"A Poem About a King"

A myriad of men died,

All because of war.

Many a man lost his life,

All for his own cause.

They fought, they starved, they ran miles,

They killed their brothers.

Yet today we forget it,

Forget the blood there.

The blood of unity there,

The blood of fam'ly.

A war with brothers fighting

Is now history.

A war with races fighting

Is more than a war.

It had shaped our history,

It had shown us truth.

The image it gave was true:

No man should hate man.

But, it had not ended then.

No, a King should come.

A foreign man inspir'd one,

And that one had won.

It was not to end then, though,

Because it cannot.

Today, images are false;

Today, we are false.

But we cannot forget him,

Because he gave hope.
