The Raven Unkindness, Book #1
Marsy remembers being born, Marsy remembers dying. Marsy does not remember the time in between.
When a young adrenaline-seeking Slayer, Johnna Ravenna, pulls a strange creature from the ruins of an ancient building, she knows she's in over her head. But what's an adventure without stakes? Still, taking the creature known as Marsy proves to paint a brighter target on her back than she can handle. A mystery enemy attacks from the shadows; a stranger demands custody of Marsy; and amidst it all Johnna is trying her best to keep a step ahead of her school's overbearing Dean.
The answers to all her problems may lay in Marsy's shrouded past. Unfortunately, despite their otherwise perfect memory, Marsy remembers only scraps of life before their first death.
A collection of shorts mostly from the Shadowbound side of the universe.
This story came about years ago when I was 13 and has carried through several iterations up until now. For it, we've created an entire new world called Gwyneran, which is the same name of the continent where the action of the novel takes place.
Rise of the Secret Fire is about 7 friends who've had innate magical abilities that've largely lain dormant until they're pursued by a nefarious cult looking to take advantage of their power and take over just about everything in existence to its' own ends.
If you like the Wheel of Time, DnD Liveplays, JRR. Tolkien, Brandon Sanderson, etc.., then you'll like this!
The school was build during the dark ages, but at that time it was a castle. A castle full of dark magic, dark creatures, and an even darker secret. But the most interesting thing about the castle, is that no human remains we're found inside. There were no beds, no food, no plates, and no furniture. The only things remaining were animal bones that were not from the Animal Kingdom we know of.
Millenniums later, the castle was refurbished into the mysterious boarding school it is now. Several unique students have just freshly enrolled in the school that semester, and begin to unwind the secrets the school holds. From the overly creepy head master, to the small changes in staff every few months, the new students need to figure out what is going on, who is behind this, and who, or WHAT, they can trust.
