"On that Tuesday mid-afternoon, I remembered looking out the window and watching the snow fall from the top of the clear world, and to the dirty and gritty ground, and I remembered that was the last time I could ever see the beauty in it.

Oh, how I hate acid snowflakes."

While working on homework in a small café in Loveland, CO during her holiday-break, a man comes up to the 15-year-old, Tavi Smith, and starts a conversion.

That was her first mistake.

When he 'accidentally' spills coffee on her, he runs and buys her a new one. Feeling that Tavi had to be polite, she takes the coffee.

That was the second mistake.

Believing that he was a trustable, funny, kind man, she takes a drink of her coffee.

That was her third mistake.

The man ​drugs her, and takes her away, deep in the Rocky Mountains, with the heavy winter snow covering their tracks. Imprisoned in a cabin, far away from her family and friends, it's just her and a strange man named William. He is arrogant, cocky, unpredictable, dangerous . . . but the only person that she has for miles.

Reality hits Ethan when he wakes in an alleyway, the day after his 30th birthday. After a long night of drinking, he had lost his phone, wallet, and direction. He's lost in Boulder, 40 miles away from where he lives. But when the hippie girl freak walks around the corner, and into his life, suddenly all of his problems were nothing.

Daniel Anderson spends his day in an endless routine. Work, eat at his brother's coffee shop, rent a movie on the weekend, go home.  He made himself believe that this is what he wanted and was perfect the way it was.

Until he meets the sick homeless girl, Violet.  In a spur of the moment, he gives the girl shelter from the blizzard. As she is being healed, and stories are being told, an unlikely friendship bond between them.

He pushed his glasses up and ran a hand through his black wavy hair. His blue eyes looked up at him, and a smile curved into the handsome man's face. "You touched my raven," the man said. He saw the man's bright blue eyes turn to solid oil black color. And then, there was nothing but what felt like a bottomless pit.
