Ricardo Gonzales is the typical shy boy at school. He is constantly teased and harassed by his classmates(even a boy he has a crush on) and his home life isn't much better. He has a mom who is worn out everyday, a dad that physically abuses him and two younger siblings. Not only that but his family is really poor. They have trouble putting food on the table every night and can't afford to buy clothes or pay any bills. Then one day, a new boy enters his life and wants to help Ricardo but he keeps pushing him away, afraid that he might become attached to the new boy only to have him turn his back on him also.
