Family
Adventure

After Gary, an estranged and grizzled grandfather to fifteen grandchildren (possibly more), is pressured onto various social media sites by his daughter, Cindy, in order to keep him from "becoming too... disassociated". A few pictures of scenic Floridian beaches and posts complaining about the absurdity of modern day "Feminazis" later, he'd become very adjusted to the new social climate. In fact, he'd become quite passionate, taking photography  and writing mini essays and rants as a hobby and a part of daily life. Just as he'd become accustomed to his new hobby, he'd become very familiar with internet hate. Gary was constantly being bombarded with resentful direct messages touching on, no, pounding on the old man's posts for his very harsh and old fashioned perception of the world. It was only by his nature, while he wasn't blatantly racist (abandoning that brand of thinking when his only daughter married a young Black man, and his second oldest son married a Chinese woman while overseas with the Army. Then, after discovering that they were just as competent and human as any other white man, he grew to love them as he would love anyone of his own race.), he did practice a certain degree of "practical sexism", classism, a proneness to hypocrisy ( a byproduct of his old age),and a certain degree of derision for the youth, making him into a magnet for hate. But he didn't mind, he found a sort of comfort in his waning years to share his experiences and thoughts with his followers. The way he saw it, for every hater he had, there was five people who genuinely found his content insightful. But when a mysterious internet personality direct messages Gary, bringing up a long since forgotten secret of Gary's, the mystery sender puts Gary to the test to see how truly desperate he is to keep his secret under wraps.

Short Story
Tragedy

In my loveliest dreams, I can see colors and shapes like I used to do, when my pop was still around and my mom was alive. There are two things that I remember seeing very vividly before the mean man across the lake wanted my dad's money, and boy was that man angry, shouting mean names as he gutted my mama like a bass from when we used to go fishing. I miss mama, I also miss the sight the mean man took from me too, and all I was trying to do was stand up to the bully like mama always taught me to do.

I miss my sight, I see only in my dreams.

I never thought this would happen, I apologize to the world, the so-called medical miracle code named: Predator has escaped its containment cells. Someone has tampered with my coding, but it's my fault, the Predator swarm has began reproducing using the Osmotic power they were formed from, life is growing thinner in this little Norwegian town, the swarm is evolving, we don't know how to eradicate it, my family, I need to save them, Ashley is missing, the swarm has trapped us in the Osmotic power plant, it appears to trying to actively try to get in the facility.

I haven't slept in a week, so finally, I pray that my family is safe and alive and I pray that the poor people of this town hadn't suffered too much for my mistake, I fear for the future of the world, in regards to central command I am worried because if this mechanical menace isn't eradicated, it will take more than an ocean to stop the Predator swarm from expanding its interests to the whole world. This is Matt Freustein trying to make contact with the U.S. Navy, may god help us all.

The world's nations are locked in constant and violent battles and skirmishes after humanity is just beginning to expand its interests onto the rest of the universe and colonizing their first planet, rendering Mother Earth a sad afterthought as new republics and regimes are rising some 20 light years away.

After a bombing run through a burning and charred Shanghai, on behalf of the U.S. interplanetary council for the atmospheric invasion of a U.S.I.C. Colonized world by Chinese immigrants who are, As a whole, running out of places to run to after China's economic collapse and failed attempt at conquering Japan and Russia in a desperate attempt to regain its status as an economic powerhouse.

Rookie fighter pilot, James Marshall, is returning from his fifth bombing run in his two week employment, flying over the New York skyline in hopes of a nice warm meal and a made bed. The evening sky was a euphoric tinge of purple, red, and yellow, a sudden barrage of light, blues, purples, and greens exploded into brilliant fruition, seemingly tearing the sky apart. That's when it all changed.

It was about time that mankind found a way to piss off someone, or something else, atmospheric invasion perhaps? Huh. Maybe we're not so different than the inhabitants of the universe. James fell out of the sky in a free fall, systems quickly disengaged he parachuted into the sky, which was changing colors and swarming with black dots around the brilliant lights like moths around a latern, falling to the streets of New York, nearly rubbing shoulders with the Empire State Building.

The brilliant light soon began to implode just before James touched down on the street leading up to the Empire State Building, and the swarming black dots entered a free fall similar to James's F-15 jet which was now somewhere in Manhattan ablaze, the black dots fell to the earth, letting out a horrible and ear piercing scream as they fell with streams of black smoke following them.

That 'twas the day mankind learned the universe didn't belong to them. They were foolish to think that they would reign over the universe with no resistance or interference.

"Grandpa Kirk died yesterday, at the blessed age of Seventy eight." Said Ansel as he spoke into the microphone mounted to the dark wood podium scratched and banged up from years of neglect, rain dripped through the church's ceiling the air was dank, dirty, and moist. Morning light beamed through  the huge stained glass window behind him, some of it shattered and discolored. "We were able to give Kirk a joyous extra eight years, before he died a peaceful and natural passing, in a way we saved him from the ruthless fate he would've faced at the hands of the Nazi Regime, that he would've faced eight years before his death.

Ansel wiped tears from his eyes, as he stepped down from the literal soap box, and walked towards the brown coffin, walking past puddles on the darkened red carpet. He held a bouquet of roses and rested it on top of the coffin, he then pushed down on the coffin, it sank down into the floor and fell into a chamber of countless other coffins, the ones Ansel saved.

Emma has no family. That’s why she’s being adopted.

Nothing

She is a beautiful child, a perfect child. How could anybody not want her?

What have you done?

Because there’s nothing wrong with her, surely. Or at least that’s what you keep telling yourself.

It's just easier if I don't tell you… And you'll do what I say or else you'll get hurt.

And she’s only a child. Only a seven-year-old child. So, she’s not going to do anything seriously bad. Of course she isn’t.
