eek!" I shouted.

 

"Don't be afraid," the snake told me in a relaxing, elderly voice. "My name is Drake Anathon," he greeted. He slithered to the old, filthy counter and showed me various potions, weapons, and even jars filled with animals in them.

 

"What are the jars for?" I asked. "Oh. They're mossstly for decoration. However, they can be usssed to make potionsss," he answered, hissing.

 

"How much is that bow?" I asked as I pointed at a crossbow with a yellow arrow.

 

"Oh, the Bow of Zeusss?" he assured. "This'll cossst ya a thousssand coinsss."

 

I gladly paid Drake, receiving the bow. I dumped my crappy light sword on the floor. "Can I buy that?" Drake asked out of random.

 

"Sure," I replied, slowly tilting my head to the right. "How much?"

 

Drake rubbed his chin with his tail. "10 coinsss," he affirmed. He gave me the money as he grabbed my sword.

 

"We ready to leave?" I asked Tsubaki and X. "Let me just talk to the locals," X said, running through every house an building.

 

After he finished, he panted as he walked near us. "Why'd you do that?" Tsubaki asked.

 

"Just in case I need any information," X said, reverting back to his normal, energetic self.
