When I was small,

my homesickness was about a tiny stamp,

I was here,

my mother was there.

After growing up,

my homesickness was for a ferry ticket,

I was here,

my bride was there.

Later on,

my homesickness was from a grassy tomb,

I was outside,

my mother was inside.

And now,

my homesickness lies in bewteen a shallow strait,

I am here,

my motherland is there.
