The former unity of Nokor has crumbled and the once dormant nature spirits from the old world have been aroused from their ancient forests and mountains. Nakry is an herbalist and healer trained in the arts of combining. One day she is petitioned by a local lord to calm a malignant spirit threatening the people of his township and his own daughter. In the village, Nakry will face an archaic evil and a new threat seeking to restore Nokor’s arcane traditions.

What if Great Britain, not Australia, had fought alongside America in Vietnam?  The British soldiers would be spurned by Americans and stalked, no doubt, by the Viet Cong.  They would fight their own war of bravery and compassion in a land of blood-red skies and hidden death!
