Lights up on an empty stage;

The orchestra has yet to play,

The instruments lie still

And are only played by the dancing dust.

You can move, but that will not help.

The lights glare at you and do not dim,

Which is a good thing, I suppose;

Do you really want to see the room you're in?

I'll tell you: I don't know.

I'm here, too, and I haven't left.

But then again, think about it:

Do you really desire to leave?

I have yet to see Shame awake here,

But then again, the same goes for the others:

Love, Hate, Jealousy, Happiness...

I have to wonder where they've gone.

Oh? What's that? You recognize them?

Oh no, that's not good at all.

They don't like that you see,

They don't want you to know them.

Who's They? You don't know?

What a shame-oh! There they are!

Hear them sing? Listen to their hum.

That's how you know that they're there.

You don't like this place very much, do you?

Does the unknown frighten you?

Do the voices make you curious,

Or do they fill you with dread?

What if I do...this! Ha ha! It is all dark now.

No lights to find your way.

Do you feel safer? Do you feel content?

Do you feel the source of your true strength?

Oh, that noise? That's just your heart.

It's so fast! Bum ba-bum ba-bum...

And your eyes! So big and scared.

Haven't you ever lived in complete...

No? You haven't? Well, of course you have!

Remember this place? You lived here for a while,

Before you were born. Those voices were your kin.

Lucky you...my voices began with myself.

You'll be back here, I promise you.

It takes a while, but I'll see you again.

And then we'll have a nice, long chat.

For now, just sleep...

Sleep...and remember:

Here there be only the demons you create.

Here the voices are yours and they are everyone's you meet.

Here is where there is true fear.
