The Trocadéro
Lily's friends and classmates were at the Trocadéro. A race was going to take place here. The race was between Alix and Kim. Apparently, everyone was tired of Kim daring everyone into doing weird dares. So Alix suggested a race; if she won, no dares for the rest of the school year and if Kim won, he would get her roller blades. It was a done deal. Alix and Kim had requested Lily to do a banner for them and promised to pay her as well. Lily was happy to make a banner for them.
"Ta da!" Lily presented the banner.
Everyone gasps in awe at the banner.
"Oh, that's beautiful!" Ivan praises.
"Impressive, Lily." Adrien winks at Lily and she giggles in return, blushing.
"Thank you, Adrien." Lily thanked him.
Chloe and Sabrina glanced at each other and smiled. They had a feeling that Adrien might have a crush on Lily.
Meanwhile, Marinette's fist tightened in rage as she glared at the brunette in pure hatred. 'Ugh, it doesn't even look good. Plus, Adrien is supposed to be winking at me, not that brat.'
"You all picked the wrong side to cheer on. Looks like Alix isn't even showing up! Probably too chicken to race an extreme athlete like me." Kim cockily pointed at himself.
"Yeah, right." Sabrina muttered to Chloé.
"Spoke too soon, Kim." Alix spoke as she arrives on her rollerblades. Everyone cheers her on. "Your ridiculous bets are over. I'm gonna leave you in the dust, meathead!"
"You're no match for me. My neck is bigger than your thigh." Kim retorted.
"Is that supposed to be a good thing?" Chloé raised an eyebrow, and Sabrina giggles.
"Nathaniel," Lily called to the boy, causing him to look at her. "Could you hold the other end of the banner?"
"Um.." Nathaniel blushes. "Sure!" He squeaked out.
"Thanks!" Lily smiles at him. "You're the best."
Nathaniel's blush worsens as he grabs the other end of the banner Lily had handed to him.
Max pushes Kim and Alix away from each other. "Let's review the official rules. Two laps around the fountains; approximately 500 yards." He points around the area as Alix and Kim went to the starting line while the others went over to the sidelines. "The first one over the line's declared the victory! If Kim triumphs, Alix will relinquish her rollerblades to him. If Alix triumphs, Kim will be prohibited from making another dare for the rest of the school year."
"We're through with all of those stupid dares!" Juleka yelled.
"Uh-huh, that's right!" Ivan agreed.
"No more dares!" Nathaniel pumped his fist.
"On your marks, get set..." Max says as Kim and Alix got into their positions.
Alix quickly stood up. "Hold up!" She held out a hand.
Kim falls to the floor because of his position, causing the teens to laugh.
"Forfeiting already?" Kim taunted Alix.
The said girl ignored him and rolled over to Alya. "Hold on to this for me, will you, Alya?" She gives Alya her family heirloom watch. "I don't wanna drop it during the race."
"Hold on girl, I can't!" Alya protested. "I gotta..."
"Guard it with your life. It's a family heirloom!" Alix told Alya before skating back to the starting line.
"But..." Alya blinks in confusion and turns to Marinette, giving the watch to Marinette. "Marinette, take this. I gotta record the race for my blog!"
"On your marks," Max says as Alix and Kim positioned themselves again. "Get set... GO!"
Alix and Kim instantly took off and everyone began to cheer.
"But... she asked you to look after it. You know I'm clumsy and plus, I'll probably drop it on the ground!" Marinette said in fear.
Suddenly, Nino accidentally hit the bluenette by her shoulder. Marinette drops the watch.
Luckily for her, Adrien catches it. "Need any help?"
"Uh... yup! Thanks. Gotta be careful! Even if you are amazing." Marinette looks at him with love struck eyes.
Lily, Chloe and Sabrina takes notice of this and rolls their eyes.
"Lily, I'll hold the banner for you." Sabrina offered.
"Thanks, Sabrina." Lily thanked her before she handed the other end of the banner to her.
Lily walks over to Adrien and the lovesick weirdo.
"Uh?" Adrien looks at Marinette weirdly.
Marinette suddenly realized what she said. "At... holding things! In your hands." She chuckled nervously.
Lily stepped in between her crush and Marinette. "I think that's enough, Dupain-Cheng. How about we focus on the race instead, yeah?" She smirked at her.
Marinette glared at her in disgust, just as her classmates cheered.
"Last lap!" Max informs.
"Amazing at holding things?" Alya questioned.
Marinette chatters while glaring daggers at her enemy.
"You might wanna stop glaring at Lily before she comes over here." Alya turns her friend around.
"I can put the watch in my purse, Adrien. That way it won't fall out of your hands." Lily offered.
"That would be great, Lily." Adrien gently handed the watch to Lily, and she put it safely in her purse.
Marinette glared at Lily in the corner of her eye. She couldn't believe that Adrien would easily trust Lily. But she knew that Lily is one of Adrien's childhood friends. Also that getting into a fight with her would always make her look bad in front of Adrien. She didn't want Adrien to view her in a negative way.
Just then Alix crosses the finish line. The said girl starts to cheer. "Yeah! Hahaha!"
Kim pants heavily as he collapsed onto the ground. "I call a rematch. That false start back there threw me off!"
"Just admit defeat, Kim." Nino sighed.
"Not a chance!" Kim frowned.
Ivan and Nino rolled their eyes.
Lily walks up to Alix and hands her the watch. "Here's your watch, Alix."
"Thanks, Lily!" Alix takes her watch. "But how did you have my watch? I told Alya to watch over it for me."
"I had to videotape the race, so I gave it to Marinette but then she ended up getting hit by Nino and dropped it, so Adrien saved it. Then he gave it to Lily for safekeeping." Alya explained nervously.
"Well, as long it's not damaged. I guess it's okay." Alix frowned.
"Just remember, Alix, next time give it to someone who you trust and be more careful." Lily advised.
"You're totally right. I'll be more careful next time for sure. Thanks, Lily." Alix smiled before skating over to a defeated Kim. "You lost, Kim. So you know what that means."
Kim sighed. "No pranks for the rest of the school year, I know."
The teens cheered in happiness.
"This calls for a celebration!" Nino yelled.
"This meal is on me!" Chloe offered.
"Really?" Kim and Alix asked, surprised.
Chloe nodded, "Of course."
Lily smiled at this. Chloe was definitely getting better at being kind to her classmates. So far, it's a great start. She also noticed that Chloe was recording the race as well. She had a good feeling that Chloe was going to send the video to her sister, Zoe. Lily was also glad that Alix didn't get Akumatized as well.
Suddenly, Marinette's phone rings just then. She takes put her phone and sees it's her dad. "Uh-oh, this can't be good." She accepts the call. "Hello, dad..."
"Mrs. Chamack is outside waiting to take her cake." Tom informs her through the phone.
"Uhhh... I... I gotta go, dad. Can't keep Ms. Chamack waiting!" Marinette hangs up the call. She turns to Alya. "I have to go, Alya. I'll catch up to you guys later."
Alya nods. "Okay, gurl. Don't keep Loverboy waiting." She nudges her.
Marinette blushed as she looks at Adrien who was talking to Nino. "Ack! I won't!"
The bluenette runs off and almost trips on her feet. This led her classmates to laugh at the girl who runs off.
Le Grand Paris
"Cheers!" Everybody bumped their glasses together.
Soon enough, everyone began eating. They were all happy that Alix had won the race and they wouldn't be subjected to Kim's dares anymore. Lily and Adrien were sitting next to each other. Marinette was disappointed when she spotted them after she met up with them. She really wanted to sit on the other side of Adrien, but Chloe was sitting there. So she sat a little further down across from them with Alya next to her.
"By the way Alix, can you show us your watch?" Lily asked.
"Oh sure." Alix took out her watch and opens the watch and it glowed a bright blue light. Just then a person appeared, holding a huge watch.
"Whoa." Everyone awed at the watch.
"What an interesting watch." Kim commented.
"It's truly magnificent." Rose added.
"You said that your dad gave it to you, right?" Mylene asked.
"Yeah. At first, I refused but then he told me 'But sometimes there's more to things than meets the eye. He also said that our ancestor was ahead of its time'." Alix replied before closing the watch and putting it away.
"It definitely looks advanced." Max commented.
"I wonder how they made it." Nino pondered.
Alix shrugged, "Who knows?"
"Well, your ancestor must have been quite the genius to make a one of kind watch." Lily complimented.
"I agree. I wish I had an heirloom like that." Adrien commented.
Alix smiled at those words, "Thanks, guys."
